Pet Mod Paleomons - Slate 14 Submissions

Alright, we've had a good few days of testing, and one mon has stood out above all the rest as a bit of an issue. If you've been playing the tier, you probably know which mon I'm talking about, so I'll just get right into it.

:dracovish: Swishivish is a problem. Even with 3+ Water resists on a team, it just tears through squads with a combination of Fishious Rend and Aerilate-boosted Double-Edge/Body Slam. None of the tier's Flying resists can switch into Fishious, and generally the mon is just far too strong for what it does. Because of this, Swishivish will be losing access to Double-Edge, and Fishious Rend will be nerfed to match Bolt Beak. That means it will now only gain a 1.5x boost if the user is moving first. This should make defensive counterplay easier to find, and maybe even allow some slower offensive mons to actually beat it 1v1.

Now, we've also got a bonus change to announce with this. The Galar fossils were a pretty disconnected slate, with the winners not really matching each other in theming. One thing that stood out in particular was that :arctovish: Arctobyss didn't gain a signature move, while Dracomizer did. Since we'll also be changing Fishious Rend to match Bolt Beak, and Arctobyss has been fairly underwhelming in practice, we thought it would be a good idea for Arctobyss to gain a new signature move, Frigid Fin. This will be a Special Ice-type clone of Tail Sear, which gains 1.5x power when moving after the opponent. Hopefully this will help Arctobyss stand out more from its midspeed competition like Aurorus and Shivertherium.

These changes should be coded within the next few days, so look forward to them! The amount of players we've had so far has truly been a blessing, and the feedback they've provided has made this process so much easier, so thank you to everyone who has taken part so far! We'll keep you all updated, and you can expect a larger slate of changes in the near future.

Hello again! Testing has continued, and council is now ready to announce a more comprehensive balance patch. Without further ado, let's get into it.

Nerfs
:archeops: Archeops
85 / 130 / 85 / 92 / 65 / 110 --> 85 / 120 / 85 / 92 / 65 / 110
-Head Smash

Archeops is a mon with no downsides. Its offenses are absurd, its STABs are 150 and 120 BP respectively, and its movepool is borderline bottomless, not even mentioning how most of the mons that check it defensively can't actually beat it thanks to First Flight. It's also so good in its role that it pretty much fully outclasses every other physical Rock or Fighting breaker, making mons like Brawlutra and Rampardos impossible to justify (though teams featuring Rampardos in tandem with Archeops have recently done well, ironically). It's clear that this mon needs some detuning, so we're starting pretty aggressively by both nerfing its Attack and removing its nuclear Head Smashes. Hopefully this will allow defensive counterplay to actually exist for this mon, namely in bulky Fighting resists.

:lurantis: Cardantis
-Magic Bounce

Cardantis is unbelievably overtuned. It's already an incredibly centralizing force in such a Ghost-dominated meta, being a mon both immune to Ghost and able to hit Ghosts super-effectively, plus having a metric ton of utility on top of that. Magic Bounce, however, pushes it over the edge. It is next to impossible to set up hazards while this mon is alive. It comes in on every setter thanks to its amazing bulk, and forces most of them out with pressure from Knock Off + Toxic. On top of that, Magic Bounce also makes it functionally immune to status, which again just makes it that much harder to deal with. With that in mind, it's clear that Magic Bounce needs to go. Now, the eagle-eyed among you might notice that Misty Surge also gives Cardantis a status immunity, but overall I think it's a lot less of an issue compared to Magic Bounce, as it also means you can't use Toxic, which makes Cardantis a lot more passive than it is currently. Hopefully this is the last time we'll need to take action on this mon.

:gourgeist: Gourgeist-Ancient-Small
-Magic Guard, +Fairy Aura

Anyone watching the replay channel on the Discord server in the past few days knows about this mon. Gourgeist-Small is an insanely powerful sweeper, with MGLO-boosted drawbackless Wood Hammers backed up by Play Rough and High Horsepower being quite literally impossible to switch into at +2. If you don't have a faster Pokemon that can OHKO it, you lose on the spot once it sets up, and that's clearly a problem. Fairy Aura is still a solid offensive ability, so this mon is likely to still be pretty strong, but Wood Hammer chip and Life Orb no longer being free will help a lot with enabling counterplay for this mon.

