Pet Mod [Gen 3] Hoenn Echoes | Slate 2 Submissions are now Open!

:ss/zapdos galar:
Name: Zapdos Galar
Type: Fighting/Flying
Stats: 80/120/90/85/90/100 (normal Gapdos spread but with 10 less HP and 5 less attack)
Abilities: Pressure
Full Movepool: Drill Peck, Cross Chop, Baton Pass, Drill Peck, Taunt, Agility, Rest, Sleep Talk, Protect, Double-Edge, Bulk Up, Agility, Ancient Power, Blaze Kick, Taunt, Aerial Ace, Fly, Hyper Beam, Mega Kick, Rain Dance, Peck, Rock Smash, Sandstorm, Screech, Sunny Day, Take Down, Substitute, Hidden Power, Toxic, Protect, Return, Frustration, Thunderous Kick
Thunderous Kick | Fighting | 75 BP | 100% Accuracy | 10 pp | Always results in a Defense Drop
Role: Zapdos Galar acts as a Fighting type wallbreaker, able to generate switches via its signature move Thunderous Kick. It can threaten out Snorlax quite easily, while also threatening to break through the Spikes users with the Defense drops. Its also a solid Groudon check, able to take any attack from it, and then respond back with offensive pressure.
Checks/Counters: Psychic types such as Latios, Latias, Mewtwo and Lugia are able to easily take its Fighting STAB and even potentially take its Flying Moves. If the opponent has a Ghost type, then Gapdos is not ableto do much, as Drill Peck has mediocre bp and it has to rely on Hidden Power Ghost.

:bw/jellicent:
Name: Jellicent
Type: Water/Ghost
Stats: 100/70/80/70/95/60 (10 more attack, 10 more defense, 15 less special attack, 10 less special defense)
Abilities: Water Absorb / Rain Dish
Full Movepool: Recover, Water Spout, Hidden Power, Shadow Ball, Toxic, Giga Drain, Ice Beam, Surf, Night Shade, Protect, Psychic, Rest, Sleep Talk, Sludge Bomb, Taunt, Absorb, Bind, Bubble, Bubble Beam, Confuse Ray, Dive, Flash, Hyper Beam, Rain Dance, Poison Sting, Safeguard, Secret Power, Shock Wave, Snore, Spite, Water Gun, Water Pulse, Water Sport, Whirlpool, Amnesia, Return, Frustration
Role: Jellicent acts as a Kyogre counter that can take on most non CB or Thunder sets. From this, its able to either do good damage to the Psychics with STAB Shadow Ball, or Recover off the damage to be an incredibly annoying defensive Pokemon. Its also able to check most Snorlax variants, with only CB Lax threatening it. Its also a great spinblocker as it can take attacks from Forretress easily.
Checks/Counters: Jellicent mainly struggles with its low power, as it typically has to invest in its defensive stats and thus has to make sure its attacks are hitting super effectively. Due to no Refresh, Jellicent is incredibly crippled by Toxic. CM Thunder variants of Kyogre can absolutely dominate Jellicent, as if it isn't running Night Shade, Substitute cannot be broken by its flimsy Shadow Ball and +1 Thunder has good odds to OHKO it after a single Spikes layer. While Groudon doesn't like taking Toxic, it can threaten it out with massive Earthquakes.

:sv/cyclizar:
Name: Cyclizar
Type: Normal/Dragon
Stats: 70/85/65/95/65/120 (10 less attack, 10 more special attack and 1 less speed because I like even numbers)
Abilities: Shed Skin
Full Movepool: Self Destruct, Rapid Spin, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Overheat, Dragon Claw, Hidden Power, Quick Attack, Toxic, Crunch, Pursuit, Double-Edge, Body Slam, Protect, Baton Pass, Rest, Sleep Talk, Snore, Substitute, Taunt, Aerial Ace, Bite, Hyper Beam, Iron Tail, Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Tackle, Take Down, Thief, Return, Frustration
Role: Cyclizar acts as a an offensive utility Pokemon, able to leverage its blistering fast speed to launch fast attacks and provide utility to its team with Rapid Spin. Self Destruct allows Cyclizar to heavily chip Pokemon such as Groudon, Latios and Kyogre, though ofc not OHKO'ing most of them from full so it isn't too broken. It also is able to threaten out the two main Spikes users in Skarmory and Forretress with Overheat.
Checks/Counters: Cyclizar is quite frail, meaning even resisted attacks such as Surf from Kyogre to massive damage to it. While it is quite fast, Cyclizar is still outsped by Deo-A, and while Quick Attack can 2HKO it, Superpower is a clean OHKO in return. Groudon can take any non-Self Destruct attack from it easily.

