Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
And there you have it, the votes are now CLOSED! We got a lot more voters this time, so let's see who the true identity of each of those designs are, the ones who will be joining Wreckerowth, Dastapose, and Ryuumi in the endless metagame gallery...
First up, courtesy of PalpitoadChamp, Design A will know be known as the Space Of Hearts. This Fire/Water-type offensive pivot has an Ace in the Hole that stacks many effects into one, as well as the Pyromaniac ability, which turns it's Fire-type moves to Dark-type moves, and Dark-type moves to Fire-type moves! Oh, and did I mention it has access to Volcanion's Steam Eruption?
Next, with a close 7 to 6 vote, anaconja's Relicoil takes Design B home, who was notably the only design to actually notice the Relic Crown I put on that sprite! Relicoil is a Choice Scarf user who can use it's unique ability, Relic Power, to make it's moves always use it's better attacking stat, meaning it doesn't have to worry about stat drops!
Finally, Orangesodapop, I'm proud to announce that Design C will now go under the name of your Sanbandit! Don't let it's small movepool fool you, for this Flying/Ground-type can easily suck out the competition with it's Flying-type Giga Drain clone, Vacuum Bag!
Thank you all for voting! Space Of Hearts, Relicoil, and Sanbandit will be joining the database soon, and the next slate will be out faster than you can even say "Now hold still, my artist buddy!". And believe me...you're going to love this next slate.
SLATE 3: THE OBLIGATORY FAN SERVICE SLATE “One of the key aspects of being memorable is your fan service. Needless to say, the more popular you are, the more widespread your release is, and the more beautiful you look, the more often people will draw fan art of you…even if it turns out to be quite questionable indeed. Such is the reveal of Bounsweet’s evolution, Steenee. Even though it wasn’t it’s final evolution, which that title belonged to Tsareena, and was in fact revealed alongside it, people LOVED the design, and Steenee got fan art mere days after it was revealed, and remains an adorable Grass-type even to this day. The fact she got revealed worldwide was a key gift to Steenee’s success…but sometimes, this can be the other way around. Take Gossifleur’s reveal: It was revealed alongside it’s less beautiful evolution, Eldegoss…and didn’t get a third stage to fix the problems it gained when it evolved. Not to mention, it’s movepool sucks. But, regardless…they still have their fans.”
So, to honour this factor, and maybe perhaps to give Steenee the competition she sorely needs, this slate's three designs are deliberately beautiful on purpose. These three princesses are just itching to join the metagame, but how will you be able to shape their lore and roles? Remember, take the previous six winners into account when designing them! Sun Worship: This Pokemon's moves act as if they're effected by Sunny Day (Weather Ball becomes 100 BP and Fire type, Solar Beam + Blade are performed instantly, Synthesis, Morning Sun, and Moonlight will now instead recover ⅔ of the user's HP, Growth buffs Attack and Special attack by 2, lowered accuracy on Hurricane and Thunder.)
Flavor: Born by the heat of a hyper-powered sun on a rapidly re-freezing iceberg, Bifrostar roams the cold wastelands of its birthing place, with a large ball of spiky Frost attached to its shoulder, it cleaves through those who stand in its way. During times of peace, Bifrostar stares into the sky, waiting for the sun to come back. Role: Inherently wacky offensive Ice with... a sun-flavored kit?
Name: Chlorophage
Type: Grass/Bug
Abilities: Energy Drain
Energy Drain: K.O.ing an opponent heals 50% max hp.
Stats: 40/55/60/145/120/100
Weight: 0.1 kg
Movepool:
Chloroblast, Solar Beam, Giga Drain, Magical Leaf, Mega Drain, Absorb, Signal Beam, Silver Wind, Psychic Noise, Draining Kiss, Tri Attack, Weather Ball, Petal Blizzard, Razor Leaf, Leafage, Leech Life, U-Turn, Pounce, Play Rough, Facade, Feint, Flail, Stun Spore, Cotton Spore, Synthesis, Confuse Ray, Eerie Impulse, Growth, Substitute, Rest, Sleep Talk, Protect
Flavor: I wasn't really sure what to make of this design but it sort of looks like a little alien bug creature on a sunflower, so I went with the idea of a reverse Paras, where the insect is the one parasitizing the plant. Chlorophages are found on Sunflowers and will slowly drain the plant's ability to photosynthesize in order to use it to use solar energy defend themselves. Chloroblast is explicitly a move that shoots out Chlorophyll, which is what Chlorophage eats, so the design is based on Chloroblast.