Buffs
:aurorus: Aurorus
+Hex, Phantom Force, Shadow Ball, Shadow Sneak

The original subber forgot to give this mon Ghost STAB, so we're fixing that. Have fun running Thick Fat if that's your thing.

:bastiodon: Bastiodon
60 / 52 / 148 / 107 / 138 / 30 --> 70 / 52 / 148 / 107 / 138 / 30

Bastiodon is probably the worst mon in the mod right now, but it does have quite a few good traits. Council is hoping a boost to its bulk will help it stand out from the competition, and we look forward to seeing more experimentation with Petroglyph wincon sets.

:cradily: Cradily
76 / 88 / 103 / 98 / 113 / 47 --> 76 / 88 / 103 / 108 / 113 / 47

Cradily is sooooooo passive. It's incredibly easy to switch into, which especially sucks considering the only good Special Water move it gets is a Make It Rain clone (a move that works much better on offensive mons). It does still have a lot of good defensive traits though, so we hope a boost to its Special Attack will be enough to justify running it on more teams.

:gourgeist: Gourgeist-Ancient-Super
-Fairy Aura, +Magic Guard

Yeah, Super is trading abilities with Small. Super is probably the worst Gourgeist form right now, but Magic Guard is a SUPER valuable ability on a tank like Gourgeist-Super, so hopefully this ability shuffling will help rocket it out of obscurity.

:marowak-alola: Pesbasil
+Shadow Sneak

Nothing gets Shadow Sneak right now, which is crazy considering how many Ghosts we have, and Pesbasil is definitely on the weaker end of the spectrum when it comes to Ghosts, so we figured Sneak could help it stand out more.

:wyrdeer: Shivertherium
105 / 115 / 105 / 65 / 60 / 70 --> 105 / 115 / 105 / 65 / 60 / 80

Shivertherium is not a defensive mon. Its typing is just so unbelievably bad defensively that any semblance of a defensive niche it could've had is immediately thrown out the window. However, offensive sets have shown to be somewhat good, so council is hoping a boost to its Speed stat will help enable such sets.

And that's all we've got! Thank you to everyone who helped playtest during this testing phase, and we're looking forward to seeing more play and discussion in the future. For now, the plan is to open Slate 10 tomorrow, so I'll see you all then!

SLATE 10 - Strange Fossils (Great Tusk, Scream Tail, Brute Bonnet)
:sv/great-tusk: :sv/scream-tail: :sv/brute-bonnet:

With fossil reworks complete, we will now pivot into the newest additions to ancient Pokemon, the Past Paradoxes! For this slate, we'll be covering three Paradox Pokemon, returning them to the state they could have appeared in before being forcibly transported to the present. This will be similar to a fossil rework slate, with everything on the table to be changed, from stats to abilities to moves to typing. There is only one guideline: these Paradox reworks cannot have the ability Protosynthesis. This ability represents the corrupted state they appeared in during the events of Scarlet & Violet and wouldn't exist on an ancient reimagining of the mons. The rules for submission are as follows:
  • You can sub 1 to 3 of the Pokémon chosen in this slate.
  • Make sure to compare your submission to what already exists to help gauge its power and ensure you're not outclassing anything. There has been plenty of playtesting of the current meta, so I highly recommend reading through the assorted metagame discussion posts and getting feedback on your submission in the Discord.
  • Custom Elements are allowed, as long as they have something different from already existing abilities/moves and are relatively simple to code (no custom field effects - we're learning from last gen lol. Also, if you think it's codable but our coder disagrees, then you'd better be prepared to code it yourself if it wins.)
  • Any Pokemon not currently in Generation 9 will instead use its Generation 8 movepool minus dexited moves (aka moves that are unusable in SV).

