Well what can I say, finally a few years later I was also able to win a second individual trophy, especially the one I had been dreaming of for a long time. The smogon tour was my first official tournament where I qualified when I was just starting to play, I still remember I managed to beat abr r1, not that this is a great achievement (love you adamo), only to lose r2 right away, so I seem to have had this desire for revenge in finishing what I had started.
Certainly this time I came in with a lot more experience than in the past, and I can say I am satisfied with how I played my games in these playoffs. it's pointless for me to repeat the same old thing, however really consistency as in all things is important, and a big part of it is also experience. So I recommend to all those new to the game not to avail themselves at the first difficulties, but to keep going because sooner or later the results will come.
I don't like to go on too long, however, there are a bunch of people I would like to thank who have accompanied me these years during this game.

With this, Santu becomes the 16th player to pick up his second individual trophy (17th if you count Frontier I guess). The 15 to do it before him aren't exactly the consensus top-15 of all time, but it's not far off; that list includes 8 of the top ten and an honourable mention in the official list, a banned player who would have ended up top ten, a player who picked up his second trophy after voting was complete, three players who won both their trophies before 2010 and one player who won both trophies the year before that vote was held. Point is, this is rarified air, the kind of feat that vaults players up the all-time rankings.
Tried to pick up some other stats to figure out exactly how big a leap. Among the 16 players with at least two individuals, Santu is 7th in sheet wins and tied for 7th in team tour win percentage; only three such players are ahead of him in both categories while five of them are below in both. His 6 individual quarterfinals tie him with MichaelderBeste, his 3 semifinals tie him with BKC and Ciele, and he becomes one of seven players to make the finals of an individual twice and win both times.

There's not much to say that hasn't already been said. It was clear from the beginning that you were destined for greatness, and this trophy is not only proof of your constant and continuous growth, but yet another demonstration that you belong to that (rare) group of players who are on another level.

You have to hand it to giannis, he’s one of the site’s premiere players when it comes to sportsmanship. He seemed genuinely happy for Santu despite being so close to the trophy. Many players are skilled; very few players are so composed after a loss. That gives me 100% confidence that him winning his first pink trophy is a matter of “when,” not “if.”