:bw/(hydreigon):
Name: hydreigon
Type: dark/dragon
Stats:92/95(-10)/80(-10)/125/90/98
Abilities: levitate/hustle
Full Movepool: body slam, crunch, dragon dance, dragon claw, earthquake, fire blast, fire fang, flamethrower, frustration, heat wave, hydro pump, ice fang, iron tail, nasty plot, outrage, protect, reflect, rest, return, roar, rock slide, moonlight (to replace roost), signal beam, sleep talk, steel wing, substitute, brick break, surf, taunt, thunder wave, toxic, astonish, attract, beat up, bite, confide, double team, dragon breath, endure, fire spin, fly, focus energy, hyper beam, headbutt, helping hand, psych up, rain dance, rock smash, rock tomb, scary face, screech, secret power, snarl, spite, sunny day, strength, swagger, tackle, thief, torment, thunder fang, refresh, ice punch, thunder punch
Role: fast special attacker that can out run modest lati@s if it uses +speed. Taunt and toxic let it act like gengar does in ou with blissey. Nasty plot would be its signature move that would let it threaten a lot of kos once a team is chipped. Would be a nice wall breaker vs stall
Checks/Counters: it has to give up on modest if it wants to outspeed lati and lati can just run +speed and ohko it. It only has thunder fang to hit Kyogre super effectively. Deoxys and Mewtwo out run and threaten it super effectively.
:bw/(archeops):
Name: Archeops
Type:flying/rock
Stats:75/140/65/125(+13)/65/110
Abilities: defeatist (changes to when it has 25% of its hp left)
Full movepool: agility, ancient power, crunch, dragon claw, earthquake, endeavor, facade, frustration, heat wave, iron tail, knock off, outrage, protect, quick attack, rest, return, roar, rock blast, rock slide, sleep talk, steel wing, substitute, taunt, toxic, aerial ace, attract, bite, cut, dig, double team, fly, hyper beam, leer, rock smash, rock tomb, torment, swagger, sky attack, sandstorm, wing attack, ice fang, thunder fang, fire fang, refresh, ice punch
Role: it’s a very strong glass canon type Pokemon like a stronger but slower aero.
Checks and counters: groudon sits on this guy forever, its poor defensive stats mean that any strong attack can ko it or put it into defeatist range.
:sv/(beartic):
Name: beartic
Type: fighting/ice
Stats: 135(+40)/130/80/95(+35)/80/50
Abilities: slush rush, swift swim
Full movepool: blizzard, body slam, brick break, bulk up, crunch, curse, cross chop(replaces superpower), double edge, earthquake, encore, endeavor, facade, focus punch, frustration, ice beam, ice fang, ice punch, surf, low kick, protect, rest, return, roar, rock slide, sleep talk, substitute, swords dance, taunt, toxic, yawn, aerial ace, attract, bide, covet, cut, dig, dive, endure, flail, hyper beam, growl, hail, icy wind, mega kick, mega punch, metal claw, mud shot, mud slap, swagger, thief
Role: can be used as a fast swift swimmer on rain and can also go mixed to hit groudon and other ice weak pokemon.
Checks and counters: metagross gives this guy a really hard time as does forretress, ho-oh, Lugia and Kyogre. It also has 4mss can’t run swords dance, eq, rock slide, ice beam, cross chop, hp ghost on the same set.

:sv/(baxcalibur):
Name: baxcalibur
Type: ice/dragon
Stats: 100(-15)/135(-10)/82(-10)/96(+31)/86/71(-16)
Abilities: thermal exchange(fire and ice moves do 0.5x damage in addition to its usual effects), ice body
Full movepool:Aerial Ace, Bite, Blizzard, Body Slam, Brick Break, Crunch, Dig, Double-Edge, Dragon Breath, Dragon Claw, Dragon Dance, Earthquake, Endure, Facade, False Swipe, Focus Energy, Helping Hand, Hyper Beam, Ice Beam, Icicle Spear, Icy Wind, Leer, Outrage, Protect, Rain Dance, Rest, Scary Face, Sleep Talk, Substitute, Swords Dance, Tackle, Take Down
+focus punch +rock slide +shadow ball
Signature move: glaive rush same effects but reduced to 100bp
Role: it’s a strong bulky Physical booster that is uniquely immune to burn from Ho-oh.
Checks and counters: it struggles to use its stab types with its low special attack and can’t hit Kyogre, skarmory, or forre for very big damage.

