Another simple question entered my head - for tournament structure, why not take advantage of draft pools for pool play in the first few rounds? I know Ghosting Tour had a format like this, but not exactly. Structure below:
1.) Start with pool play with the teams in your draft pool. Week 1 is a random opponent from your pool.
2.) Week 2 opponents are split into random winners and losers still from your pool.
3.) Week 3 opponents get split again. 2-0 opponents play for a bye in the knockout stage. 1-1 opponents play for a right to play in R1 of the knockout stage. Two wins from the pool guarantees entrance into the knockout rounds. 0-2 players can play if they want or we just let them out of their misery. TBD.
4.) Randomized single elimination knockout from there.
Would something like this work? I just sense that we throw away the chances for natural rivalries that build up during the drafting process.
which gen?I haven’t been able to find many resources about the general point range of Tapu lele and naganadel. Out of curiosity, where would they be ranked on a doubles draft board
Essentially nat dexwhich gen?
Naga 16-18Essentially nat dex
Hello! Here is a link to a page with the rules, but I'll also put the things you mentioned down here:I was looking at some sample draft boards for Nat Dex gen 9 draft to cook up a tier list for my league with non-sweaty friends.. Specifically for Nat Dex II sample draft, I couldn't find any battle rules or complex bans anywhere (i may be blind idk).. If anyone knows what any of the rules or complex bans are for that tier list so I can have some context for why certain mons are in the tiers they are in, that would be awesome. Thank you in advance!
Base assumptions I have from looking at the list-
-tera is either banned or completely open+preview (no tera tax/tera tags in rosters)(prob banned?)
-only complex bans I see are last respects/shed tail (maybe revival blessing bc rabsca is so low but pawmot feels slightly low/correct)
-complex ability+niche move bans are tough to gauge (mega blastoise and kangaskhan are banned likely for SS and s-toss/p-u-p? among others that might have bans like maybe take heart manaphy?)
Helps greatly! thank you!Hello! Here is a link to a page with the rules, but I'll also put the things you mentioned down here:
1. Yes, tera is fully banned
2. Last Respects, Shed Tail, and Hidden Power are the only banned moves, with Power Construct being the only banned ability
3. Yes, Mega Blastoise and Kangaskhan are both banned due to shell smash and stoss respectively, this is to limit pokemon specific complex bans as much as possible, hence why all other complex bans are either blanket moves bans or still allow the use of Zygarde forms since they can exist without power construct. In tiering we generally try and avoid as many complex bans as possible, as you can see opting instead to ban pokemon outright even if one move is what makes them broken.
Hope this helps!
