Since apparently the GSC pool is "bad" this year I figured I would help out the "bad" managers by namedropping some options.

This is including only options from the GSC column in the sheet pinned in Ubercord. Team tours mentioned are from the last year unless otherwise specified.

Retained:
  • Conflict - the GOAT. You know that he is the GOAT.
  • BigFatMantis - former up and comer, now just up.
  • Torchic - probably starting in RBY but can move into GSC, and had an excellent season in GSC some UPLs ago. Mentioning primarily for completion's sake.
  • Gondra - also unlikely to start in GSC but did play Ubers in GSCPL, finishing with a respectable record including a win over Conflict.

Former UPL starters:
  • vani - Top 2 player in the pool alongside Conflict, won several GSC Ubers tours.
  • corvere - I believe corvere has said she's not primarily looking to start in GSC, but the option is still there and the quality is too. Notably collaborated extensively with BFM in previous campaigns to great success.
  • spell - Admittedly had a not great showing last UPL, but hey, a win is a win.
  • Mashing - huge 1-0 record last year, but a good player, just needs to avoid spamming Corsola (and not be started elsewhere).
  • Iguana - Started in UPL three years ago, more recently 2-4 in GSCPL IV, creative builder, solid presence.

Other GSC Ubers team tour starters:
  • cyberacc - Went 3-3 in ALTPL 2 including a clean win over Conflict. I am mentoring him and will do so in UPL too if he gets drafted!
  • Fluore - 3-1 in the same tour as cyberacc, only losing to Conflict, as well as playing some games late season in GSCPL (team was already eliminated, rip).

Strong GSC players looking to break into Ubers:
  • Rubyblood - won SPL playing GSC OU with a very good record, probably more strong results, I don't keep track of OU.
  • dawnbuster - one of the best lower tier GSC players overall, excellent grasp of the GSC metagames.
  • Estarossa - also a very potent lower tier GSC player, active in multiple sections of Smogon.
  • OmBrArch - very active and helpful GSC OU presence, always looking to up their game.
  • Raichy - Oldhead with lots of experience from different generations.

The future of GSC Ubers:
  • shitrock enjoyer - few tournament records to speak of, but this kid is legitimately the future and has my explicit approval. An innovator in the best sense of the word who has picked up GSC Ubers at a very high level in a very short period of time, this is the player on the list that I am genuinely the most excited about seeing in UPL.

This list also doesn't include other players that could be played based on their history either with GSC Ubers or GSC OU. I'll leave that to the managers to decide. List is also not guaranteed to be filled to the brim, I haven't kept up much with the recent GSC Ubers individual tournaments. Either way, the players listed should give you some bang for your buck.

Just wanted to s/o some people I think that are newer to the scene / not as much experience in Ubers tours that will be good buys. These players may be known in other tiers but are just entering the Ubers scene / have been proving themselves a lot more recently. Good cheaper buys for SV.

Heyho everyone, we are a group of people from the Ubers community, who have come together to make content around this years UPL. We hope to not only have it be remembered but also reach a lot of people who might have not heard of a tournament like this otherwise. It was inspired by the coverage around the RUPL from our fellow players in RU.
UPLXII(3).jpg
We have:
- A Pre-Draft-Discussion, in which we went over the pools and different tiers, explaining them.
- A past live stream commenting the auction
- A couple of manger interviews (more to come)

And for the future we are going to have:
- recaps each week, going over the most interesting games as well as give some expectations for the following weeks
- as well as comment some highlight matches, everyone is excited for like Fc vs Aberforth this week

We are also open to feedback and suggestions about anything else you would like to see.
Be sure to check our channel out! We hope we can make this season even more exciting than it already is!

Im bored so i thought i might aswell dump the shit i build this season for upl. Since there is no team dump thread just posting it here.