:sv/Hoopa-Unbound:
Name: Hoopa Unbound
Type: Psychic/Dark
Stats: 90(+10)/110(-50)/50(-10)/120(-50)/130/80
Ability: Magician
Signature Move: Hyperspace Fury (90bp Dark Move, 100% chance to lower user's defense)
Full Movepool: Brick Break, Cross Chop, Calm Mind, Crunch, Destiny Bond, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Psychic, Light Screen, Reflect, Rest, Sleep Talk, Substitute, Protect, Thunder Wave, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, Sunny Day, Sandstorm, Return, Frustration, Future Sight, Confusion, Astonish, Psybeam, Giga Impact, Swift
Role: Bulky Dark type effective into both lati twins who is also very difficult to switch into with a crunch which can hit a lot of the tier. Would likely run either CM sets or Mixed. Magician can also innately remove leftovers or a Dew from a switch-in but this can be punished by a Banded Snorlax or Metagross willing to take chip and lose the band, which can often be worthwhile for a team with Latias or Kyogre. CM sets are especially effective into the lati twins as it can match their boosting and for similar reasons and access to thunderbolt/ice beam neutrality is effective against lots of kyogre sets. Furthermore, excluding both Blissey and Snorlax there are very few mons willing to come in on +1 or even +2 HF. Mixed sets lose immediate power and a kyogre matchup but some investment and Cross Chop allow you to push past Blissey and a chipped Lax, which could be effective on more specially offensive teams.
Checks/Counters: Lacking many resists, refresh, and recovery can make you far from impenetrable even on your good special side. As opposed to CM mons like mewtwo and the lati twins, lacking refresh and having low speed makes you especially vulnerable to a toxic. Also, your low speed and pitiful physical defense means that several physical revenge killers/attackers can force you out incredibly easily, like all Groudon sets, Heracross, physical Deo-A , and Rayquaza.

:sv/Iron-Hands:
Name: Iron Hands
Type: Electric/Fighting
Stats: 154/130(-10)/68(-40)/50/98(+30)/50
Ability: Thick Fat/Volt Absorb
Full Movepool: Hariyama + Thunderbolt
Role: Mixed(ish) wall with Knock, Bulk-Up, and Phazing, and a dual resistance to Bolt Beam via Thick Fat. Generally, acts a sidegrade to Snorlax. While you lack Immunity, some special bulk, and Explosion most notably, you have more offensive utility via Fighting Stab, Knock, and Rock Slide. In general, your Metagross matchup is relatively good both switching in and Meta switching into you due to resisting meteor mash, however as an exchange Skarmory's toxic can entirely invalidate you. Thick Fat allows you to act as a check to strong special attackers, like Mewtwo, Kyogre, and especially the Lati twins who both loathe losing their Soul Dews and being whirlwinded. Can also act as a strong physical wallbreaker with CB able to use EdgeQuake coverage to threaten a large majority of the tier with proper prediction.
Checks/Counters: Firstly, anything with toxic threatens to entirely cut out your longevity. Status weakness in general prevents you from being a great answer to Ho-Oh. Generally, excluding Metagross, physical threats like Deo-A, Groudon, can threaten you due to low speed, physdef, and a ground weakness, and especially Rayquaza specifically can use Rock Slide-less variants as setup fodder. Gengar can also take all of your attacks without significant bulking up assuming you lack HP Ghost and wisp you, although it dislikes being knocked. Also, you struggle hard against 4MSS, as you want Earthquake, Cross Chop/Brick Break/Focus Punch, Bulk Up, Rock Slide, Whirlwind, Hidden Power for Gengar, and Knock Off.

