Tournament ADPL Week 8

Welcome to the 7th edition of ADPL, and the first sponsored by Trainer Academy! Hosted by myself and devin This is a team tour that will encourage learning a team tour environment through placing undrafted players in a pool that will be automatically distributed among the teams, with one week of guaranteed play time for each player. From prepping, mock games, tiebreaks, last second substitutions, crazy upsets, and heartbreak: no matter the skill level players WILL be able to participate. The teams who will succeed will need to not only succeed in crafting a team of skilled individuals for all listed tiers, but also be able to lift up their less experienced players to unexpected wins. For less experienced players, this is one of if not the best opportunities to get drafted and compete for a custom avatar, as well as experience a higher level of play than they may be used to.

The general forum tournament rules will apply to this tournament.

RE: ez vs Mav,

Mav contacted early Monday here to alert his opponent he had exams later in the week and would be operating on an abbreviated week. I told Mav that if scheduling did not match-up, we may need to sub or organize a double substitute depending on the situation. However, this is not applicable here given the time being missed/ez failing to communicate.

ez responded late Tuesday (early Wednesdy already for Mav) stating a vague "ok lets play tomorrow noon/evening gmt-7" -- not sure if this means tomorrow at noon to the evening or either individual time (noon OR evening), but let's take that aside for a moment because noon actually worked for Mav if push came to shove. Mav followed up to offer a time around those (a bit before noon for ez) as soon as he was avaialable today, but got no response, so he got on at noon ez's time despite it being after midnight his time (GMT+5.5). ez was not on or responsive, so we tagged the managers multiple times.

After two full hours of waiting (coming to well after 2am Mav's time), the manager said ez was coming on in 5 minutes, but then pulled back 3 minutes later and said nvm, ez had to go somewhere... Given this, we rightfully requested ez come back to play now or they provide a substitute. It had already been well over 30 minutes and we tagged multiple times, but they failed to provide ez or a substitute... instead trying to argue this was like a completely incomparable situation from a prior week and asking for Mav to come back online during his morning when he has a prior commitment (and is already barely going to be on any sleep due to waiting). This is silly, but we can only work with what the other team gives us, so... that's on them. Requesting activity given them missing the time and us waiting far above-and-beyond what is needed while tagging multiple times.

And if you do not take the scheduling as a valid agreement as ez was both delayed and hazy with his message as it did not read clearly, then he is non-compliant with scheduling despite being contacted 48+ hours ago, which is also grounds for a substitute to play after tagging/warning at a time that works for my player. It is not my team's problem that they did not take the situation seriously when we did and gave them hours of leeway. So either way they are in the wrong here, failed to provide ez or a substitute, and made Mav wait 3 hours despite having a busy next few days filled with exams, hence the activity request.