I think i wanna start this post off rq w a few things i wanted to say about my experience in this upl.
I honestly want to again mention Perry for being one of the best managers on this website period. Making this tour so much more enjoyable then i ever expected. Genuinely always there when we asked them to be trying to help out. Not to mention just talking dumb shit was funny as shit and def was fun to just hang around the team chat and as one of the main people who was active it made it so much more enjoyable for for me personally, even going into dms to give kinds words when i felt down after my games.

Next up is the co Thor yelling at me every week while supporting LMAO. Every single week there was 1 line u could guarantee from thor that was def fair to say; ''Ainz take ur time''. and honestly it helped me a ton to improve my play all round even tho last week was an off week the games i have been putting out is credit that thor deserves a shoutout into. Always helping out and honestly homie it was fun as shit teaming again.

Taka We need to cook more dumb shit together. It was chill as fuck to just talk hangout and u were always an inspiration in this upl in how i approached the sv teams i build this tour. Ur def a worthy rising star. U were amazing homie.

Evuelf Another person that needs a special shoutout imo, after hours of testing together always being there when i need him for either games. Advice or just talking dumbassery. He was there thank you for everything friend!

Also want to quickly s/o the testers helping me test a bunch really appreciate it!! LBN Dark Shion TPP FatFighter2 PurpleGatorade RichardMillePlain Skyiew Raph369

Also drizzlers mayb this wasnt ouryear but this is a team tour i enjoyed to the fullest even if i was busy as fuck this tour will be 1 i wont forget and loved the time together we had! Hope we get another oppurtinity again next year!

After the rant i will go briefly into the teams i build myself or reused every week and quickly what i thought about the mu's and my thought process.

Week 1 v Leru (durians)
SV: https://pokepast.es/08ff597a25ff856c
SS: https://pokepast.es/17afe1f5f4da7751
SM: https://pokepast.es/27dc41f1f0a11ef3

First week of the tour and directly going into a dozy one facing leru. In this series there were 2 things i directly noted down before even touching the builder. I wanted to use something i havent used and explore into sv seeing that at that time i didnt think durians had much sv support and i didnt expect leru to build for it and likely getting passed by situm. After which i saw taka posting a heat team w eject pack iron threats. Making me want to use it myself while wanting to cover offense in some kind of way for the unexpected easier to use type team. After which in the end i settled w the team i posted here after a bunch of testing and finding it feeling really nice to just be able to pivot epack treats into dracos from pivot mirai directly making zacian-c more of a threat or even koraidon into scarf koraidon u turn. Making it much easier to find oppurtinities to just click buttons w my sweepers. SS i approached similarly as sv w scouting situm and leru to see what they might have and i found that groudon was a really good pick into them, fs given the lack of usage of it in my general scout. Turning it into a more offensive structure that i generally like to use w offensive ho oh and fast yveltal. USM i just wanted something he wont expect, with a team that is generally good into arc-w and has ways of abusing it. While keeping arc-ground into a decent mu, i generally used a self scout to see how and what they might bring in usm. Partially cause i was being schizophrenic about what they might see from my scout from the past 2 usm cups 1 that i won and the other 1 where i reached finals.
Week 2 v Gtcha (villains)
SV: https://pokepast.es/adc0b19875fb6776
SS: https://pokepast.es/b4965bf663674f38

