TV & Films Recommendations for the week of March 2nd to March 8th
Movies
#Saburo
Film: Millennium Actress (2001)
Genre: Anime, Animation, Drama, Fantasy, Romance
IMDb Synopsis: A TV interviewer and his cameraman meet a former actress and travel through her memories and career.
Sab's Note: If you liked Perfect Blue and Paprika, you'll probably enjoy this too. It's a bit different in how it tells the story compared to Satoshi Kon’s other films, but the storytelling here is masterfully beautiful and tragic.

Film: Petite Maman
Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Coming of Age
SBS Synopsis: Nelly, an eight-year-old girl, has just lost her beloved grandmother and is helping her parents clean out her mother's childhood home. One day, her mum abruptly leaves, and Nelly meets a girl her age as she's building a tree house in the woods.
Aly's Note: French movie I watched a while back for free on SBS on Demand. It's not a long movie (runtime is roughly 1 hour & 10 minutes) but it's enjoyable and can be a little emotional.
Television
#Soft Flex
Show: Physical: 100
Genre: Game Show, Reality TV
Description: A hundred athletes from across South Korea compete to determine which discipline can produce the greatest all-around physical specimen in a series of strength, endurance and speed-related contests.
I hadn't kept up on news of future seasons until today, but if the rumours of the confirmed Season 3 are true, the show could be expanding to include athletes from all across Asia, which opens up a wide range of possibilities for contestants that might appear.

Show: The Bear
Genre: Psychological Drama, Comedy
IMDb Synopsis: A young chef from the fine dining world returns to his family's sandwich shop.
Parker's Point: This show is incredibly powerful and a perfect look at culinary jobs, even just line cooking. 8.5/10 so far, no notes.
+Lucy the Valiant
Show: Gotham
Genre: Action, Crime, Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Thriller, Police Procedural
9now Synopsis: The origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes. Told through the eyes of Detective Gordon as he rises from rookie to Police Commissioner.
Aly's Note: I found this the other day while browsing 9now (free Australian on-demand service). I'm not very far into season 1 but I'm already pretty hooked onto the show.
