Set Description
=============
Choice Specs Primarina crucially allows it to pick up the OHKO versus bulky Garchomp that can threaten other Primarina sets, as well as non-Assault Vest Metagross and stall Kyurem, which pose to threaten Primarina's other sets. Primarina leverages its typing to defeat powerful Ground, Dragon, and Fire types like Landorus-T, Regidrago, Volcarona, as well as both Urshifu formes. Hydro Cannon and Moonblast are strong STAB moves. Ice Beam defeats Assault Vest Landorus-T, as Landorus-T can use Knock Off against Primarina to survive Hydro Cannon, then KO it with Earthquake. Sparkling Aria defeats Pressure Stall Entei, and Energy Ball allows Primarina to beat Assault Vest Azumarill, as well as niche Water / Ground types like Swampert and Gastrodon. This also helps in defeating the ever so prominent Water / Fairy types such as Tapu Fini, Azumarill, and opposing Primarina, although this is set-dependent and should not be relied upon as a counter for these Pokemon.

EVs
=============
208 HP and 184 Defense EVs allow Primarina to survive Earthquake from Adamant Choice Band Landorus-T, and Hyper Beam from Timid Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. 16 Speed EVs allow Primarina to outspeed and 2HKO Adamant Steelix. The remaining EVs are put in Special Attack to allow Primarina to deal the most damage.

Usage Tips
=============
Choice Specs Primarina is often straightforward to pilot, however against Choice Scarf Togekiss, Primarina should use Hydro Cannon for the best chance to win, as Ice Beam fails to OHKO. Be wary of Substitute + Disable Dragapult, as Choice Specs locks Primarina into Moonblast, forcing it to use Struggle. Against some Custap Berry Pokemon like Custap Berry Porygon-Z, Choice Specs Primarina can opt to use Moonblast or Sparkling Aria instead of Hydro Cannon to avoid the drawback of the recharge turn of Hydro Cannon as the opposing Pokemon uses Endure. Against stall Azumarill, Choice Specs Primarina should use Moonblast to have a favorible chance to win the matchup, as stall Azumarill is immune to Energy Ball due to Sap Sipper. Against Opposing Primarina, Choice Specs Primarina should use Moonblast to fish for Special Attack Drops against opposing Choice Specs Primarina, as the extra damage from Energy Ball does not matter in the mirror matchup.

[SET COMMENTS]

Set Description
=============
The key selling point of Wacan Berry Primarina is its ability to flip its matchup against Electric-types like non-Assault Vest Zeraora, Magnezone, and Regieleki. Beating Zeraora specifically allows many teams to guess Zeraora's set on team preview, splitting the counters to Zeraora's different sets between multiple Pokemon. An example of this can be Registeel + Wacan Berry Primarina, where Registeel defeats Assault vest Zeraora, and Primarina defeats the other Zeraora sets for the team. Substitute allows Primarina to cut its HP down to reliably activate its Torrent ability, boosting its Hydro Cannon to allow it to KO Pokemon like Zeraora and Zapdos.

EVs
=============
The HP and Defense EVs allow Primarina to survive Poison Jab from Jolly Choice Band Haxorus, and the HP, Special Defense and Speed EVs allow Primarina to survive any move from Regieleki. The remaining EVs are put in Special Attack. An alternate EV spread of 200 HP / 200 Def / 92 SpA / 16 Spe with a Modest nature can also be used, with moves Moonblast, Hydro Cannon, Substitute, and Encore. The combination of the HP and Defense EVs on the alternate EV spread allow Primarina to survive Plasma Fists from Jolly Choice Band Zeraora, leaving it at 26% to allow it to use Substitute, then OHKO on Turn 2 with a Torrent boosted Hydro Cannon. This EV spread also allows Wacan Berry Primarina to have a clean matchup against pressure stall Entei, as the higher Special Attack allows Primarina to break Entei's Substitute. However, Primarina does not reliably defeat Assault Vest Landorus-T with the alternate EV spread, as Primarina is still unable to outspeed it after an Icy Wind.

