How to even begin.
I had an absolute blast managing the Drifblims this season, and this group really made my first time as a manager feel special. Y'all are a bunch of yappers and I wouldn't have it any other way. I wish we could've gone a little further, but mons said no this time. This was the NU Friend League, intended to both highlight the rising and underrated stars in our community and, obviously, make friends. I think we accomplished both.
Theycallmephil - I have to start with the goat. In my darkest hour, you answered my call for someone who actually knew what they were doing to co-manage with me, and I'm proud of the squad we put together. Your seat will be waiting next year if you want it.
Zangoose5000 - An excellent performance in your very first team tour! I think you learned a lot about matchups in Bo1, and your consistently great play is a big reason why we made it as far as we did.
Shadow079 - Despite being even younger than Lyra, if the NU community can believe it, you were one of our best players, and someone I wanted on my team from the first time I saw signups. You were an incredibly presence in the Discord, and your offhand joke in the first few days of the season spawned the greatest series of executions Smogon has ever seen. Heat Wave should have 100% accuracy.
DD Joe - Like Shadow, you were a phenomenal personality to have around, and pre-concussion, killing it in SV. It's great to see you show your talent in NU, and I hope to see you around here more going forward.
Jojen - My hero. The man who clutched up as the last match of W5 and won the match that put us into playoffs. Thank you for the hard work this season.
5MGMatthew5 milliongatejumpguy - The rest of our SV crew. If I have one regret from this season, it's not being able to get you guys into the lineup more. Despite that, week after week you helped prep, test teams, and were just generally great to have around.
Lyra - Who else could I have picked to play SS? A key component of our yapping core, and always willing to help out in multiple slots.
Hubriz - Arguably the most established player on our team, yet DDJoe did not know you were a DPP main, and we will not let him forget it. You did fantastic in SM, with very little support, and soldiered on even after your computer exploded.
Abele - Very glad we were eventually able to get you into the lineup, and definitely looking forward to what you do in SM NU going forward.
LessThanThreeMan - We're going to get you a good tournament someday man, I promise. As Shadow mentioned, my secret third manager, you were everywhere in prep, whether it was in teambuilding or testing, and you're always just a great guy to have around for vibes.
Dead by Daylight - You were called upon halfway through the season and you delivered. Several great games and another key component to the endless yapping.
Incognition - Your enthusiasm for BW was obvious from the second you arrived in our server, and I wish some of those games had gone your way. You were constantly building, discussing, and testing, even once you were out of the lineup. 10/10 would draft again.
Cao Jie - You never complained, never wavered, even when I was pulling you back and forth between RBY and BW and pinging you for thoughts on other people's prep. Quieter, in comparison to our team of yappers, but you made your presence felt anyway.
jam - It is so hard to learn a tier on the fly, but once we stopped giving you bad teams you dominated in DPP. To all prospective managers: jam can and will play any oldgen at a high level. Watch out.
Zpice - Speaking of learning a tier on the fly, we dumped you in the single hardest pool of this tournament, and you did as well or better than players that have been doing team tours in this tier for years. Imagine how well you would have done if you weren't exhausted from cricket every time you played...
TG2513 - You were exactly who I wanted for my RBY slot, and it was awesome to show the wider NU community what you can do, even when the rng refused to go your way.
AJ Sir Tetris - We didn't quite manage to get you into a game, but your presence in the teamcord was always appreciated.
PowerOfMemes neomon goldmason BeeOrSomething Wanted in 49 States - Our non-Drifblim helpers, you were always appreciated, and, in many cases, your advice and teambuilding directly resulted in wins. Thanks!
Thank you all for making this such a great season. Go Drifblims, we'll be back.
Edit: As of posting, Drifcord has 27,724 lines.