:xy/volcanion:
Name: Volcanion
Type: Fire/Water
Stats: 80/100(-10)/110(-10)/125(-5)/90/70
Abilities: Water Absorb
Full Movepool: Body Slam, Brick Break, Confide, Cut, Double Team, Earthquake, Endure, Eruption, Explosion, Facade, Fire Blast, Fire Spin, Flamethrower, Fling, Focus Energy, Haze, Heat Wave, Hydro Pump, Hyper Beam, Leer, Mist Mud Shot, Overheat, Protect, Rain Dance, Rest, Roar, Rock Slide, Rock Smash, Round, Sandstorm, Scald*, Scary Face, Self-Destruct, Sleep Talk, Sludge Bomb, Snore, Solar Beam, Steam Eruption*, Stomp, Strength, Substitute, Sunny Day, Superpower, Swagger, Take Down, Toxic, Water Gun, Water Pulse, Weather Ball*
Role: Volcanion utilizes both the physical/special split of ADV and the permanent weather of pre Gen 6 in a totally unique way. Between STABs, Solar Beam, Superpower, and Explosion, it should be able to fit on multiple styles and make strong progress while also offering a pretty unique defensive profile.
Checks/Counters: A strong STAB combination alongside a powerful boom will make Volcanion difficult to answer, but a lack of recovery and middling speed allows the primals and Dragons to check it consistently if not for Explosion. Water-types more generally can answer Volcanion if they are able to hit it in some manner, but must be wary of Solar Beam in Sun and a strong Steam Eruption in rain.

:dp/abomasnow:
Name: Abomasnow
Type: Ice / Grass
Stats: 100 / 85 / 80 / 100 / 110 / 75 (550, all stats increased a bit)
Abilities: Snow Warning
Full Movepool: Attract, Blizzard, Block, Body Slam, Brick Break, Bullet Seed, Curse, Double Team, Double-Edge, Earthquake, Endure, Facade, Flash, Focus Punch, Frustration, Giga Drain, Grass Whistle, Growth, Hail, Headbutt, Helping Hand, Hidden Power, Hyper Beam, Ice Beam, Ice Punch, Icicle Spear, Icy Wind, Ingrain, Iron Tail, Leech Seed, Leer, Light Screen, Low Kick, Magical Leaf, Mega Kick, Mega Punch, Mist, Mud-Slap, Outrage, Powder Snow, Protect, Rain Dance, Razor Leaf, Rest, Return, Rock Slide, Rock Smash, Rock Tomb, Role Play, Safeguard, Scary Face, Secret Power, Shadow Ball, Sheer Cold, Skull Bash, Sleep Talk, Snore, Solar Beam, Stomp, Strength, Substitute, Swagger, Swords Dance, Synthesis, Take Down, Toxic, Water Pulse, Weather Ball, Whirlwind, Recover
Role: Special tank that resets weather and chips down foes. It can switch into Thunder and rain-boosted Water attacks without fearing Ice coverage, letting it fight the Latis and Kyogre. Whirlwind was added so it can stop CM sets and accumulate Spikes damage. Blizzard is fairly strong and coverage moves like Low Kick and Earthquake can punish Ice resists and special walls despite mediocre offensive stats.
Checks/Counters: Plenty of Pokemon can outspeed and deal massive damage to Abomasnow with Fire coverage or super-effective STAB attacks. It also risks being walled by certain foes depending on its moveset, as it's hard to fit the coverage it wants alongside Whirlwind and Recover.

:sv/iron bundle:
Name: Iron Bundle
Type: Ice / Water
Stats: 56 / 85 / 114 / 124 / 60 / 131 (570, +5 atk, -5 spe)
Abilities: Damp
Full Movepool: Agility, Air Cutter, Blizzard, Body Slam, Drill Peck, Encore, Endure, Facade, Helping Hand, Hydro Pump, Hyper Beam, Ice Beam, Ice Punch, Icy Wind, Powder Snow, Present, Protect, Rain Dance, Rest, Sleep Talk, Substitute, Swift, Take Down, Taunt, Thief, Water Pulse, Whirlpool, Toxic, Hidden Power
Role: Yeah, it's another Water/Ice type, but it's fast and does damage now. Encore lets it punish Sub/CM from Latis and Mewtwo if predicted, and it gained Toxic and Hidden Power Electric to have options for wearing down its checks. Damp is useful into offense, especially when paired with Encore.
Checks/Counters: Speed was nerfed so it's always slower than 252 neutral nature Deoxys. Can't boost so it struggles against special walls and bulkier Water types like Blissey and Kyogre. Always dies to special attacks