Role: Chloroblast One Trick Nuclear Bomb that is self sustained so long as you keep getting kills.
Abilities: Stench / Aftermath / Ambusher
Ambusher - Boosts the power of moves used by this Pokemon on its first full turn by 1.5x. Stats: 100/95/75/70/85/62 (487) Weight: 130kg Movepool: Body Slam, Earthquake, Fire Punch, Gunk Shot, Ice Punch, Knock Off, Parting Shot, Play Rough, Wood Hammer, Swords Dance, Stealth Rock, Sucker Punch, Thunder Punch, Toxic
Flavor: Long thought to be a cryptid, this Pokemon wards off intruders into its territory with its potent stench. Role: Utility mon that also functions as a breaker or Scarfed revenge killer with its signature ability giving it very solid damage output on its first turn.
Name: Alraterasu Type:
Abilities: Solar Power / Drought Stats: 75/65/80/115/95/77 (507) Weight: 16.5kg Movepool: Calm Mind, Dazzling Gleam, Energy Ball, Leaf Storm, Morning Sun, Psychic, Psyshock, Sleep Powder, Sludge Bomb, Solar Beam, Taunt
Flavor: It is most active during the summer months. In the cold depths of winter it hides away in caves to hibernate. Ancient people saw it as a deity of the sun whose hibernation was itself the bringer of winter. Role: [Special Wallbreaker, Sun Setter] Intended to be a potent specially offensive breaker that additionally enables future Sun playstyles. Intentionally restricted in its own breaking capabilities by being given nothing to hit Steels in specific when those get into the meta, as well as a middling Speed stat.
Abilities: Stench / Regenerator Stats: 110 HP / 65 Atk / 90 Def / 80 SpA / 100 SpD / 70 Spe (515) Weight: 100 kg Movepool: Clear Smog, Dark Pulse, Earth Power, Sludge Bomb, Stealth Rock, Toxic, Toxic Spikes, Wish Flavor: Queen of the bogs and swamps, Maliffiscent emits a powerful stench that drives away intruders. She longs for someone who can appreciate her unique beauty. Role: hazard setter, poison spreader, regenerator defensive pivot
Name: Chelsa Type:
Abilities: Slush Rush / Skill Link Stats: 75 HP / 100 Atk / 70 Def / 100 SpA / 70 SpD / 110 Spe (525) Weight: 50 kg Movepool: Aura Sphere, Blizzard, Close Combat, Drain Punch, Focus Blast, Freeze-Dry, High Jump Kick, Ice Beam, Ice Shard, Icicle Crash, Icicle Spear, Rock Blast, Triple Axel Flavor: Chelsa let go of the pressure of being a damsel in distress. Role: revenge killer, physical/special/mixed wallbreaker
Name: Tenderbella Type:
Abilities: Natural Cure / Competitive Stats: 75 HP / 60 Atk / 70 Def / 100 SpA / 120 SpD / 100 Spe (525) Weight: 1kg Movepool: Bug Buzz, Energy Ball, Moonblast, Moonlight, Quiver Dance, Shadow Ball, Thunder Wave, U-turn Flavor: Tenderbella tend to flowers which they transform into homes. They are always competing with one another over who has the biggest and prettiest flower. Role: Quiver Dance setup sweeper
: Double Edge, Frustration, Monkey Do*, Close Combat, Ice Punch
*Monkey Do | Normal | Physical | 90 BP | 100% Acc | 10 PP | Contact | Swaps the user's ability with the target's.
