Project SV OU Teambuilding Competition (Indigo Disk Edition) (Week 20: Tornadus Therian)

What's a better way to start the rebirth of this little project than a Kirby reference

Week 17:CROWNED
Silly Clown.png

Sprite from The PMD Sprite Repository
Created by Just_Tr4sh

Iron Crown's shallow movepool and mixed bag of a typing, at first glance doesn't seem very appealing. However the moves within that shallow pool are enough to make Iron Crown a versatile threat with three sets emerging as standard(Calm Mind, Choice Specs, and Assault Vest). Whether Iron Crown is hitting hard with Choice Specs, pivoting and comboing with teammates with Assault Vest, or cleaning up weakened teams with Calm Mind, Iron Crown fits on many an offense team and has proven to be a good albeit less flashy choice for many builders. However Iron Crown isn't limited to these sets and particularly creative team builders might see some STORED potential within this robot from a distant future.

Deadline is May 12 2025 (or 1 Week from this Monday to build)

This team kinda focuses around specs crown and its ability to just muscle through a lot of stuff, it can take advantage of burnt ting lu, clefable wanting to switch into samu-h, garganacl vs dragapult, and it can take advantage often times how ting lu is often the crown switch in, with tera steel you can really chunk a lot of stuff for late game sweeps

AV samu-h allows the team to not get bullied by darkrai and also allows spikes to go up which is crucial in allowing iron crown to chip the mons it wants to chip. I liked helmet rotom-w last to be able to help with stuff like knock off, spin, and wear down stuff like corviknight, treads, gambit into specs taychon

This was originally a team i had plans for in the future, but atm it just kinda did meh for me.
1746426988802.png
wasn't actually the one I built the team around at first, instead being
1746426921803.png
and how funny specs is sometimes. There was for a time competition between
1746426988802.png
and
1746427184247.png
for the role, but I chose
1746426988802.png
simply for the fact that
1746426921803.png
busted my balls the entire time.
1746426988802.png
's set was interchangeable with both AV and CM booster speed being used. Would be neat to try it again though. Double AV seems kinda weird, but you'd also have to realize the team had its shit kicked in by
1746426921803.png
1746427184247.png
1746426995171.png
, so realistically this was probably for the best. Peaking low 1800s is good enough

Btw Tera dragon on
1746426931018.png
with close combat can be considered over rocks if you really hate

lo pult + specs crown voltturn
https://pokepast.es/bf0c48fbed931b60

Imma be fr, Crown is so underwhelming in this meta, but this structure was the most consistent I could run it on. You can never go wrong with the classic Storm Zone core of Lokix/Crown/Mola/Tusk. I went with Boots Lokix since Helmet Tusk can struggle spinning vs certain spike stacking builds, and it prevents Lokix from being fodder after First Impression. LO Pult is a demon, it ruins Stall/BO/Webs while being useful for rkilling stuff. I rarely use Defensive Tusk, but I felt it was necessary to scave off Gambit since our team has no answers into it. Plus Helmet forces Gambit for Crown’s benefit.

Kyurem and other special threats are painful to deal with, so Mola is AV. Body Slam punishes annoying Wellspring.

Week 18: THE NEUTRALISING EFFECT

:sv/weezing galar:

Galarian Weezing has had a monumental rise recently. With neutralising gas, it can counter a large variety of the meta, include samurott hisui, garganacl, gliscor and even the ability to defog on gholdengo. It can also utilise its other abilities in levitate and misty surge to catch opponents off guard, but typically these are much more niche. Geezing does have multiple unique coverage options, from strange steam, to sludge bomb, to thunderbolt to even fire blast. It even has cool utility options such as haze, destiny bond, toxic, memento, taunt and toxic spikes. However, geezing does have pretty low bulk even invested, and while its typing offers many useful resistances, it has just as many weaknesses. How will you properly support this english fellow?

Deadline is May 26 2025 (or 1 Week from this Monday to build)

Well, two and a half weeks without teams, I'll just bring a compilation of functional ideas that work very well within their niche.
Waterpon lead for Waterpon lead reasons.
G-Wee Specs KO bulk Dengo and 15/16 fav roll for max HP Gambit with Overheat.
Tera Shadow Ball 2HKO standard G-King, who can't recover HP if it leaves the field in front of G-Wee.
And that's my Corvi momentum. Clear Amulet against Parting Shot, and min speed for underspeed Lu for 1 point.
Hamurott Scarf is hot for Dragapult and dedicatedly Waterpon.
Copycat Clef beats any Garganacl variant and Tusk is Tusk.

Bonus team for those who aren't afraid of Ability Shield Gholdengo :Blissey::dondozo::gliscor::weezing_galar::corviknight::kingambit:

I kinda forgot I had this team but here it is:
:weezing-galar: :gliscor: :slowking: :kingambit: :zamazenta: :garganacl:
Gweezing, Gliscor and Slowking make up the defensive core of this team.
Gweezing is the defogger. Simple enough.
Gliscor is the Bolt check of the team. 96 Speed EVs to outspeed 252 speed Bolt. SD Knock + EQ is a potent combo.
Slowking is our Sp. Def wall + only Sp. Attacker. Future Sight combos well with Zam's CC. TWave for speed control, Flamethrower for Corv, Chilly is pretty obvious. Used over Glowking since we don't want to stack ground weaknesses here.
Bulky Gambit is our late game sweeper.
Zamazenta is just a fantastic attacker, deals with Pokemon like Darkrai easily.
Garganacl is here for rocks and to patch up against weaknesses like Moltres and Moth.

:heatran: :weezing galar: :lokix: :dragonite: :ting lu: :slowking galar:

Pretty standard-ish geezing balance team here. Tera blast fairy heatran can pack quite the punch and helps into MU's such as Dragonite that these sorta of teams might otherwise struggle with. Rest of the team is standard. Geezing has the standard defog set to help out the rest of the team, lokix is the main offense killer and breaker of the team, dragonite can help against offense while doing well defensively, ting lu is ting lu, it can get up hazards easily, and AV gking can tank special hits well and fire back with strong attacks.