Week 2 facing the greatest team on paper at that time. This week was much easier to prep for that the last week. That is because i knew gtcha wouldnt build their own teams and likely was getting teams from fc or paycard or london beats. Making it so i had to prioritize 2 things;
- Being good into Balance
- Being not weak into stall
Knowing those i wanted to really try to use and customize more evs due to the 2 things i wanted to priotize. Which in sv ur def looking at what the fuck are these evs LMAO. Ho oh was pmuch eved to 1 shot koraidon no matter what and given at the team fcs usage has been a ton of scarf korai's i felt like i could afford to make myself a little weaker into scale korai and abuse the fact that i can 1 shot it and trade much easier incase of a random band korai or even punish flare blitz if i terad. Turning into miraidon, having a shitload of hp invest just to the point that u outspeed rayquaza. Making my kyogre mu also a ton easier making it so the more popular at the time 0 special attack kyogre doesnt 2 shot. While caly is a opposite thing, it was eved so i could eat scarf korai fire blitz in the sun from full. The attack didnt matter much besides some rolls against ho oh which i was willing to risk in exchange for that. Another minor thing to mention is that zacian-crowned is a 6% roll to one shot which is anotehr massive thing not having to use tera. I wont reveal sm cause im psure i got that passed. SS was a case of i wanted to load anti balance which specs ogre is a clear thing for. W Eternatus as a way of fishing for the potential fast yveltal which ogre doesnt really appreciate it (even tho i didnt scout it in game iirc). I got plucky this game w the thunder crit onto the opposing cming ogre and honestly i just remember giratina putting overtime in this game which is a very underrated mon. Making it so u can cover the groudon/lando/zyg mu in 1 go.
Week 3 v Entro (Dialgas)
SV: https://pokepast.es/2c47e61be0f01bce
SS: https://pokepast.es/4ae45389a66ffd10
SM: https://pokepast.es/53c3a31d50f36f76

