Projects National Dex DOU Teambuilding Competition V2!!!!! (Cycle 5: Other Entry Hazards)

Ting-Lu!
Absurdly fat mon with some of the most unique utility in the tier.
Stealth Rocks of course are valuable, but more value comes from moves like Ruination, which helps chip bulky targets like Kangaskhan, Snarl to pacify special attackers alongside its ability, Whirlwind to force out setup sweepers and more.
And of course, Ting-Lu is an especially excellent Tera abuser, with Tera Poison being notable for Just. Not. Dying.
Submissions are open now, they close at 00:00 on the 28th of July at GMT+1 or when I make the post declaring they are closed, whichever is later.

Stall is generally considered to be too difficult to use to be viable. And thus the ladder is filled with simple people barely superior to beasts, using hyper-offense. Hyper-offense may seem easier to play, but in the long run it is not because by taking the easy route you do not develop skills and without skills about any battle will be more difficult. Not only that, but the lack of stall keeps the metagame simple and primitive thus preventing people who are exposed to it to develop their mental capacities.

This has to change. Stall in NatDex Doubles needs a herald. A master who's mind is so amazing that he can do well with stall even when no one else can. A pioneer who's wisdom exceeds that of all other people around them. Indeed, only I qualify.

So with my stall mind I set to developing a stall team to serve as my tool so that I can serve as herald of stall to the ladder.

And now the time has come. The team is ready. I stopped at 6th place, because I am already the pioneer and herald. Let someone else be the champion. I am humble like that. I present you the team: https://pokepast.es/7d08a2f0415d1f8f

You might be confused. Where is Flutter Mane? What are Stealth Rock and Spikes? Why is there a slug on the team? How can Deoxys do anything useful without attacks? Allow me to explain the ways of this team.

Normally I start with Deoxys and Cresselia to set screens and strategically spam Paralysis. This strategy may seem useless because it does not do damage, but the ways of stall are higher than the ways of hyper-offense so you might need a lot of time to understand. I might use Foul Play and Fake Out to lay down Toxic Spikes if the opponent has a weakness for it.

Cresselia is EVed to be faster than Paralysed Deoxys to heal it before it can get fully paralysed. Incineroar is faster than Wo-Chien so it can Parting Shot to Glimmora before Foul Play hits. Deoxys is EVed to be faster than Deoxys-Attack.
Besides the EVs and Natures neccesary for that all Pokémon have maximised Defences thanks to advanced software.

I know stall is more difficult to use than sun/Trick Room/Tail Wind/whatever hyper-offense but give this team a try. You can always go back to Flutter Mane or Kingambit after you have discovered that you lack the skill to do well with stall.

Whether this team wins this teambuilding competition has little influence on me. To me this is mostly just a test. If this team does not win then I know that NatDex Doubles is not yet ready for the great coming of stall. But I will live in the bliss of stall regardless. You are the main beneficiaries of this revolution but for this revolution to succeed many of you must also be it's benefactors.

:salamence-mega::jirachi::ting-lu::tapu-fini::ogerpon-hearthflame::iron-hands:

The main focus of this team is to help Mence setup. Ting-Lu is more of a cherry on top. Its main roles include reducing the damage of special attacks, removing or assisting against opposing mons, and putting down some hazards (if such an opportunity is given). I figured Fake Out from the opposing team could make my team lose some momentum, so I decided to add Ogerpon for Encore. So far, I think Encore + Hazards is a nasty combination.

:Ting-Lu:
The main guy from the team and a very interesting Mon to build with. Went AV because thats what a) I have the most fun with and b) what I think manages to make the most of what it has. The choosen moves were selected because Ruination is a very good damage option that pair well with Kanga, considering that both do half to anything, Throat Chop was to silence Salamence hyper voice and to not get completely walled by flying types, Stomping Tantrum is very good on AV Ground (Such as Lando-T) because it punishes being faked out into and also pairs nicely with the chance to miss of Ruination. Finally the last move is snarl because it boosts the SpDef to absurd level, both for Ting Lu and its partners.
The EVs let it live 252SpAtk Timid Specs Beads of Ruin Tera Fairy Moonblast