Aerial Ace, After You, Amnesia, Attract, Body Slam, Brick Break, Bulk Up, Bulldoze, Captivate, Chilling Water, Chip Away, Close Combat, Confide, Counter, Covet, Crush Claw, Curse, Cut, Dig, Double Team, Double-Edge, Drain Punch, Dynamic Punch, Encore, Endeavor, Endure, Facade, False Swipe, Feint Attack, Fire Punch, Flail, Fling, Focus Blast, Focus Energy, Focus Punch, Frustration, Fury Cutter, Fury Swipes, Hammer Arm, Headbutt, Helping Hand, Hidden Power, Hone Claws, Hyper Voice, Ice Punch, Lash Out, Low Kick, Low Sweep, Mega Kick, Mega Punch, Metal Claw, Metronome, Mimic, Mud Shot, Mud-Slap, Natural Gift, Night Slash, Outrage, Play Rough, Power-Up Punch, Protect, Pursuit, Rain Dance, Rest, Retaliate, Return, Reversal, Roar, Rock Climb, Rock Slide, Rock Smash, Rock Tomb, Round, Scary Face, Scratch, Secret Power, Seed Bomb, Seismic Toss, Shadow Ball, Slack Off, Slash, Sleep Talk, Snore, Solar Beam, Stomping Tantrum, Strength, Substitute, Sucker Punch, Swagger, Take Down, Taunt, Tera Blast, Thief, Throat Chop, Thunder Punch, Tickle, Toxic, Trailblaze, Uproar, Water Pulse, Work Up, X-Scissor, Yawn, Zen Headbutt
Flavor: monkey see Role: has high power with gorilla tactics but is balanced with its fairly shallow coverage pool. custom can lock opponents who swap in which is pretty funny
Flavor: that edgy oc you made when you were 13 Role: ice/steel coverage is actually quite good bc you double up on resists you were never going to hit well anyway while expanding your coverage to hit fairies/rocks. v effective on an ice/dark but the mon itself is somewhat hampered by its low initial power and tendency to get revenge killed
I hope you've enjoyed spending some time with the adorable designs of this third slate, (Who happen to be actual muses for once!) but all good things must run like a girl falling into obscurity...The third slate's submissions will be closing this Sunday at around 10:00 to 12:00, and then it'll be time for the vote! Good luck!
SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED!!! Now that the muses have enjoyed having their image described by you...it's time to see who they really are! There may not be as many submissions as the previous two slates, but it's up to you to decide the true identities of the three fan service maidens! DESIGN A:
DenebStargazer's Skunksquatch
Emergence's Maliffiscent
anaconja's Chimpatsy
PalpitoadChamp's Conventionally Attractive Kong
DESIGN B: (No matter which one wins, an Ice-type's getting in)
Akira's Chlorophage
DenebStargazer's Alraterasu Emergence's Tenderbella
Remember, for this vote, the topmost submission of each design in your vote will count as two votes, and you cannot put your own submission as the top vote. For example, if you were to copy the above text exactly, then Skunksquatch, Bifrostar, and Chlorophage would get two votes instead of one. The submissions with the most votes in each design will enter the metagame.
Voting will last until tomorrow, hopefully...(With the votes planning to close around 11:00 GMT) GOOD LUCK!
OK WHAT WAS THE FIRST THING MEANT TO BE DESIGN-WISE? (design 1) Emergence's Maliffiscent
PalpitoadChamp's Conventionally Attractive Kong
DenebStargazer's Skunksquatch
THE COLD ACTUALLY REALLY DOES BOTHER ME (design 2) anaconja's Glacerate
Cyaneedle's Bifrostar (SV)
SAVE YOUR FLOWERS (design 3) DenebStargazer's Alraterasu Emergence's Tenderbella
And thus, I hereby declare the votes CLOSED! But...only two votes again?! What sorcery is this?! But, anyway, it's time to see who these beautiful maidens are, their appearances now set in stone....
But we still don't know who Design A is! We have a three way tie between Emergence's Maliffiscent, PalpitoadChamp's Conventionally Attractive Kong, and anaconja's Chimpatsy, so you will have to vote in the true winner in the next slate!
But, for the other two, we do have a winner! With three votes, Design B will now be known as Glacerate, who was submitted by anaconja! (His third winning entry in this Pet Mod, by the way, he must be good at this) This Ice/Dark edgy OC shines with her signature move Frost Edge, which combines Ice and Steel into a single attack!
