Welcome to OMPL Fantasy Football! This is a project where you and a team of other "managers" will draft players from this year's OMPL draft to make your own fantasy league, and go head-to-head with other managers to win the most points. If you would like to sign up as a fantasy manager, please read this thread. Yes, before you ask, this is just prediction contests but whimsical.
- There will be eight fantasy teams, with up to 3 participants each. Solo signups are allowed, but group signups will be given priority.
- At least one manager from each team is required to participate in the draft.
- You must draft at least 8 players.
- You may draft players for any tier; you are not required to fill out metagame slots.
- You may not be a fantasy manager while managing an OMPL team.
- Managers will have a budget of 100k. Players participating in OMPL may self-buy for 13.5k. Please send all self-buys to April before the draft commences. If you do not get picked to play in OMPL, these points will be refunded.
- Managers must pick a lineup of eight players (or, as many currently remain in the tournament) to track points for each week and send it to April before the week starts. Given you don't have to deal with the other stressors of managing, you are expected to do this as long as your team is still in the tournament. If you don't think you can do this zero-effort task, don't sign up.
- Managers must keep track of their own players' points. Log all points in this thread by the end of the week.
The Point System
Fantasy players will be scored based on three criteria.
Winning a game (or, for Bo3 players, winning a set) provides FIVE points each game.
KOing an opposing Pokemon provides ONE point per Pokemon. Pokemon revived via Revival Blessing do not contribute to this counter.
Using a Pokemon for the first time in a given tier provides ONE point, with a maximum of six per game. Copying an opposing Pokemon with Transform or Imposter does not count as a unique use. For Bo3 or multitier players, this only factors in the first tier played. Tiebreaker games are not counted.
Act calls and substitutions do not count toward the point total.
This point system ensures that even a losing matchup brings value to a team, keeping the league competitive and providing some extra strategy to fantasy drafts. Notably, a player with a decent winrate who mostly uses standard teams is roughly equal to a player with a slightly worse winrate who's known for using creative Pokemon and sets. Keep this in mind when you're drafting!