252 SpA Choice Specs Tera Fairy Beads of Ruin Flutter Mane Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 180 SpD Assault Vest Vessel of Ruin Ting-Lu: 420-496 (81.7 - 96.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

or Zardy Heat Wave and Flutter 252 Specs Tera Fairy Moonblast
252 SpA Choice Specs Tera Fairy Flutter Mane Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 180 SpD Assault Vest Vessel of Ruin Ting-Lu: 316-372 (61.4 - 72.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Charizard Heat Wave vs. 252 HP / 180 SpD Assault Vest Vessel of Ruin Ting-Lu in Sun: 76-90 (14.7 - 17.5%) -- possible 6HKO

:Kangaskhan-Mega:
Bulky mega that appreciates the Vessel of Ruin and Snarl Support while also having good synergy with Ting Lu (although both are weak to fighting) because of Stoss and Ruination. The EVs are stolen from Test Bots strategy guide because I suck at EVing Kanga

:Flutter Mane:
Just on the team to lessen that fighting weakness I previously mentioned and be one of the best mons in the tier. You all know what flutter does by now

:Amoonguss:
This team has a good matchup into Mega Mence and is very bulky, so I wanted to add the best support mon of all time to help keep it alive while helping in some matchups (mainly rain and trick room). Again EVs and Moves are stolen from the Strategy guide with the only changes being Giga Drain over some other option such as Sludge Bomb, Clear Smog or Protect to help aliviate the ground weakness from the last mons on the team and tera rock for both Sun and Torn, which I had the inspiration from Astro Nation Shoe tera rock Rillaboom

:Raging Bolt:
Wanted to make the mence and sun matchup better, have a bulky mon and priority because I realized I didnt have speed control so I choose Mr Long Neck itself. Cant speak much on the EVs and Moves because I stole from the schister sample, only that I changed to tera fire because I hate Chien Pao and Flutter+Sun

:Gouging Fire:
I realized that I didnt have a single setup sweeper yet so I searched DDance and realized this guy could be good, pretty standard stuff for an offensive set I think

Ting Lu is a fun mon, I enjoyed this team building comp

I built this really quickly like d1 of tbc, tested it a bit on ladder and it was pretty fun. thought I might use it in swiss so i didn't post til now but it has too many problems i don't feel like fixing.

ting: schister put me on this ground z set and I like it a lot, this team kinda has trouble with jirachi so something like 1 ruination + ground z probably gets you there. nice for stuff like diancie / heatran / etc.

ferro: i wanted a sturdy flutter resist, really like leech seed but it plays a bit weird with ting having whirlwind. you could change this to spikes or iron defense and it probably works ok.

marsh: kind of a fake zard check, but at full health it probably gets it done. same for vs flutter. no sneak is rough, but bluffing it is good enough.

mence: full special, fire blast to hit stuff like ghold / msciz/ gambit / etc. that resist / neutral flying. i think tw is not that necessary except for hands / iirc fini speed tier, could just be roost to be annoying as hell.

fini: cm dkiss with lots of phys bulk is super demonic, won a lot of games off just setting up while an opponent is out of position and not able to threaten it.

iron hands: yeah, it's iron hands. helps with genies / can take on flutter / zard/ bolt kinda. nice to set up with fini / hazards / seed

Why is Ferrothorn not Relaxed instead of Impish to power up Gyro Ball?

Smudge wins, their team will be added to the hall of fame.

Not-stealth-rocks-entry-hazards! By this I mean your team must have at least one entry hazard that is not stealth rocks. You can still include rocks if you like but that there must still be a different type of hazard.
Entry hazards are a common move on many Pokémon, with the most common being stealth rocks for a variety of reasons such as breaking chien pao's focus sash or chipping down foes like non-boots incineroar.
Toxic spikes are great for wearing down bulkier mons like iron hands, rillaboom and mega Kangaskhan, but in this metagame are almost exclusively set by glimmora's toxic debris ability.
Spikes are occasionally used on ting-lu on bulky structures, and dealing damage regardless of the enemy's type is good for breaking through certain targets. Spikes can also be stacked, which is easy with ting-lu's absurd bulk and it can even phaze enemies to cause even more hazard damage.
Sticky webs are by far the rarest form of hazard, with the most viable setter being araquanid (because it learns wide guard, which admittedly isn't much of a boon). Webs have value in making fast frail targets into just frail targets, such as flutter mane and marshadow, but being unable to slow flying targets like mega salamence is often annoying.