Flavor: hard dragon. Because sada happens to not be very smart, they mistook amonguh’s “grassy exterior” as actual grass, unlike its actual formation being oxidized copper. It can roughly manipulate this copper to attack its opponents, and was considered to be a sign of wealth to live near them during ancient times

Name: Loxosili (Palaeoloxodon + Silican)
Original Pokémon: Great Tusk
Typing: =
Scary Face - Normal-type

Abilities: Dwarf Tusk: This Pokémon's razor sharp tusks damage the enemy Pokémon for a fixed amount of damage equal to Loxosili's level every time it gets hit with a critical hit.
Stats: 115/71/71/59/59/70
New Moves: Horn Leech, Stomp, Charm, Eerie Impulse, Circle Throw, Primal Trumpet: This Normal Status move with 8 BP has +4 Priority, and makes the target's attack this turn become a guaranteed critical hit.
Removed Moves: All Fighting, Dark, Ice, Fire, and Electric Coverage (Circle Throw becomes it's sole Fighting coverage)
Role: Critical hits a problem? This Pokémon's the solution, damaging enemies with it's sharp tusks every time they land a critical hit on this Pokémon. It's signature move is an all-or-nothing gamble, guaranteeing an activation of it's ability, but also risks it being knocked out by increased damage.
Flavor: It would be hard to believe that Pokémon battling is what gave this Donphan ancestor the ferocity that modern Donphan have today. Back then, this Dwarf Silican Elephant Pokémon was a peaceful herding animal that wouldn't dare to hurt a fly, but predators feared attacking it because of it's long tusks, the same size as Great Tusk's, that could puncture a hole in solid titanium. It's armor at this point is merely soft skin, but still retains the long tail and the feet that Great Tusk has today. When a herd of Loxosili were transported into the Paldea Region of the present day, scarlet scales covered their body, and a ferocious disposition finally put the tusks into use, turning them into Great Tusk.

Name: Jiralaguff (Jigglypuff +Nuralagus)
Original Pokémon: Scream Tail
Typing: ==
Abilities: Healer/Sand Rush/Sand Force
Stats: 120/45/64/76/95/78
New Moves: Earth Power, Sand Tomb, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Shore Up, Twister, Hurricane, Scorching Sands
Removed Moves: All Psychic, Water, and Ice coverage except for Psychic Noise
Role: A fast Special wall that works best in Sandstorms. It's Shore Up will whisk Special Attackers away to the great unknown that is switching them out for a Physical attacker, caving the way for a strong attacker of your own.
Flavor: Before it was sent to Paldea, infusing itself with a ferocious disposition and Psychic powers, Scream Tail was a simple primitive Jigglypuff that was said to have inspired the very first songs in existence. Compared to Scream Tail, Jiralaguff has long ears and a slightly fatter body comparable to a Nuralagus, with brown tufts of fur covering both it's body and it's remnant tail hair, which is a lot shorter than Scream Tail due to it's calm disposition.

Name: Tonnetax (Bonnet + Prototaxite)
Original Pokémon: Brute Bonnet
Typing: ==
Abilities: Effect Spore/Symbosis/Screen Cleaner
Stats: 93/77/85/75/85/55
New Moves: Powder, Flamethrower, Ember, Flame Charge, Spicy Extract, Explosion, Incinerate, Fire Spin, Fire Punch
Removed Moves: All Dark and Poison coverage
Role: This tricky support Pokémon will leave your opponents feeling under the weather with a variety of status moves, and it's immunity to Powder based moves could be vital when facing off against troublesome Grass-types. Plus, it gets access to Spore!
Flavor: It's obvious that without time travel, Poké Balls would have never existed in the past, which made a clear inspiration on Brute Bonnet's design. Thus, Tonnetax, who is based off the Prototaxites, removes all the references to that from it's design. The large Poké Ball cap is now a massive conifer-like seed pod that fires flammable spores, and the two Poké Ball hands becomes a pair of spore pods that serve as pseudo flamethrowers. However, it still retains the spiky green hair, the four legs, and the long tail. It is also considerably thinner than Brute Bonnet. This early Amoonguss disguises itself as an ordinary mushroom to draw in hungry Pokémon, before blowing them to smithereens by igniting the spores that it launches from it's launchers.

Gift of Flame (!!)
Fire | Status

User Faunts. Restores next pokemon's HP and PP to Full, Cures Status, and grants the Fire typing (With its Stab Bonus). If they are already a Fire type, they gain a x2 Stab Bonus rather than x1.5.