Usage Tips
=============
The drawback of using the main EV spread is the additional layer of prediction against opposing Zeraora. Primarina, when using the main spread, must use Hydro Cannon Turn 1 against Plasma Fists Turn 1 from both Choice Band and Life Orb Zeraora. However, Since the alternate EV spread will survive Plasma Fists from Jolly Choice Band Zeraora with enough HP afterwards to allow it to use Substitute, Wacan Berry Primarina, when run with its alternate EV spread, should use Substitute Turn 1 on Life Orb Zeraora's potential Knock Off, removing Primarina's Wacan Berry, crucial to the matchup. Using Substitute Turn 1 allows Primarina to defeat Zeraora with the following sequences: If Zeraora uses an attacking move Turn 1, Primarina should continue to use Substitute until reaching the appropriate HP value for a Torrent boosted Hydro Cannon, OHKOing Zeraora. However, if you predict that your opponent's Zeraora is Life Orb + Taunt, and that it will use Taunt Turn 1, Primarina should use Moonblast Turn 1, then Hydro Cannon Turn 2, to avoid losing to Taunt + Plasma Fists twice from Life Orb Zeraora. Unlike the alternate spread, the main spread does not survive Jolly Choice Band Zeraora's Plasma Fists with a high enough HP value to get up a Substitute, so additional prediction is needed against Zeraora.

When using the alternate EV spread, Primarina should use Encore Turn 1 against Entei. If Entei uses Protect Turn 1, use Encore again, then, through a series of Encore and Moonblast breaking Entei's Substitute, Entei reaches a low enough of an HP value that you can then KO it with Moonblast. If Entei uses Toxic or an attacking move Turn 1, Primarina should use Moonblast on turn 2, then Hydro Cannon on turn 3 to secure the KO on Assault Vest Entei.

Be careful against Life Orb Garchomp, as it can use a Swords Dance boosted move to OHKO Primarina, which fails to OHKO Garchomp Turn 1 with Moonblast.

When using the main EV spread gainst Magnezone, Primarina should use Icy Wind Turn 1, then, based on the revealed damage Magnezone does to Primarina belonging from Choice Specs Magnezone or Custap Berry Magnezone, use Icy Wind or Hydro Cannon predicting an Endure or an attacking move from Custap Berry Magnezone respectively. Otherwise, against Choice Specs Magnezone, use Hydro Cannon turn 2.

Against Life Orb Zapdos, Wacan Berry Primarina should use Substitute Turn 1, then OHKO Zapdos with a Torrent boosted Hydro Cannon.

[SET COMMENTS]

Set Description
=============
Primarina may also use Pixie Plate to secure the OHKO against bulky Garchomp while removing Specs Primarina's weakness to Substitute + Disable Dragapult as well as Disable Spectrier. This set allows Primarina to have the best odds against opposing Primarina, although trading its bulk for a high Special Attack stat to be able to do this. Because of this, Pixie Plate Primarina now struggles to deal with Pokemon it previously threatened like Choice Band variants of Urshifu and Landorus-Therian.

EVs
=============
Primarina's HP EVs allow it to survive a Sheer Force Boosted Sludge Wave from Life Orb Landorus. The Speed EVs allow Primarina to outspeed Adamant Rhyperior, and the Special Attack EVs allow for the best odds against opposing Primarina. This also allows Primarina to 2HKO non-specially defensive Aromatisse. The remaining EVs are put in Defense for the best odds against Choice Band Steelix and Life Orb Landorus-T.

Usage Tips
=============
Pixie Plate Primarina should use Icy Wind Turn 1 against Landorus-T, as a non-Torrent boosted Hydro Cannon can fail to OHKO. Pixie Plate Primarina should use Encore Turn 1 against Entei, disallowing it to setup pressure stall Entei's Substitute + Protect + Toxic Strategy. Primarina should use Moonblast Turn 1 against Dragapult. If Dragapult uses Substitute Turn 1, Primarina should then use Encore Turn 2, as a Disable from Dragapult is likely to follow.