And, on the other end of the spectrum, DenebStargazer takes Design C home! It will now go under the name of Alraterasu, a specially offensive wallbreaker. Notably, it has Drought, so we might be seeing some sunny submissions soon....
Thank you for voting! Glacerate and Alraterasu will be added to the database soon...but you know what'll come sooner? The next slate, that's what....
SLATE 4: THE SMALL SHALL RULE...RIGHT? “Do you remember Komala? No? Well, let me tell you it’s sad story…Komala was revealed within the CoroCoro Magazine at the same time as Rockruff, a Pokémon that was similar in size and power at the time...well, that’s what we thought. Later on in Sun and Moon’s reveal period, Rockruff got an evolution in the form of Lycanroc, which was downright awesome with it’s two forms, and we thought that with it’s small size, Komala would be getting an evolution that was hiding in the depths of the unrevealed Pokémon. Turns out, it did not. Stuck in it’s small form as a fully evolved Pokémon, Komala spent it’s time in it’s debut generation in PU, and it was quickly forgotten. The only reason it’s probably in Paldea is to remind people that it exists…so, shed a tear for poor Komala, the Pokémon who taught us an important lesson…to never think that everything can evolve.”
So, to remember THAT, in this slate, we pay our respects for what Komala should have been...by making all three designs just as small as it! But is size the biggest detriment to a design? That's up to you to decide.... DESIGN A:

DESIGN C:
You have until Sunday the 17th of August to cast your submissions...GOOD LUCK!
Plus, don't forget, once this slate is done, we'll have enough Pokémon to hopefully start programming this metagame into DragonHaven! TIEBREAKER! (NOT PART OF THIS SLATE)
It appears the fan service isn't over yet...Design A from Slate 3 is facing a three-way tie between Emergence's Maliffiscent, PalpitoadChamp's Conventionally Attractive Kong, and anaconja's Chimpatsy. Choose one of them by Wednesday to decide who this strange muse is! Huh...somehow, I kinda feel deja vu from this...

Beesless Edge: 65 BP, Bug type, Physical, 24 (max) PP, 90% Accuracy, Sets a layer of Spikes on the opposing side. Slicing and Contact move.)
Flavor: i just thought the name was funny. Role: Hazard Setter similar to Samurott-Hisui but with a.. less-beneficial typing for damage. Also can be used as a breaker with strong Technician (with loaded dice) or Sharpness moves.
Name: Maustoy
Type: Dragon / Fairy Abilities: Huge Power / Dragon's Maw (Pixilate) Stats: 90/55/75/95/75/80 (470 BST) Weight: 11.5 KG Movepool: Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, Take Down, Facade, Substitute, Tera Blast, Protect, Endure, Sleep Talk, Rest, Breaking Swipe, Draco Meteor, Dragon Breath, Dragon Cheer, Dragon Claw, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Rage, Dragon Rush, Dragon Tail, Scale Shot, Twister, Alluring Voice, Baby-Doll Eyes, Charm, Dazzling Gleam, Disarming Voice, Draining Kiss, Moonblast, Moonlight, Play Rough, Spirit Break, Fire Fang, Ice Fang, Thunder Fang, Poison Fang, Bite, Crunch, Super Fang, Psychic Fangs, Zen Headbutt, Superpower, Return, Frustration, Double-Edge, Body Slam, Slam, Headbutt, Weather Ball, Hyper Voice, Earth Power, Earthquake, Thunderbolt, Bounce, Roar, Jaw Lock, Knock Off. (could add more moves at a point in time idk man) Custom Elements: none Flavor: i just uh..... erm................ Role: Incredibly silly Special or Physical Breaker that has like 3 REALLY good abilities. tis all. Actual power is inherently really weird because its Physical sets are screwed by the Fairy types but the Special sets are awkward!