Role: a Fast, Fiery Support PEST. Also surves as the first legandary for Paldomons.
Flavor:
"I cast Fireball"
A Lesser Legandary overhaul of Scream Tail. Now inspired by Promethesis and his flame, the gift of intelligince. Strong stat wise with an AMAZING typing, but easily breakable with the right support (Knock Off into Hazards, I see you Kabotops). Generally just think of Scream Tail with a giant fiery ponytail and some more heat in its color scheme if you need a visual.

"Once an ancient ancestor of Jigglypuff, it was blessed by a rainbow bird of flame with the gift of fire to spread around the world. Its passion burns with its cry, setting forests ablaze in a single scream."

Other: Spikes, Earthquake, Heal Bell, Encore, Torment, Disable, Trick Room, Wonder Room, Magic Room, Heavy Slam, Dragon Tail
Removed Moves: All Dark Moves ( Except Taunt ), Spore, Magical Leaf, Trailblaze

Towering Presense (!)
When a move makes contact with this pokemon, it inflicts Torment.

Role: Physical Wall / Tank ( Mega Aggron Energy ) with some mixups. Also acts as the tier's first real Sand Setter.
Flavor:
Brute Bonnet but stupidly massive and partially fossilized/turned to rock. A combination of the Prototaxtities and the Tower of Babel, of course drawing from the long necked Sauropod as the new thing. The seperation of language at Babel and Mushrooms's iconic effect to effect the mind here is what is at play, keeping any breaker from attempting to climb it for too long. Ironic though, with Weird Hardcore Christans giving bullshit reasons to push their own story of the world's creation 6000 years ago.

"Said to be one of the first grass type pokemon to walk the earth, Babelaxite evolved to get taller and taller until it scrapped the heavens. Pokemon seemed to be drawn to climbing it due to its body acting as a giant tree almost... Though they arnt normally aware of the rather toxic skin filled with spores that drives them mad on the way up."

Name: Mammolten (3.3/3) (Mammoth / Molten)
Original Pokemon: Great Tusk
Typing: 1719593231939.png / 1719593198392.png
Abilities: Gooey / Soulblaze (!)
Stats: 90 / 100 / 120 / 100 / 70 / 50 (530 bst)
New Moves:
Fire (Mammolten Only): Flamethrower, Lava Plume, Fire Blast, Overheat, Fire Spin
Ground: Melt Away (!!, Mammolten Only), Scorching Sands
Other: Tar Shot, Shadow Ball, Shadow Claw, Astonish, Poltergeist, Hex, Clear Smog, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Gunk Shot
Removed Moves: Every Fighting, Ice, and Steel, Rapid Spin (Mammolten Only), Headlong Rush
Role: Fat Fuck Hazard Remover, is scared shitless by the Waters but could not care less for every single Ghost in the tier, being able to spin on them. Also packs a massive punch with Fire Blast and Earth Power.

Flavor: Where Phanpy was Rubber, Donphan was Tar... Mammolten is blazing oil. Burned. Processed where the souls of the dead are turned into fuel, setting the landscape into a thick smog. Its a walking tar fire. Of course, there are other influence, its clearly a mammoth and is MUCH larger, and acts as both a way to give Donphan access to Eviolite, and its own heavy hitting special move lobbing tank. Rapid Spin becomes Melt Away. Heatproof becomes Soulblaze. Mammolten is the firey summit of this line and... acts as a replacement to Great Tusk.

Soulblaze (!)
0.5x Damage from Ghost moves.

Melt Away (!!)
Ground | Special
50 Power | 100% Acc | 40/64 PP
Clears hazards, melts away Leech Seed, Bind, and Wrap. Inflicts Tar Shot on hit.

Flavor: Straight Tusks are considered some of the smartest pokemon, using their sharp tusks they're able to do pteroglyphs to the extent of developing their own alphabet. Description: Special Attacker, weeee. Great stab options in Alluring Voice, Dazzling Gleam and Strange Steam, while also having a great secondary stab in Dark Pulse, Malicious Spores and Night Daze, giving you a great advantage to the Ghost types of the meta, while also giving coverage to Fighting, Dark, Dragon and Psychic. Calm Mind is a good boosting option, with good coverage in Earth Power. Poison Heal is a great ability as both a way fo quick recovery and allowing it to switch in Toxic Spikes and negating other status conditions.