Week 3 v the entro. I will just keep it much more brief now seeing how much i ranted in the previous weeks. Week 3 i knew i wanted again 2 things;
- Be good into offense
- Be good into stall
Sv at that point entro had only offensed and i felt it was the golden oppurtinity to bring of my favorite fish mons in zamazenta. An amazing mon if u dont face a uncommon ghost time in the tier making great abusement from ekiller or even koraidon locking itself into a dragon move. Knowing i was expecting him to load offense i wanted to make it so i had tspikes as a back up into webs making it much easier to break sashes and rack up the chip dmg i needed for an endgame for the zamazenta. Biggest thing hero zamazenta has over crowned is its faster then the primals (mirai+koraidon). SS I went w a similar approach using shifu as the main wincon. Its a great mon that just breaks past alot of teams that dont use xerneas (defensive) but i got greatly punished for that by seeing block xerneas and just getting swept by it in the end.USM I wanted to use a comfort pick into a more balancy type team w eruption groudon as a win condition. Making abuse of z yveltal clearing out or fishing for a potential arc-w or even being a anti ho mon to make sure sd groudon keeps in check.
Week 4 v Skimmythegod (Melmetals)
SV; https://pokepast.es/f55f89de71b81a4f
SS; https://pokepast.es/d5a0e3bfa60a1c5c
SM; https://pokepast.es/01714cf2f26e8dd3
Week 4 v the one who i wanted revenge on the most (cause of usm cup finals). Going into this series i knew 1 thing i had to prepare really well. Their sv at that point has been popping off like crazy and knowing the kind of prep they had in the back w hoenn+7u and skimmy made me want to load stuff i knew i could be comfortable with but still barely out of my comfort zone. In sv i noticed a sheer lack of mutiple answers to miraidon noticeable, making it so that lo miraidon could be a wonder truck to just click buttons against that. W the support of a u turn koraidon allowing it in to click free buttons if it felt like it. Opted for taunt on this particular team so i could taunt the ting lu or gliscor preventing hazards from running reign which this team really struggles with to handle. Very standard stuff here aside from that w necrozma-dusk-mane evs being so u live blitz from scarf korai aswell as outspeeding the primals of this gen at +1. SS Just standard dual ghost, mostly a comfort pick while being good into offense and the balance mu. USM I just wanted comfort last time we played i went out of my way to prep and lost cause of me losing what i liked to use the most. Just opted to run the standard ho w the anti ho mon in marshadow.
Bo3 Week 5 v Terracotta (Bandits)
SV; https://pokepast.es/9e0503b36a921602
SS; https://pokepast.es/edf5d7f515b426a3
USM; https://pokepast.es/526670f190e3190a
The cookoff v the goat terra. Another week where i had no clue what to expect besides wanting to fill mutiple rolls. In sv i wanted to cover weird offense/webs/fat and screens. Opting for me to go the band korai route w brick break as an anti screens measure. Just a very simple team w me wanting to use caly-i as an anti ho option and chi yu which might seems weird as a way of having speed control without being forced to use scarf korai/mirai/lando and having a really nice option into fat just exploding non blissey builds by using tera fire overheat. Into ss i went w similar approach of wanting to not be fucked by offense and just using a pstandard team w defensive groudon as a way of beating down the dd ndm and specs trick caly as a way of punishing the mostly used mono dark move yveltals as a way of making much easier use of the set up sweepers in the back. USM i changed last minute to a team i knew i would be comfy w even tho its a reuse of what i used in classic. After Inspirited (the goat) advised me to not use dual primal offense tnx to tera knowing how to outplay that mu
Bo3 Week 6 v Bacon (Dangerous Dracovish)
SV: https://pokepast.es/f5d59f50f3bef96d
SS: https://pokepast.es/3b42bd4af11f70fc
SM: https://pokepast.es/6def054d256549c0
Week 6 v the demon team w alot of people i bothered to test. This week i knew 1 thing i need to be sure off. Be good against balance. Bacon isnt really known for hoing or stalling and knowing most of the support was coming from ice and nora i wanted to opt for teams that could abuse those balance structures they tend to use and try to abuse that. Into sv i went a very standard route using a cb koraidon as my main breaker and the return of the offensive ho oh as a way of making koraidon easier to handle. Kyogre was a back up answer and ''breaker'' making zacian-crowned also slightly better by removing the flare blitz power koraidon has if it even is forced to blitz again into ogre. In ss i just went the zekrom route as a way of punishing the ogre usage up until that point. W specs ogre as a way of clicking free buttons (if i didnt sack it t1 to fast yveltal). Just standard stuff aside from that. Usm i just noticed a massive weakness into mmx abusing spikes as a way of chipping its biggest answer (arceus-fairy/xerneas) while being the most flexible in beating down ferro/zygarde/marsh etc. Marsh as a z move user abusing bulk up to the maximum.
Bo3 Week 7 v PDT (Voyagers)
SV; https://pokepast.es/5a34defd6e9d5700
SM; https://pokepast.es/3cc9f253bfa8be42
Week 7 was the clutch week for us having to win the week to get a chance for playoffs. While being one of the busiest weeks for me LMAO. SV I just wanted to be good into a potential stall that kate might pass to pdt and aswell as being solid into offense. Having dd sub arc-gr as a anti gliscor/glimm lead mon that just subs on both while this spread from arc-gr 2 shots spdef gliscor pmuch abusing it to the fullest and after abusing it to set up to +4 and sweep. CB korai again as a anti stall measure. SS i didnt build myself and i got passed by aberforth so im not linking that here.USM I just loaded comfort i had no idea and the testing didnt work for other teams so i went back to my routes and used the best ho in the tier in the naga ho w just minor edits on it like focus miss rather then thunder on xern and hp rock for ho oh aswell as having outrage mega mence
Semi Finals v PDT (Voyagers)
Bo3 PDT Semis Finals
SV; https://pokepast.es/48df21b2c461b33e
USM; https://pokepast.es/e95eea82ce02228a
The rematch v pdt again same thing for sv i wanted to load something that i knew was good into offense and screens was the first thing that popped into my mind that i hadnt used and i thought was solid to run. W cover cloak tera water ndm as a way of abusing potential ho oh and having dual lo primals to again prevent me from getting ass clapped by stall. USM I wanted to use something more balancy this time around to prevent me from getting fucked from marshadow opting for a more balancy scarf ho oh team which the scout seemed perfect for. I hadnt used ho oh up until that point in usm and mmy neither which was just a great general pick into the balance type stuff they had been bringing