Name: Gibblit
Type: Poison
Abilities: Cute Charm // Magic Bounce
Stats: 99 / 88 / 77 / 66 / 77 / 55
Movepool: Facade, Protect, Substitute, Rest, Sleep Talk, Snore, Tera Blast, Gunk Shot, Poison Jab, Moonlight, Toxic Spikes, Acid Armor, Body Press, Poison Sting, Shadow Ball, Hex, Venoshock, Baby-Doll Eyes, Charm, Parting Shot, Sludge, Sludge Bomb, Toxic, Thunder Wave, Encore, Topsy-Turvy, Whirlwind, Baton Pass, Gastro Acid, Hyper Voice, Body Slam, Bounce, Bouncy Bubble, Quick Attack, Play Rough, Dazzling Gleam, Misty Terrain, Misty Explosion, Knock Off, Brutal Swing, Dark Pulse, Shadow Punch, Drain Punch, Nasty Plot
Flavor: Kinda like Banette
Competitive: Acceptable bulk with MBounce, recovery, hazards, and pivoting. However, 99/77/77 bulk isn't that impressive, Moonlight isn't optimal recovery, and it's only hazard is Toxic Spikes. It also is rather slow and not super strong. However, it has plenty of utility options that help make it relevant.
Name: Beece (Bee + Ice)
Type: Bug/Ice
Abilities: Ice Body / Shield Dust // Poison Point
Stats: 40/90/50/90/60/130
Movepool: Facade, Protect, Substitute, Rest, Sleep Talk, Snore, Tera Blast, Swords Dance, Nasty Plot, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Bug Buzz, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Snowscape, Lunge, Leech Life, Icicle Spear, Ice Spinner, Icicle Crash, Waterfall, Rock Slide, Poison Sting, Poison Jab, Toxic, Baton Pass, Fly, Haze, String Shot, Harden, Tackle, Bug Bite
Flavor: That right there is a regional bug based on an ice cream cone.
Competitive: Very fast with solid offenses, but it's boots locked and dies to a wet breeze. None of its abilities are super useful, but it packs setup and useful coverage on both sides. Special is probably better due to Ice/Electric coverage, but Physical gets coverage to hit Fire-types harder. If you let it set up, you're in for some trouble.
Name: Geklow (Gecko + Glow)
Type: Fire/Ghost
Abilities: Flame Body / Cursed Body // Hexed Body (Hexed Body: This Pokemon's attacks do 1.5x damage to Poisoned Pokemon.)
Stats: 120/70/60/110/70/75
Movepool: Facade, Protect, Substitute, Rest, Sleep Talk, Snore, Tera Blast, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Toxic, Hex, Shadow Ball, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Lava Plume, Explosion, Will-O-Wisp, U-Turn, Shadow Punch, Poltergeist, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Flare Blitz, Flame Charge, Ember, Fire Spin, Spite, Lunge, Poison Jab, Gunk Shot
Flavor: Ghost of a pyromaniac lizard who's returned to burn down the meta game.
Competitive: Very potent offensive Mon with acceptable bulk, but it's easily outsped, boots locked, lacks recovery, and needs status spread to truly shine. Also, Steels and Poisons would be natural counters due to it liking poison, but it has Fire moves to thoroughly nuke them (Poisons are still solid options though).
It is Wednesday, my friend. And therefore, the end of the tiebreaker! But once again, we only got one vote...but regardless, with that one vote, the winner for Slate 3's Design A is...wait, this must be some kind of mistake. But the numbers don't lie! Believe it or not, the winner....is PalpitoadChamp's Conventionally Attractive Kong! But as odd as it may seem, especially with that name, this monkey is certainly no joke at all: Not after it uses a Technician boosted Fake Out on you, followed by Belly Drum and Quick Attack! He also happens to have the highest Defence of anyone in this metagame so far. You'll find it in the database soon, so remember to take it into account when designing your entries for this slate, which, as a reminder, will close this Sunday!
Where have all the submissions gone?! Are they still under preperation? Regardless, I am here to tell you that submissions will be closing this Sunday at around 9:00 to 12:00, so get your tiny toddlers into shape before then, and prove that they are the Davids to the Goliaths of the metagame! But...the voting this time will be a little different, we'll let you know on that day!
Flavour: They gather in swarms to sting into the bodies of Electric-type Pokemon to drain their electrical charge. Role: Very, very fast offensive pivot that can also set Sticky Web.