Flavor: Although Evil Mycelium has a more mammal-like appearance, studies actually recovered it as a Fungus, mimicking a mammal. This is shown through the weird protuberances on its face, which are actually mycelliums that it uses to paralyze it's prey and as a way of reproduce new Evil Myceliums. Based on Choerosaurus.

New Moves: Ivory Slash, Aura Sphere, Calm Mind, Dazzling Gleam, Extrasensory, Focus Blast, Future Sight, Healing Wish, Magic Coat, Psychic
Ivory Slash: 80 BP Physical Psychic, 10 PP. Raises the user's crit rate by one stage after doing damage. (also is a Blade move)
Removed Moves: Dig, Earthquake, Headlong Rush, High Horsepower, Rapid Spin, Stomping Tantrum

Role: Even after its nerf, Archeops still looks pretty crazy. Nothing really switches into STABs + Knock Off comfortably, and I'm tired of how freely it pivots around. So, here's a counter. Eleffigy switches into everything Archeops can click pretty comfortably and punishes button mashing thanks to Rough Skin, while also providing pretty solid offensive pressure so as not to be a momentum sink. It's not a perfect answer though, as once its Leftovers get Knocked it has no other means of recovery, but it makes the guessing game of playing around Archeops a LOT easier. Zen Mode also exists and is funny.
Flavor: References ivory's spiritual significance in many ancient cultures, particularly as a source of luck. Also uhh mammoth or something.

New Moves: Soul Wind, Acrobatics, Aerial Ace, Air Slash, Defog, Giga Drain, Heat Wave, Leech Life, Roost, Tailwind
Soul Wind: 90 BP Special Flying, 10 PP. Deals double damage to Ghost types. (also is a Wind move)
Removed Moves: Amnesia, Expanding Force, Imprison, Misty Explosion, Misty Terrain, Psybeam, Psychic, Psychic Terrain, Psyshock, Stored Power, Trick Room

Role: Ghosts are everywhere in the current meta, which makes defensive Normals actually pretty strong. Cardantis is effective, but it's also a Ghost, which is pretty cringe. Icaruff is made specifically to answer Tauros-Ancestor, who lacks consistent defensive counterplay, but also to check Ghosts in general thanks to its Normal typing and great bulk.
Flavor: Based on Icaronycteris, an ancient bat, but it's fat now.

:sv/brute-bonnet:
Name: Chrizocolla (Rhizomorph + Chrysocolla)
Original Pokemon: Brute Bonnet
Typing:
Grass.png
Steel.png

Abilities: Mycelium Might / Heavy Metal | Heatproof
Stats: 101 / 127 / 99 / 69 / 89 / 35 [520 BST]
New Moves: Copper Crash, Heavy Slam, Iron Head, Flash Cannon, Iron Defense, Leech Seed, Power Whip, Stealth Rock, Thunder, Thunder Punch, Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt
Copper Crash: 85 BP Physical Steel, 10 PP. Damages Electric types neutrally.
Removed Moves: Synthesis
Weight: 380 kg

Role: Mainly a response to two mons, Crobat-Ancient and Yizolt. Crobat has like literally no defensive counterplay right now, which is crazy considering it has like 90 SpA, while Specs Yizolt preys on the fact that the tier completely lacks SpDef Electric resists (besides Meganium, but you don't want to be running that mon defensively). Chrizocolla is more than fat enough to switch into Crobat and threaten it out with STAB Power Whip, even without resisting its STABs, while its Grass/Steel typing and great special bulk let it switch cleanly into Yizolt as well and delete it with Copper Crash, barring Flamethrower predictions (which can also be mitigated by Heatproof). Also does well into an assortment of other mons, including Gourgeist-Ancient, Swishivish, Kabutops, and Goldoco (Mycelium Might go brrrrr).
Flavor: Based partially on Prototaxites, a massive rhizomorphic fungus from the Devonian period, and partially on certain fungus species that live in environments containing high levels of heavy metals (including copper).

