How many pre-evolutions do you think CAP 36 should have (None, One, or Two), and why?

This thread will be open for 24 hours, at which point we will open the poll for this stage. Please remember that usual rules against one-liners are still in effect for this thread!

We should have no prevos.

We have a 600 bst, which is reserved for legendaries, mythicals, and psuedo legends (and archaludon I guess), the former two having no prevos. This design absolutely gives off legendary/mythical vibes, sorta reminds me of Volcanion, which is a mythical. Also aligns with Meloetta, the mon we are taking the form change from, and Venomicon, the other CAP with a form change.

my personal take is None, this CAP seems to have a very Mythical-esque design and gimmick (I mean it shares the gimmick with Meloetta) and the 600 BST is very much reserved for special Pokemon like Legendaries, Mythicals or Pseudos and this design doesn't particularly lend itself to Pseudo Legendary status but rather lends itself much more to Mythical Pokemon and especially Minor Legendaries like Heatran and Volcanion that both also have the base 600 stat total. my argument against it having one pre-evolution is that the only Base 600 Legendary/Mythical that has a pre-evolution is Melmetal which has special circumstances being from Pokemon Go and also being a clear standout from all other Pokemon generally.

None or One, leaning towards One

While Meloetta establishes a precedent for being a single stage, plenty of form changing mons have prevolutions, and multiple side legendaries/mythicals (which this mon resembles) especially in recent times have pre-evolutions or "mini" forms (Urshifu, Terapagos, Melmetal, etc.) I could easily see this pokemon having a baby form especially since its more animalistic like Urshifu.

Speaking as the artist, my vote goes to None. The way I see it, this CAP is either a legendary or mythical Pokemon, an ancient warrior who awakens when the need is greatest. There is precedent for legendaries having prevolutions, yes, but these are typically given to legendaries where raising them to full strength is the focus of the story (i.e. Cosmog, Kubfu)―which is not exactly the vision I had for this one. As far as I'm concerned, this CAP has been protecting his homeland for a long, long time, long before the hypothetical player character showed up.

I thought this was a our take on a mythical Pokémon. Now, while legendary adjacent Pokémon have been getting Evolutions as of recently, but this reads as a Mythical Pokémon to me, this I feel we should keep it as a Single Stage Mon.

None or One, leaning towards none.

Just gonna start by establishing that it seems clear most of us, including the artist, have jumped on the Mythical bandwagon, so drawing upon current precedent, there has yet to be a Mythical within the mainline games (Meltan->Melmeltal is the sole outliner, and I'm personally of the opinion that it's originates from a side game and thus does not count as mainline-esk) who evolve. There are numerous examples of Mythicals with form changing gimmicks, though (Deoxys, Arceus, Meloetta, Hoopa) so there's that,

The reason why I can understand and support one pre-evo is mostly due to Manaphy & Phione, and while I doubt we want that debate on CAP here, there is a... technical basis for a 'smaller form' that we might as well consider to be related as an evolution.

None. As everyone has said already, a lot of the details about this Pokémon point to legendary or mythical, what with 600 BST + a signature move and form change. The form change in particular is the part where I feel adding a prevo feels off. Adding a prevo turns 36a into a weird "middle ground", where it's supposed to be a culmination of the prior Pokémon's growth and completion, while also having a second form that somehow has to be even MORE of a completion to said arc while lacking the finality and growth that something like a mega evolution would have.

None. As others have said here this is essentially CAP's first ever mythical (that's crazy to think about since CAP has been around since 2008). It should just be the one antelope

This being practically a Mythical in terms of feel and stat spread, I think None would be best - the form change is already more than enough to set it apart. There could be a case for One but I feel it'd be a tad on the flimsy side, especially with said form change being taken into account.

My precedent here is either Urshifu with Kubfu, legendary pokémon in a 2 stage family line that evolves into either form, and Meltan and Melmetal ,which even though has an unconvential way of evolving, it does evolve.
CAP 36's 600 BST, an important benchmark in Pokemon, makes the Urshifu comparison null, I don't think that is relevant here. Melmetal also doesn't really evolve from Meltan, at least in the eyes of Smogon. They are treated as two separate Pokemon, sort of like Zygarde-10% and Zygarde. Zero is not only the obvious answer, it should be the only option.