Set Description
=============
The key selling point of Wacan Berry Primarina is its ability to flip its matchup against the threatening Zeraora, specifically non-Assault Vest Zeraora, which is vital to allow many teams to allow for a player to "setguess" Zeraora's set on team preview, splitting the counters to Zeraora's different sets between multiple Pokemon. An example of this can be Chansey + Wacan Berry Primarina, where Chansey defeats Assault vest Zeraora, and Primarina defeats the other Zeraora sets for the team. Mention other electrics, and mention the move choices because they are not obvious.

EVs
=============
The HP and Defense EVs allow Primarina to survive Poison Jab from Jolly Choice Band Haxorus. The HP, Special Defense and Speed EVs allow Primarina to survive any move from Regieleki, and OHKO back with Hydro Cannon. The remaining EVs are put in Special Attack. An alternate EV spread of 200 HP / 200 Def / 92 SpA / 16 Spe with a Modest nature allows Wacan Berry Primarina to have a clean matchup against pressure stall Entei, as the higher Special Attack allows Primarina to break Entei's Substitute with Moonblast. what else does the EV spread do / what are its benchmarks? The combination of the HP and Defense EVs allow Primarina to survive Plasma Fists from Jolly Choice Band Zeraora, leaving it at 26% to allow it to use Substitute, then OHKO on Turn 2 with a Torrent boosted Hydro Cannon. this isn't even true for this set - 252 Atk Choice Band Zeraora Plasma Fists vs. 252 HP / 144 Def Wacan Berry Primarina: 237-279 (65.1 - 76.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO.

Usage Tips
=============
The drawback of using the main EV spread is the need of prediction against opposing Zeraora. When using the alternate EV spread, Primarina should use Substitute Turn 1 in order to remove prediction in the matchup, as Life Orb Zeraora uses Knock Off Turn 1, removing Primarina's Wacan Berry to disallow it to reach the desired low HP value for a Torrent boosted Hydro Cannon. The main spread can get around this problem with use of Encore or Substitute Turn 1 on Life Orb Zeraora's Knock Off to allow it to KO Zeraora back on the right turn with a Torrent Boosted Hydro Cannon.. however, this loses to Plasma Fists Turn 1 from both Choice Band and Life Orb Zeraora. i think its overwhelmingly better to sub t1, encore t1 only beats zera with taunt knock specifically. Be careful against Life Orb Garchomp, as it can use a Swords Dance boosted Earthquake to OHKO Primarina, which fails to OHKO Garchomp Turn 1 with Moonblast. not a usage tip - either move to the set description or just remove it When using the main EV spread against Magnezone, Primarina should use Icy Wind Turn 1, then, based on the revealed damage Magnezone does to Primarina belonging from Choice Specs Magnezone or Custap Berry Magnezone, use Icy Wind or Hydro Cannon predicting an Endure or an attacking move from Custap Berry Magnezone respectively. Otherwise, against Choice Specs Magnezone, use Hydro Cannon turn 2.

The Combination of Mental Herb + Icy Wind + Encore allows Primarina to defeat Spectrier, with moves Icy Wind, Encore, Moonblast and Hydro Cannon. Against Spectrier, Primarina should use Encore Turn 1, then Icy Wind three times. Primarina should then use Encore when Encore runs out of turns, and attack with Moonblast in the free turns this generates. However, if Spectrier uses Hex Turn 1, you should wait for the appropriate turn to use a Torrent boosted Hydro Cannon in order to OHKO Spectrier.

Choice Specs Primarina crucially allows it to pick up the OHKO versus bulky Garchomp that can threaten other Primarina sets with a Swords Dance boosted Life Orb Poison Jab (slightly inaccurate, +2 chomp is usually able to kill prim without a lorb and/or with just eq. also chomp might attack turn 1 bc of encore. would just focus the consistency aspect.), as well as non-Assault Vest Metagross and stall Kyurem, which pose to threaten Primarina's other sets. Primarina leverages its typing to defeat powerful Ground, Dragon, and Fire types like Landorus-T, Regidrago, Volcarona, as well as both Urshifu formes. Hydro Cannon and Moonblast are strong STAB moves. Ice Beam defeats Assault Vest Landorus-T (should talk about how landot beats hydro cannon with knock off for new player clarity sake.), Sparkling Aria defeats Pressure Stall Entei and Energy Ball allows Primarina to beat the plethora of niche Water / Ground types like Swampert and Gastrodon. This also helps in defeating the ever so prominent opposing Water / Fairy types such as Tapu Fini, Azumarill, and opposing Primarina, although this is inconsistent set-dependent and should not be relied upon as a check counter for these Pokemon. (part of this would belong in usage tips but talk about the water fairy mirrors in greater detail, eball lets you beat av azu but moonblast still beats band and has favorable odds vs stall. what prims and finis does eball match up well into? etc.)