Type:

Abilities: Rain Dish, Rock Head
Stats: 113 | 131 | 117 | 59 | 53 | 71 [BST= 540]
Added Moves: Aqua Cutter, Aqua Ring, Aqua Tail, Chilling Water, Dive, Hydro Pump, Life Dew, Muddy Water, Surf, Water Spout, Rain Dance, Waterfall, Wave Crash
Removed Moves: Headlong Rush, Ice Spinner, Knock Off, Sunny Day, Supercell Slam, Temper Flare
Description: Brawlutra covers the same roles that vanilla grusk does, so I decided to take the mon in more sophisticated direction... he clicka the Wave Crash, he literally just clicks wave crash, close combat, and head smash and makes big numbers appear. That middling speed tier with no priority options makes it hard for Typhan to plow through teams though; it either needs to go scarf, get a +1 from rapid spin beforehand, or Webs support from Cradily/Servachne.
Flavor: This prehistoric mon is more like a hippo than an elephant, in the sense that it spends its time in watering holes and can be extremely aggressive when provoked. Typhan could better utilize its giant tusks compared to its corrupted counterpart with the help of water buoyancy.

Abilities: Overcoat, Neutralizing Gas
Stats: 107 | 117 | 99 | 83 | 81 | 53 [BST= 540]
Added Moves: Beat Up, False Surrender, High Horsepower, Knock Off, Leech Seed, Obstruct, Thunder Punch, Toxic
Removed Moves: Energy Ball, Grassy Terrain, Ingrain, Leaf Storm, Magical Leaf, Seed Bomb
Description: ngas gaming. bulky attacker that can shut down ability-reliant attackers such as tauros/conk-ancient and tyrantrum or deal with all those annoying ghost mons in the meta. A defensive mon that ignores poison touch from moscourge/venopleura is also nice. No SDance sucks but I decided against it since this mon still has access to spore.
Flavor: There is like zero flavor to this guy I just wanted to give brute bonnet the name it deserves. unga bunga

Name: Walrusk
Original Pokemon: Great Tusk
Typing: Water/Ground
Abilities: Thick Fat, Tough Claws
Stats: 95/101/73/73/101/57

New Moves: Flip Turn, Liquidation, Waterfall, Scald, Surf, Wave Crash, Rain Dance, Ice Shard, Aqua Jet, Recycle
Removed Moves: Close Combat, Brick Break, Reversal

Role: Spdef Pivot w/ good utility, Great check for Yizolt and other strong spatkers, has strong stabs, good utility, and decent bulk, alongside the typing, big issue with no longevity whatsoever but it has so many other traits to compensate and you can get back a good amount with leftovers.
Flavor: Walrus with massive Tusks. The rubber coating of ancient Great Tusk was by far the most well preserved element of the species besides their tusks, and while Paldean Scientists assumed them to be terrestrial creatures, these adaptations actually helped them become adept aquatic hunters. Might rework this design idk, it’s largely based off the concept of convergent evolution as both walrus and elephants have incredibly potent tusks and that scientists could’ve reassembled the fossils all wrong all this time and it was actually a more aquatic mammal, a walrus, who is yet another pinnacle of this convergent evolution.

Name: Pteronnet
Original Pokemon: Brute Bonnet
Typing: Grass/Dragon
Abilities: First Flight, Mycelium Might, Mold Breaker
Stats: 91/49/79/117/89/85

New Moves: Draco Meteor, Matcha Gotcha, Scald, Hydro Pump, Venoshock, Sludge Bomb, Dragon Dance, Dragon Hammer, Hurricane, Gust, Twister, Dragon Pulse, Glare, Agility, Calm Mind, Flamethrower, Fire Blast
Removed Moves: Spore, Lash Out

Role: Special Breaker, Choice user, Calm Mind breaker. This thing is absolutely nuclear, and has fantastic coverage for a lot of the things that would typically wall it by virtue of typing, it also hella resists electric and is just built to take a few hits if needed, really strong mon, gonna be a big threat, but naturally kept in check by a lot of meta threats being good into it.
Flavor: Paldean Scientists weren't too far off with Brute Bonnet, with its very dinosauric elements but as is the case with plant matter it is difficult to properly preserve, so everything takes an entirely different shape, and of course with a completely different set of abilities. Pteronnet much more resemble flying dinosaurs of ancient pasts, specifically Pterosaurs and Pterodactyl. Their wings aren’t fully capable of letting the Pteronnet soar, but they can glide and travel short distances, which helps them evade predators and gain distance for their powerful elemental attacks.

