Early Playoff Thoughts:
Lakers Timberwolves is the only 1st round series I'll really care about watching
(I'm not a lakers fan). No surprise that ratings are up after the luka doncic trade. Similiar to last year I believe the second round will be the best of the playoffs (remember that dallas-thunder and minni-denver series?) Game 6 or 7 in knicks pistons should be legendary. Seeing the euphoria of Pistons fans on the internet and the knicks fans going nuts both make me equally happy. I have clippers winning against the nuggets but if it goes the other way I wouldn't be surprised. I watched the 1st half of the thunder anhilating the grizzlies. Oh man...shai isn't playing great... then the bench and hartenstein don't miss a shot and are stripping the ball handlers almost every possession.
For this last month my conference finals prediction remains to be:
Thunder, Warriors, Cavs, Celtics
MVP belongs to Jokic but they will give it to Shai.

Pistons can really win this series. The Knicks' offense has been a mess for the majority of the quarters played up to this point. They just need to sharpen the offense a bit.

if there were any justice in the world they would give MVP to the correct player every year but alas we do not live in that world. Jokic has three already which is likely the max the voting committee is going to give to anyone in the modern era considering LeBron has four. And even if they give Jokic a fourth there's no way they're ever giving him a fifth because Jordan has five.

It'd probably be a fun exercise to go back and see who actually "deserves" MVP every year though. I'm not looking too deep into this but I imagine you take away the Barkley/Malone 97 MVPs and give them to Jordan. The 04-06 ones stick out like I sore thumb with KG and then Steve Nash back to back. I would think at least two of those go to Kobe. LeBron should probably have at least one if not two more somewhere along the way. In the last ten years there's probably been some injustices too (the one that comes to mind is the year Jokic got MVP when the Nuggets were the six seed lol) but like I said this is not a comprehensive exercise.

I think the reason Nash won MVP was because he took a horrible team to one of the best in the west (or maybe the best) and helped create a revolutionary offense. I think this reasoning can be applied to the Nuggets, where its well known without Jokic they are a high lottery team and with him a championship contender EVERY YEAR. He's 30-10-10 with insane efficiency as well.

Say what you want about Reddick and Luka's defense and the refs but that was an amazing game. I picked the Lakers and was rooting for them but how can you not fall in love with the team with naz reid.