EVs
=============
208 HP and 184 Defense EVs allow Primarina to survive Earthquake from Adamant Choice Band Landorus-T, and Hyper Beam from Timid Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. 16 Speed EVs allow Primarina to outspeed and 2HKO Adamant Steelix with Ice Beam (steelix can have sitrus so u dont want to leave the reader with the potential implication ice beam is optimal over aria). The remaining EVs are put in Special Attack to allow Primarina to deal the most damage.

Usage Tips
=============
When using Choice Specs Primarina, you should generally use the super effective move or the move that does the most damage on a neutral target. (this is not useful info, can just briefly comment abt how "using a choice attacker is straightforward but..." or smth) Against Choice Scarf Togekiss, Primarina should use Hydro Cannon for the best chance to win, as Ice Beam fails to OHKO. An example of this can be Chansey + Wacan Berry Primarina, where Chansey defeats Assault vest Zeraora, and Primarina defeats the other Zeraora sets for the team (this example is poor. chansey beats band (the other common set) too and taunt+life orb zera can potentially beat both.). Substitute allows Primarina to cut its HP down to reliably activate its ability Torrent, boosting its Hydro Cannon to allow it to KO Pokemon like Zeraora and Zapdos. Icy Wind allows Wacan Berry Primarina to defeat Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Magnezone by outspeeding them. Calm Mind can be helpful to win stat boost wars, helping Primarina have an easier time against Pokemon like Volcarona. [sentence on encore] I think we can probably ignore what the comp says and call substitute a mandatory move on wacan lol. Should also stress that encore is the preferred flex slot of the 3.

EVs
=============
The HP and Defense EVs allow Primarina to survive Poison Jab from Jolly Choice Band Haxorus, and the HP, Special Defense and Speed EVs allow Primarina to survive any move from Regieleki. The remaining EVs are put in Special Attack. An alternate EV spread of 200 HP / 200 Def / 92 SpA / 16 Spe with a Modest nature can also be used. The drawback of using the main EV spread is the additional layer of prediction against opposing Zeraora. Since the alternate EV spread will survive Plasma Fists from Jolly Choice Band Zeraora with enough HP afterwards to allow it to use Substitute, Wacan Berry Primarina, when run with its alternate EV spread, should use Substitute Turn 1 on Life Orb Zeraora's potential Knock Off, removing Primarina's Wacan Berry, crucial to the matchup. Primarina, when using the main spread, must use Hydro Cannon Turn 1 against Plasma Fists Turn 1 from both Choice Band and Life Orb Zeraora. Choice Specs Primarina crucially allows it Primarina to pick up the OHKO versus bulky Garchomp that can threaten other Primarina sets, as well as non-Assault Vest Metagross and stall Kyurem (Not a fan of these. Primarina vs metagross is a lot more complicated than specs vs nonspecs, and stall kyurem is another very weird matchup. Perhaps use Azumarill and non-AV Tyranitar as examples instead?), which pose to threaten Primarina's other sets. Primarina leverages its typing to defeat powerful Ground, Dragon, and Fire types like Landorus-T, Regidrago, Volcarona, as well as both Urshifu formes. Hydro Cannon and Moonblast are strong STAB moves essential to beat most of the aforementioned threats. Ice Beam defeats Assault Vest Landorus-T, as Landorus-T that set can use Knock Off against Primarina to survive Hydro Cannon, then KO it with Earthquake. Ice Beam also OHKOs physically defensive Whimsicott. Sparkling Aria defeats Pressure Stall Entei and Substitute Volcarona, and Energy Ball allows Primarina to beat Assault Vest Azumarill, as well as niche Water / Ground types like Swampert and Gastrodon. This move also helps in defeating the ever so prominent Water / Fairy types such as Tapu Fini, Azumarill, and opposing Primarina (I don't like how we are mentioning Azumarill a second time here, esp when we already beat most sets w/o eball), although this is set-dependent and should not be relied upon as a counter for these Pokemon.

