Project SS National Dex OU Teambuilding Competition

This is a revamp of an old ladder stall I built back in 2022 (Yup i was a big staller back then too lol) where the concept was to just to wear down Cosmic Power Mew checks via attrition.

Fairly Standard Cosmic Power Mew set. Clefable runs Rocky Helmet to be more consistent into Weavile, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Charizard X compositions. Toxic allows Clefable to put a timer on really scary breakers such as Victini, Rillaboom, and Blaziken. Flamethrower on Clefable maintains matchups into Steel-types such as Mega Scizor and Kartana. Shedinja is Swords Dance to defeat Tapu Fini and SD Gliscor. Standard Gliscor, Standard Chansey, Standard Mega Sableye.

They really gave mew a whole z move, its effect is pretty neat too. Genesis supernova being able to re-up terrain and potentially get a kill is super cool, especially with the double dance set. Specs lele can punch holes making mew more able to just need polish. Heatran can take advantage of the steels which give the cat and lele trouble while popping up rocks. Mega-aero is a hard check to lopunny, charizard, heatran and has the capacity to break. Scarf gren can get spikes and revenge kill koko, lop, weakened volc and gren. Passho lando is a weird crack set which lives gren hydro from full with passho and can fog or kill it since the team is kinda weak to it.

Never played this tier before but thought it would be cool to try. So, I made this generic Mew lead HO with some definitive inspiration from a particular ORAS OU HO. Enjoy!!!
:Mew::Kommo-o::Volcarona::Celesteela::Aerodactyl-Mega::Serperior:
:Mew: runs the standard lead set, though as you can see, the team is somewhat weak to Greninja and Weavile. To help mitigate this, you can use Thunder Wave alongside a Colbur Berry to cripple them for its teammates. This also is useful against threats like opposing Volcarona and Mega Charizard X. Will-O-Wisp is an alternative option that cripples Weavile as well as other physical attackers like Mega Scizor and Mega Lopunny. However, Taunt is definitely preferred for preventing Defog or stopping setup.
:Kommo-o: + :Volcarona: + :Celesteela: are all setup sweepers and wincons. On Kommo-o, you definitely want to run Taunt to block Toxic and recovery moves, but you can also opt for Clangorous Soul + Drain Punch if you're committed to a setup route and are comfortable handling threats like Toxapex and Gliscor.
:Aerodactyl-Mega: is primarily used for Speed control, as it outspeeds threats like Mega Lopunny, Weavile, Tapu Koko, and opposing Serperior (even Ash Greninja, though you typically wouldn’t try to take it on due to Water Shuriken). Its also a great late-game cleaner and can check Volcarona.
:Serperior: another Speed control option and wincon.

LET'S GOOOOOOOO

Amazing submissions this cycle. I won't lie to you- I had zero clue that Mew got a Z crystal until checking the posts. Runo loading stall (shocker) and TWO Mega Aerodactyls???? What is in the air. Anyways, without further ado, please vote for your next Cycle Champion!

Your winner of Cycle 15 is
Mewium Z Catastrophe by Xurkiyee! Congratulations!

For the sixteenth cycle, we'll be running another poll. Weavile, as the runner up, will remain on the sheet, but Porygon-Z will be delayed onto another poll down the line.

Please vote in this format:

Second Most Preferred:
Least/Third Most Preferred:

Option 1: Heatran!

One of my personal favorites and an absolutely biased inclusion, Heatran is one of the all-time greats of competitive Pokemon. Its had its ups and downs, but it remains a stalwart bastion against The Moth and an amazingly consistent offensive presence, especially with access to a Z Crystal. With great supportive moves and great coverage alongside an absurdly powerful move in Magma Storm, Heatran's almost never going to find itself out of a niche. Flex your creative muscles and get this frog some showtime!

Option 2: Gliscor!

Across the world, there are many names for a devil. Lucifer. Chernabog. Ahriman. Gliscor.

There are just as many tales of scorpions.

It is said that Gliscor once asked Heatran for a ride across the Dexit magma river to cross over to Galar. Heatran protested. "You shall simply Earthquake me, and we will both surely drown." "It would not be in my best interest." Gliscor claimed. The next turn came to pass, and Gliscor rode upon Heatran's back. As Heatran swam through the magma, he realized ahead of him were several Stealth Rocks. Before he could react, he felt the destructive quake upon his back, and he was cast into the pits of magma. "You fool!" he shouted, bellowing at the top of his lungs. "Now we shall both surely drown!"

Gliscor used U-turn, and returned safely to the Alolan shores.

Do you think you have what it takes to make a deal with the devil?

Option 3: Weavile!

Weavile! Same as they ever were. They knock, it comes off. Ice moves to slay the beast hit Gliscor! Wonderful, amazing, consistent. Lovely to see. Love this guy. We all love Weavile. Great guy. Super fun to build around and in contention for the best mon of the Fairy gens. Also, the female sprite for Weavile is different? This is something I never knew actually. Awesome stuff.

Voting closes Saturday, May 31. May the best mon win!

Sorry for the delay, but with 6 Votes, Weavile will be our next mon!

:ss/weavile:

Boasting a high attack stat on top of powerful stabs, Weavile has cemented itself in the tier as a metagame staple, being able to use both Choice Band and Swords Dance sets to great avail. Its excellent natural speed helps it outspeed a lot of the tier, while being able to threaten common defensive Pokemon such as Gliscor and Landorus-T with strong Triple Axels, while also getting strong priority in Ice Shard and the ability for choice locked sets to trap with Pursuit. How will you build around this metagame titan?

Submissions close Thursday 11th May. Have fun!
