Lower Tiers World Cup is a new tournament that focuses on tiers from RU to ZU. For more information on the slots in the tournament, prizing, and more, please check out the tournament announcement!

Since this is the first edition of Lower Tiers World Cup, there are no teams that will be grandfathered in. If you have pre-existing eligibilities for World Cup of Pokemon, those eligibilities will carry over to Lower Tiers World Cup. Since there are no qualifying rounds, this tournament will start in pools and then will progress into a normal playoffs bracket.

We will be accepting teams on a first come first serve basis, with an undecided number of teams getting the opportunity to participate, depending on how hosts can make the pools work. We will try to accommodate as many teams as possible, however, but signing up early is the best way to reserve your team's spot in this tournament. Additionally, as this tournament will be following the rules of World Cup of Pokemon, we will not be allowing alternative versions of teams (such as Spain #2) or expanded/multi-country teams (such as Spain + Portugal or Benelux). The teams for the United States will be allowed to be split into US Midwest, US Northeast, US South, and US West, as is standard in World Cup of Pokemon.

Teams will be allowed to have three captains. The hosts will be allowed to play or captain a team, but will be forced to recuse themselves from any decisions that involve themselves as a team or that can provide their team a competitive advantage.

After signing up, Captains are required to dm one of the hosts a preliminary roster, which can be subject to change, so that the host team can verify that they will be able to field the 12-15 players necessary to create a team. The easiest way to get in contact with the hosts (or to generally ask questions about the tournament) is over discord. The link to the discord is below.

With that out of the way, the deadline for captains to sign up for the tournament is Sunday, June 8th, at 11:59 PM GMT-4. Earlier signups, however, will have a higher chance at making it into the tournament, so it is beneficial for prospective captains to sign up early.

Please only post in this thread if you are managing. Messages not pertaining to signing up as a manager will be deleted. Good Luck!