EVs
=============
208 HP and 184 Defense EVs allow Primarina to survive an Earthquake from Adamant Choice Band Landorus-T, and a Hyper Beam from Timid Choice Scarf Porygon-Z. 16 Speed EVs allow Primarina to outspeed and 2HKO Adamant Steelix. The remaining EVs are put in Special Attack to allow Primarina to deal the most damage, which matters against bulky Pokemon like defensive Aromatisse. (Always good to list the reason for EV dumps)

Usage Tips
=============
Choice Specs Primarina is often straightforward to pilot (Explain what 'straightforward' means, a quick note to click Hydro Cannon or the s/e move is good), however against Choice Scarf Togekiss, Primarina should use Hydro Cannon for the best chance to win, as Ice Beam fails to OHKO . Be wary of Substitute + Disable Dragapult, as Choice Specs locks Primarina into Moonblast, forcing it to use Struggle. (Not a fan - if there's nothing you can do against it there's no point in noting that matchup under usage tips imo) Against some Custap Berry Pokemon like Custap Berry Porygon-Z, Choice Specs Primarina can opt to use Moonblast or Sparkling Aria instead of Hydro Cannon to avoid the drawback of the recharge turn of Hydro Cannon as the opposing Pokemon uses Endure. (Don't like how Moonblast isn't even a guaranteed win vs custap pz, find a better example of playing around custap or cut this) Against stall Azumarill, Choice Specs Primarina should use Moonblast to have a favorible chance to win the matchup, as stall Azumarill is immune to Energy Ball due to Sap Sipper. (Might this be worth rephrasing? The way I see it, you want to click Moonblast vs anything other than AV, and you might not even have Eball, so maybe do 'Click Moonblast vs azumarill, if you have Energy Ball you should click it vs Assault Vest sets but note that Sap Sipper sets beat it) Against Opposing Primarina, Choice Specs Primarina should use Moonblast to fish for Special Attack Drops against opposing Choice Specs Primarina, as the extra damage from Energy Ball does not matter in the mirror matchup.

(Big questions about these slashes, any chance we could do Substitute/Encore and then CM/Icy Wind/Encore?)

[SET COMMENTS]

Set Description
=============
The key selling point of Wacan Berry Primarina is its ability to flip its matchup against Electric-types like non-Assault Vest Zeraora, Magnezone (With the slashes as they are, you may not beat any Magnezone sets right now), and Regieleki. Beating Zeraora specifically allows many teams to guess Zeraora's set on team preview (I genuinely do not understand what is being said here, it sounds like you are able to setguess zera because you beat zera with this set? Which is incoherent.), splitting the counters to Zeraora's different sets between multiple Pokemon. (Why is Icy Wind here? Why is Calm Mind here? Why are the slashes the way they are? Also, try to at least mention Moonblast somewhere, even if wacan doesn't do anything unique with it. Also, on second thought, do we want to make Encore/Substitute a guaranteed slash so you always have Some way to beat LO zera with prediction?)

EVs
=============
The HP and Defense EVs allow Primarina to survive Poison Jab from Jolly Choice Band Haxorus, and the HP, Special Defense and Speed EVs allow Primarina to survive any move from Regieleki. The remaining EVs are put in Special Attack for the best chance to OHKO frail Garchomp. An alternate EV spread of 200 HP / 200 Def / 92 SpA / 16 Spe with a Modest nature can also be used, with moves Moonblast, Hydro Cannon, Substitute, and Encore. The combination of the HP and Defense EVs on the alternate EV spread allow Primarina to survive Plasma Fists from Jolly Choice Band Zeraora with more than 25% of its HP remaining, leaving it at 26% to allow allowing it to use Substitute, then OHKO on Turn 2 with a Torrent boosted Hydro Cannon. This cuts down on the prediction required to win this matchup. (I don't like this because it's assuming a slash move as the default, at least make explicit that it's assuming you run Icy Wind.) In addition, this spread can no longer survive Regieleki's Electro Ball or Thunder.

