Nidoking has a niche as a balance breaker, using its incredible wallbreaking potential to punish many common defensive Pokemon like Gliscor, Toxapex, Gholdengo, and Ferrothorn. Ice Beam ensures opposing Ground-types like Gliscor, Landorus-T, and Garchomp cannot enter the field safely while also hitting Zapdos and Dragonite super effectively. Flamethrower allows Nidoking to hit Ferrothorn, Celesteela, and Corviknight. Life Orb enhances Nidoking's power, with Sheer Force negating its recoil.

Nidoking is almost exclusively used on bulky offense teams, as they value its ability to punish common defensive cores like Gliscor + Toxapex. These types of teams can also compensate for Nidoking's frailty with pivots such as Alomomola, Tornadus-T, Zapdos, Slowbro, and Corviknight. Teammates like Tapu Lele, Zamazenta, and Terapagos value Nidoking's ability to punish or threaten their checks like Gholdengo, Corviknight, Galarian Slowking, and Pecharunt. In return, Terapagos provides entry hazard removal for Nidoking to help its longevity while Zamazenta and Tapu Lele handle Ting-Lu. Despite being a Ground-type, Nidoking’s frailty means it is unable to switch reliably into threats like Raging Bolt, Tapu Koko, and Zapdos, so it appreciates teammates like Ferrothorn and Heatran. Nidoking is vulnerable to Pokemon like Landorus-T, Ogerpon-W, and Urshifu-R due to its middling Speed tier; therefore, partners like Tornadus-T, Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, and Tapu Koko are appreciated to revenge kill these threats. Nidoking appreciates teammates like Ogerpon-W due to its ability to pressure Ting-Lu. In return, Nidoking is able to break through its checks like Pecharunt and Dragonite.

Therefore, it appreciates teammates that can get it in safely, such as Alomomola, Gliscor, Slowbro, and Corviknight. Due to Nidoking’s frailty, it is a Ground-type that is unable to check switch into it's a pretty decent offensive check to Bolt and Koko you just can't safely switch in. threats like Raging Bolt, Tapu Koko, and Zapdos, so it appreciates Pokemon like Ferrothorn and Gliscor as a partner. Nidoking also has a very middling speed tier, leaving it vulnerable to Pokemon like Landorus-T, Ogerpon-W, Urshifu-R; therefore, partners like Tornadus-T, Choice Scarf Tapu Lele and Tapu Koko are appreciated. I would move the pivots you mention below (in the brackets) over to here and reword it since not only does it help make reading the analysis easier they are also extremely important to what Nidoking can do, even more than the offensive partners Teammates such as Tapu Lele and Zamazenta value Nidoking's ability to punish Pokemon such as Gholdengo and Corviknight. In return, Nidoking is able to break through their checks like Mega Latios for Ogerpon-W and Corviknight and Zapdos for the former two could add Pecha > Corv if you wanted a harder pon check but it’s not necessary.