Name: Bigglygruff
Typing: Dragon/Fairy
Abilities: Cute Charm / Competitive | Dracogenesis (After the Pokemon successfully damages an opposing Pokemon with an Dragon-Type attack, its next attack will result in a critical hit until the end of the next turn.)
Stats: 111 / 115 / 65 / 115 / 65 / 99
New Moves: Tail Slap, Super Fang, Knock Off, Breaking Swipe, Dragon Tail, Outrage, Dragon Breath, Dragon Pulse, Draco Meteor, Dragon Energy, Clangorus Soul
Removed Moves: Stored Power, Psychic Noise, Expanding Force, Psyshock, Psychic, Zen Headbutt, Psychic Fangs, Calm Mind, Bulk Up, Drain Punch, Focus Blast
This mon is pretty strong all-around, particularly with Dracogenesis, but the biggest problem here is definitely its access to Clangorous Soul. Please remove that move.

Name: Amounguh
Typing: Dragon/Steel
Abilities: Multiscale, Natural Cure, Heavy Metal(HA)
Stats: 127/99/79/111/65/69

New Moves: Anchor Shot, Draco Meteor, Breaking Swipe, Earthquake, Sludge Bomb, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Surf, Hydro Pump, Flash Cannon, Steel Beam, Heavy Slam, Iron Head, Iron Tail, Spiky Shield, Mirror Shot, Dragon Pulse, Shockwave, Icy Wind, Water Pulse
Removed Moves: Spore, Energy Ball, Seed Bomb, Bullet Seed, Synthesis, Stun Spore, Leaf Storm, Giga Drain, Grass Knot, Absorb, Grassy Terrain, Ingrain, Magical Leaf, Mega Drain, Pollen Puff, Rage Powder
This is a trade machine into the current top tiers. Please lower bulk a little bit.

Name: Jiralaguff (Jigglypuff +Nuralagus)
Original Pokémon: Scream Tail
Typing: ==
Abilities: Healer/Sand Rush/Regenerator
Stats: 120/45/64/60/135/78
New Moves: Earth Power, Sand Tomb, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Shore Up, Twister, Hurricane, Scorching Sands
Removed Moves: All Psychic, Water, and Ice coverage except for Psychic Noise
This mon has everything going for it, with the best typing in the game, insane special bulk, probably the single strongest defensive ability ever in Regenerator, AND reliable recovery. Please remove Regenerator, lower Special Defense by about 40 points, and then perhaps increase Special Attack to the 75-80 range, as right now this mon is incredibly passive in spite of its typing.

Name: Ferrodon (Ferrum + Mastodon)
Original Pokemon: Great Tusk
Typing: Steel / Fighting
Abilities: Iron Barbs / Battle Armor / Filter
Stats: 115 / 101 / 121 / 53 / 73 / 67 | 530
New Moves: Iron Tail, Metal Burst, Gyro Ball, Iron Defense
Removed Moves: Headlong Rush, Temper Flare, Ice Spinner, Supercell Slam, Fire Fang, Ice Fang
After further consideration, I think this mon's defensive profile is too good. Please lower its Defense by 10-15 points.

Name: Mammolten (3.3/3) (Mammoth / Molten)
Original Pokemon: Great Tusk
Typing: 1719593231939.png / 1719593198392.png
Abilities: Gooey / Soulblaze (!)
Stats: 90 / 60 / 120 / 120 / 60 / 50 (530 bst)
New Moves:
Fire (Mammolten Only): Flamethrower, Lava Plume, Fire Blast, Overheat, Fire Spin
Ground: Melt Away (!!, Mammolten Only), Scorching Sands
Other: Tar Shot, Shadow Ball, Shadow Claw, Astonish, Poltergeist, Hex, Clear Smog, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Gunk Shot
Removed Moves: Every Fighting, Ice, and Steel, Rapid Spin (Mammolten Only), Headlong Rush
This mon is really overtuned, with great bulk, a stellar offensive typing, an ability that provides the single best resistance in the entire meta, and Rapid Spin that Tar Shots the opponent to top it all off. Please lower Special Attack a lot (at least 15 points) to balance out the powerful signature move, and lower its Defense by around 5 points as well.

