Genesect @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 32 HP / 252 SpA / 224 Spe
Timid Nature
- Zap Cannon
- Blizzard
- Energy Ball
- U-turn

This prehistoric hunter has found its prey in National Dex AAA! No Guard Genesect is a premier offensive pivot, pressuring defensive pieces such as Gliscor, Skarmory, and Mew with the help of its high-Base Power coverage options. Zap Cannon hits Corviknight lacking Volt Absorb and bulky Water-types such as Manaphy and Tapu Fini as well as forcing paralysis onto switch-ins such as Gholdengo and Iron Moth. Blizzard nails usual switch-ins to Genesect’s U-turn such as Gliscor and Zapdos, and Energy Ball hits a would-be check in Swampert. Genesect fits on a wide range of playstyles, from balance to offense, where it can gain momentum for its teammates. Pokemon like Tapu Lele and Victini take advantage of Genesect’s switch-ins such as Pecharunt and Ferrothorn and also appreciate the paralysis support in slowing down revenge killers like Gholdengo. Genesect also appreciates defensive teammates like Tapu Fini and Blissey that can take advantage of its offensive answers such as Cinderace and Walking Wake. In return, Genesect threatens slower wallbreakers that can break through them, such as Tapu Lele and Great Tusk.

Heavy-Duty Boots allows Genesect to pivot freely even in the face of entry hazards, primarily Spikes. Genesect fits on a wide range of playstyles, from balance to offense, where it can gain momentum for its teammates. Pokemon like Zamazenta and Iron Moth take advantage of this momentum on Genesect’s switch-ins such as Ferrothorn and Gholdengo. while these guys are defo good shouts, id feel like slower breakers would be more fitting since the paralysis helps to slow down lets say, scarf ghold for lele, and making it harder to check. Genesect also appreciates defensive teammates like Tapu Fini and Blissey that can take advantage of its offensive answers such as Cinderace and Walking Wake. In return, Genesect threatens slower wallbreakers that can break through them such as Tapu Lele and Great Tusk.

No Guard Genesect is a premier offensive pivot. as it pressures pivot, pressuring defensive pieces such as Gliscor, Skarmory, and Mew with the help of its high-Base Power coverage options. (i assume these help encapsulate the set in comparison to the other sets?) Zap Cannon hits Corviknight lacking Volt Absorb and bulky Water-types such as Manaphy and Tapu Fini as well as Corviknight lacking Volt Absorb, as well as forcing paralysis onto switch-ins such as Gholdengo and Iron Moth thanks to No Guard. Blizzard nails usual switch-ins to Genesect’s U-turn such as Gliscor and Zapdos, and Energy Ball hits a would-be check in Swampert.