Usage Tips
=============

(So all the information here is correct but the presentation is needlessly complicated, and at times redundant. This is my attempt at editing it down some.)

Versus Zeraora, Primarina should generally use Hydro Cannon turn one. However, this fails to reliably beat a Life Orb Zeraora that uses Knock Off followed by Plasma Fists. To win in such situations, Primarina should instead use Substitute or Encore on the first turn of battle. If using Encore, it can then beat Zeraora by using Moonblast followed by Hydro Cannon. If using Substitute, it wins by repeatedly using Substitute until its HP drops beneath 33%, at which point a Torrent-boosted Hydro Cannon KOs. When running the alternate EV spread, Primarina can always use Substitute on the first turn of battle to safely get into Torrent range. The exception is a Zeraora using Taunt, which is beaten by using Moonblast followed by Hydro Cannon.

(This is not an usage tip, just a losing matchup. You could put advice here about the 50-50 created when you use Encore but frankly Garchomp retains a 100% reliable path to victory by using EQ twice so I wouldn't bother listing this)

When using the main EV spread (Don't see how the alternate spread would change this?)
Against Magnezone, Primarina should use Icy Wind Turn 1, then, based on the revealed damage Magnezone does to Primarina belonging from Choice Specs Magnezone or Custap Berry Magnezone, use Icy Wind or Hydro Cannon predicting an Endure or an attacking move from Custap Berry Magnezone respectively. Otherwise, against Choice Specs Magnezone, use Hydro Cannon turn 2. Primarina should use Magnezone's damage output to identify its item. Against a Choice Specs set, it should use Hydro Cannon. Otherwise, it faces a difficult choice between using Icy Wind again on a predicted Endure and using Hydro Cannon on a predicted attack.

Against Life Orb Zapdos, Wacan Berry Primarina should use Substitute Turn 1, then OHKO Zapdos with a Torrent boosted Hydro Cannon.

(Explain usage of Encore to beat Trick Pokemon like scarf cress?)

Set Description
=============
Primarina may also use Pixie Plate to secure the OHKO against bulky Garchomp while lacking removing Specs Primarina's weakness to Substitute + Disable Dragapult as well as Disable Spectrier. (I don't like the 'removing' term here as it suggests a sort of 'update' to specs prim, set analyses should stand on their own) This set allows Primarina to have the best odds against opposing Primarina, although trading its bulk for a high Special Attack stat to be able to do this. Because of this, Pixie Plate Primarina now struggles to deal with Pokemon it previously threatened like Choice Band variants of Urshifu and Landorus-Therian. (The entire Spectrier matchup goes unmentioned, which is a significant part of what this set does. Your moves still need explanations. I really don't like how this entire section is written in contrast to Choice Specs - a quick comparison is fine, but the guiding principle here seems to be 'just like specs, except')

EVs
=============
Primarina's HP EVs allow it to survive a Sheer Force B-boosted Sludge Wave from Life Orb Landorus. The Speed EVs allow Primarina to outspeed Adamant Rhyperior, and the Special Attack EVs allow for the best odds against opposing Primarina. This They also allows Primarina to 2HKO non-specially defensive Aromatisse. The remaining EVs are put in Defense for the best odds against Choice Band Steelix and Life Orb Landorus-T.

Usage Tips
=============
Pixie Plate Primarina should use Icy Wind Turn 1 against Landorus-T, as a non-Torrent boosted Hydro Cannon can fail to OHKO. Pixie Plate Primarina should use Encore Turn 1 against Entei, disallowing it to setup preventing pressure stall Entei it from using its pressure stall Entei's Substitute + Protect + Toxic Strategy (Elaborate on this the way you did in previous usage tips). Primarina should use Moonblast Turn 1 against Dragapult. If Dragapult uses Substitute Turn 1, Primarina should then use Encore Turn 2, as a Disable from Dragapult is likely to follow. (Mention how Icy Wind + Encore beats Spectrier, in general mention the Icy Wind Encore lock vs faster stall.)