Abilities: Rain Dish, Rock Head
Stats: 113 | 131 | 117 | 59 | 53 | 71 [BST= 540]
Added Moves: Aqua Cutter, Aqua Ring, Aqua Tail, Chilling Water, Dive, Hydro Pump, Life Dew, Muddy Water, Surf, Water Spout, Rain Dance, Waterfall, Wave Crash
Removed Moves: Headlong Rush, Ice Spinner, Knock Off, Sunny Day, Supercell Slam, Temper Flare
Even without Knock Off and Ice Spinner, drawbackless Wave Crashes and Head Smashes make this mon's offensive profile too strong. Please remove Rock Head. Additionally, while this isn't required, another explosive, physically offensive Fighting type really isn't something the meta needs right now, as both Archeops and Alticombat are very viable offensive tools, making it next to impossible to make a Fighting type in the current meta without breaking the birds by providing a means of overwhelming their checks. For this reason, I highly recommend changing this submission's typing to make it not be a Fighting type.

You will have 24 hours to make necessary changes, and then voting will begin.

!!! VOTING !!!

1720193575965.png

Final Thoughts: God I... dont like most of the Tusk subs. It was tough mainly because I dont like... any of the.
There is no 1. This Mon's Subs are Ass.

2. Eleffigy ( Beaf Cultist )
[ "Hey what if Gallade was like... Actually Good". Only issue I have is that it has Zen Mode, and I wanna use Zen Mode, but Zen Mode is universally ass- oh and the other version of this, Straight Tusk, is way too overtuned and scares me with its 570 bst.]

3. Mammolten ( Nekrow [Myself] )
[ NGL this one of my weakest concepts, its a bit rushed and I think could benefit from a redesign. Im mainly voting for it here because I dont want to just have two votes and the others dont feel as... fun to use really. ]

1720194268955.png

Final Thoughts: Damn, Scream Tail was hard to pick really, opposite problem of Great Tusk, theres were many good designs to sift though.

1. Icaruff ( Beaf Cultist )
[ Meta Leader design that actually feels like a real pokemon that isnt just... numbers. Soul Wind may need a small nerf, but I love what this thing offers and would love to use it. ]
2. Promethipuff ( Nekrow [Myself] )
[ I may have cooked with this one, though I wish there was a better sound move than Hyper Voice that wasnt just fucking BOOMBURST LMFAO ]
3. Crawlipuff ( chemicalmines )
[ Self Explanitory. Paldemons lacks a special bug. This is a special bug. Would it be good for the meta? Im not knowlaugeable enough to know and I rest my case. ]

1720195808028.png

Final Thoughts: God I really wanna #1 Babelaxite, but I cant sadly. The other ones were cool though, alot of diversity with each concept and it felt like theres actual compeition between each one since they are all so different... unlike the Great Tusks subs... which were all "Defensive Ground" or "Absurd Fighting Type"

1. Ungabungus ( Beedos )
[ God I fucking love dark types, they are so unbelieveably busted. and HOH, Neutralizing Gas is awesome at controlling tiers. With High Horsepower to cancel and deny Arch switchins, I... love this thing unironically, and I hope it wins. ]
2. Babelaxite ( Nekrow [Myself] )
[ I am... personally attached to this thing. Its unique, and probably one of my best designs. I cannot put it in #1, but I sure want to because theres so many things this can do and I genuinely would like to use this somewhere else if I cant get this going here.
3. Pteronnet ( Jrdyop )
[ I... really wanna put this as my #1. Matcha Gotcha is the only reason it is not. It does not need Matcha Gotcha, but... damn. This thing is awesome. It doesnt even need First Flight, but it works so well flavor wise. I think if it just had Matcha dropped, it could work wonders. ]
4. Tonnetax ( Ubertrainer4000 )
[ Its a Fire Type with Powder. I dont need to say anything else, this thing is awesome. Have 1 point as like an Honorable Mention. ]