:bw/maractus:
Name: Maractus
Type: Grass
Stats: 95 / 86 / 87 / 126 / 87 / 70 (551, +20 to hp/def/spa/spd and +10 to spe)
Abilities: Water Absorb, Chlorophyll
Full Movepool: Absorb, Aerial Ace, Attract, Bounce, Bullet Seed, Cotton Spore, Double Team, Endeavor, Endure, Facade, Frustration, Giga Drain, Grass Whistle, Growth, Helping Hand, Hidden Power, Hyper Voice, Ingrain, Knock Off, Leech Seed, Mega Drain, Nature Power, Needle Arm, Peck, Petal Dance, Pin Missile, Protect, Rain Dance, Rest, Return, Safeguard, Screech, Secret Power, Sleep Talk, Snore, Solar Beam, Spikes, Substitute, Sunny Day, Swagger, Sweet Scent, Synthesis, Toxic, Uproar, Weather Ball
If I'm allowed to buff this despite Cacturne "existing," turn it into a wood hammer clone. If not, I can just add that as a signature move
Role: Grass mon with decent stats and a strong STAB attack, alongside Spikes and Knock Off to click against the many Grass resists. Can fight Groudon and Kyogre if healthy, with each of its abilities making it stronger against one of the two. Solarbeam, Weather Ball, and Grasswhistle were removed from its Natdex movepool so it doesn't just become as a sun sweeper.
Checks/Counters: Pokemon Grass doesn't have a type advantage against do pretty well against it, including Latis, birds, and Steel types. It can't cover all of these with one Hidden Power type, so it will get forced out by things that threaten to set up on it. A lot of the best Ubers will also have strong Fire or Ice attacks for it, and non-sun weathers effectively prevent it from healing.

Name: Florges
Type: Grass
Stats: 78/65/68/112/154/75 (552)
Abilities: Flower Veil
Full movepool: Aromatherapy, Baton Pass, calm mind, endeavor, giga drain, Grass Knot, heal bell, hidden power, hyper beam, light screen, metronome, protect, psychic, rest, rain dance, sleep talk, substitute, sunny day, toxic, trick, wish
Role: status immune celebi
Checks/Counters: can't really touch rayquaza, latis, birds, and steels has a tough time switching in on basically anything because it's so slow however this thing is blissey's worst nightmare can't be toxic'd because of flower veil so teehee

Damn, I wanted to submit Abomasnow but got outsped. Hopefully there are no more Ice types this round, Abomasnow has to win this slate.

jellicent.gif.m.1754256314

Name: Jellicent.
Type: Water/Ghost
Stats: 100/60/70/85/105/60
Abilities: Water Absorb / Damp
Movepool: Acid Armor, Blizzard, Destiny Bond, Facade, Frustration, Giga Drain, Hidden Power, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Night Shade, Pain Split, Protect, Psychic, Recover, Return, Shadow Ball, Sleep Talk, Sludge Bomb, Substitute, Toxic, Waterfall, Water Spout, Absorb, Attract, Bind, Bubble, Bubble Beam, Constrict, Dive, Double Team, Dream Eater, Endure, Flash, Hail, Hyper Beam, Icy Wind, Imprison, Mist, Poison Sting, Psych Up, Rain Dance, Safeguard, Secret Power, Shock Wave, Snore, Spite, Swagger, Water Pulse, Water Gun, Whirlpool.
Notable moves removed: Will-o-Wisp, Taunt, Trick, Rest.

Role: Counters non Thunder Kyogre and Fire Lax (will lose to Thunder and EQ/Shadow Ball respectively). Absorbs all Explosions of the tier. Spreads Toxic and uses 32 PP Recovers to Stall things out, using Surf + Night Shade to do damage. Checks Metagross too, unless it uses Shadow Ball.

Checks/Counters: All Refresh + CM Mons (Latis) easily beat Jellicent. It can,t touch Blissey and is especially vulnerable to Toxic since it doesn,t learn Rest. Kyogre with Thunder breaks Jellicent, especially if it has Surf or Rest. Every Mon that has Shadow Ball avoids being walled by Jellicent and therefore beats it most of the time. Victreebel in Sun takes everything Jellicent can throw at it and smashes it with Solar Beam. Every Mon that learns Substitute, has more than 100 HP and outspeeds Jellicent, will avoid the Toxic most of the time: Kyogre, Groudon, Mewtwo, Ho-oh, Lugia, and even Rayquaza. Some bulky Steels wall Jellicent too, like Jirachi.

kilowattrel.gif.m.1754256314

Name: Kilowattrel
Type: Electric-Flying
Stats: 70/60/60/115/60/125
Abilities: Volt Absorb / Keen Eye
Movepool: Agility, Endeavor, Facade, Protect, Quick Attack, Rest, Sleep Talk, Substitute, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave, Weather Ball, Aerial Ace, Air Cutter, Charge, Endure, Feather Dance, Fly, Growl, Hyper Beam, Peck, Scary Face, Spark, Swift, Take Down, Thunder Shock, Hidden Power.
Notable added moves: Hidden Power.
Role: Kilowatrell is a fast special attacker and a Zapdos upgrade, despite being weaker and frailer. Its a Zapdos upgrade because of 2 reasons: for once, it learns Weather Ball, allowing it to have a second coverage move along with Hidden Power (this does require using Groudon, Kyogre or the likely Abomasnow to work best). But it doesn,t end there, because Special walls like Blissey are not safe from this bird. The relatively low HP is used to its advantage to launch Endeavor, heavily denting any counter before dying. This helps other Special Attackers to break through Special walls and forces mind games and more offensive playing.

Checks/Counters: Ice Beam and Rock Slide Mons KO it before it can move. This includes Mewtwo, Aerodactyl, Deoxys and weather sweepers such as Omastar and Kabutops.
Kilowatrell is very frail, so if the opponent lives its hit and attacks back, its likely dead (unless instead of attacking it uses Substitute). Latios, Latias and Regice are some of the Mons that take this bird's hits and can KO it back.
Blissey and Snorlax will be very annoyed by Endeavor and likely killed by some teammates, but they will still kill Kilowatrell most of the time.
Tyranitar removes Rain (or Sun), therefore Weather Ball will be using Kilowatrell's poor physical attack and Thunders won,t have perfect accuracy. It also takes Kilowatrel's moves reasonably well and will KO with Rock Slide.
Unless Kilowatrell uses flying STAB or Fire Weather Ball, it will be fully walled by the rare Shedinja.

crustle.gif.m.1754256314

Name: Crustle
Type: Bug-Rock
Stats: 70/105/125/65/95/50
Abilities: Shell Armor/Guts
Movepool: Counter, Curse, Earthquake, Facade, Frustration, Hidden Power, Knock Off, Protect, Rest, Return, Rock Blast, Rock Slide, Substitute, Sword Dance, Toxic, Aerial Ace, Attract, Cut, Dig, Double Team, Endure, Feint Attack, Flail, Hyper Beam, Nature Power, Rock Tomb, Sand Attack, Sandstorm, Secret Power, Slash, Snore, Solar Beam, Strength, Swagger, Withdraw, X-Scissor.
Signature move: X-Scissor. Type: Bug. Power: 100. Accuracy: 100. PP: 24. No additional effect.

Role: Crustle is Armaldo's rival. Both have the same typing, exactly the same Stats (taking into account Armaldo's new Stats), Knock Off and Shell Armor as ability. Thats where the similarities end though. While Armaldo removes Spikes with Rapid Spin, Crustle sets them. Armaldo uses Shed Skin to heal status, while Crustle uses Guts to hit harder. Armaldo is a little specially bulkier, Crustle wins on the physical side. Armaldo hits harder, but will lose to Crustle because it has 5 more points in Speed.
Crustle has 2 other things that make it a viable sidegrade to Armaldo. One is Solar Beam, coupled with 65 Special Attack. Groudon will easily switch into Armaldo and start boost on it, but Crustle can hit the sunny dino with Solar Beam quite hard (though its still a massive oportunity cost.
The other thing is X-Scissor. Armaldo for Bug STAB has to choose either the unaccurate Megahorn or the weak Hidden Power. Meanwhile, Crustle has a very reliable STAB.
Like Armaldo, Crustle walls most Snorlax, especially if using Shell Armor + Curse/Withdraw + Rest.
It does not outclass Armaldo, due to Rapid Spin being a massive advantage in a word that lacks Ghosts for now, but its still a very viable alternative to it.

Checks/Counters: Crustle is not passive, but Kyogre will still come repeated times on it and launch powerful Surfs. Similarly, Metagross can take everything that Crustle throws and use Meteor Mash.
If Crustle does not use Solar Beam, Groudon easily comes in and starts using powerful moves or boosting.
The new Golem can take some EQs (but not Solar Beam in Sun), Spin the Spikes and use its own Rock STAB to force Crustle out.
Similarly, the new Solrock only is annoyed by Knock (which annoys EVERYTHING) and Toxic, so it will come in and use powerful Rock Slides.
Skarmory doesn,t win vs Crustle, but will get its own Spikes on it and maybe use Toxic too.
Forretress with HP Stell should be able to outlast Crustle and remove its hazards.
Finally, even with increased Special Defense, Crustle won,t be taking many Special moves, so thats another way to defeat it. Lack of recovery outside of Rest means Crustle is somewhat vulnerable to Toxic, since it has 4 slot syndrome.
