Congratulations to the Amazing Aipoms for winning the second edition of MFPL.

Any teams that were used or considered for use by any team, in any tier featured, may be posted here. Additionally, shoutouts are encouraged! Getting new faces involved in the Monotype tour scene was the goal of this tour, and shouting out players is a great way to get them noticed.

Please format teams in a Pokepaste, and use spoiler tags if you would like to detail the team's use or story.

sup sup, I had an incredible time managing this tournament. Very glad I got the opportunity to manage again after having learned so much from last time. big shoutout to my team for being a wonderful environment, everyone contributed and even when we were down nobody gave up. I've wanted to do a team share post for a while, some stuff is older but everything was floated in our mfpl server at one point or another, and there won't really be an order in which I post these teams:

:articuno: / :thundurus-therian: :gliscor: :enamorus: :corviknight: :dragonite: :tornadus-therian: - https://pokepast.es/fef11f1212a81384 | https://pokepast.es/b2d69c5ade6df871

after starting blt 0-2 I went on mostly vibes. The vibes told me that drizzle was a primarily fat player with a knack to use water stuff, so I said ok here's substitute thundurus therian with grass knot to punish all the do nothing stuff in the tier. Able to set up on Clodsire, Toxapex, Non-SD Gliscor after leftovers is knocked, and a bunch of other stuff. the goat thundurus ended up clutching a 1v4 to win the game. when it came time for hammy to fight drizzle I posted the team and said go for it. hammy ended up not liking thundurus and changed it for articuno. sub toxic gliscor is good, electric is bad.

jack played maroon week 1 of blt and asked for my help. I noticed maroon's scout was super weak to nasty plot tornadus (use goodra on steel folks) so I put this together real quick. no idea why i used choice band landorus but jack said soft sand would do. anyway he didn't use this team so when it came time for me to play maroon I used it, band landorus and all. would've lost but got bailed by flame body

originally built this to use vs mind gaming but he no showed so i just reused it vs maroon because i knew good and well he was gonna use fire after i used heatran-less steel in the previous round. In the same vein, I made this heatran-less fire team, because I think it is largely unnecessary. I don't need to get rocks up myself because opponents will want to get them up and I can just use court change, and he is a lackluster ground immunity. Is this line of thinking good? I don't know, but the team is fun and I have found some success with it. Originally I had specs volcanion over Arcanine, as well as focus sash Ceruledge instead of air balloon. I very quickly realized that I lost on preview to scarf Kleavor and just about every Landorus-I. So I went with Scarf Arcanine and Air Balloon Ceruledge. Max HP Ninetales is better imo because you shouldn't really be using Ninetales as an attacker.

:hatterene: :hoopa-unbound: :latios: :slowking: :metagross: :iron-boulder: - https://pokepast.es/54c33ab09cb02204

made this for vapo, was modified before the match and I think he quite likes that team and wanted to share it himself so I won't steal his thunder. Latios and Hoopa are super broken and I think para-spam enables them in a crazy way. Psychic is lowkey solid but struggles to fit everything necessary imo. Psychic would be crazy if it could fit spikes and if it's fastest scarfer didn't hit like a wet noodle. There is potential here for sure.

:pelipper: :barraskewda: :swampert: :ogerpon-wellspring: :toxapex: :greninja: - https://pokepast.es/592935d70284bd34

pretty standard rain. It originally had Alomomola instead of Toxapex but lolo and mole didn't love it so we changed (alomomola is super broken). Since water, especially rain, struggles to fit hazard control Alomomola being able to heal up the boys seemed super broken in my mind and it works pretty well.

(:urshifu-rapid-strike: / :keldeo:) (:greninja: / :walking-wake:) (:toxapex: / :alomomola:) :swampert: :primarina: :ogerpon-wellspring: - https://pokepast.es/1e7e5a97090afab4 | https://pokepast.es/effa38a4c5db4a14

I've used variations of this team a ton. Primarina and a Fighting type make an excellent core. You can mix and match scarf greninja, specs greninja, scarf wake, scarf urshifu, whatever you like. The team is very customizable and very fun. Mole went for Alomomola instead of Toxapex, in hindsight we should've re-tooled some of the team because no Toxapex makes the team too weak to Ogerpon and Volcarona

:archaludon: :goodra-hisui: :kyurem: :latias: :walking-wake: :garchomp: - https://pokepast.es/9bd82b4672c159a2

Bonus team I got the platinum altruism ladder achievement with. Hazard support Garchomp felt pretty good paired with 2 excellent breakers. My main takeaway from this was how pleasantly surprised I was that Walking Wake actually felt very strong.

I think the community is in a great spot. This tournament showed plenty of newer players that posted great records and the room is always active with players who want to learn and are eager to participate in tournaments. I'm always willing to help players get better, so please don't be afraid of posting a team in the mono room asking for help, or even just dming me individually. I'm very glad to be a part of this community and equally as happy that I can contribute to making it a welcoming place for newer players.

Gm, record could've been better but I'll take a 5-2!

Week 1 vs PandaDoux [W] Steel VS Fairy
:iron treads: :archaludon: :skarmory: :heatran: :gholdengo: :Scizor:
Under the guidance of steel's strongest soldier (thanks royal) I was tempted to bring it week 1, and wow it payed off. Pretty standard everywhere since it was week 1 and I didn't want to use something crazy, but the MU ended up being as good as the team!

Week 2 vs Dunes [W] Dragon vs Water
:archaludon: :Goodra-hisui: :Dragapult: :roaring moon: :garchomp: :latios:
We couldn't really tell much useful from the scout here- and when that happens what else can you do but use Dragon! The only slightly unique set here is CM Latios, which ended up putting in great work even if the matchup was favoured anyway.

Week 3 vs SBAP [L] Water vs Dark
:Samurott-hisui: :Toxapex: :swampert: :manaphy: :alomomola: :greninja:
At this point in time I was high on low ladder manaphy, I will confess. This was not the opponent to try this against as I was badly punished by a tough matchup and I ended up playing badly from nerves (I got promoted just after so it didn't last long). Anyway, the build itself I took more feedback on than before, Esword suggested boots manaphy + alo to keep it and pert healthy which worked great in testing so I went with it. Pex, SD samurott and Scarf greninja all felt like fairly standard picks to round out the team.

Week 4 I was dropped because idk but I lost so fairs

Week 5 vs Pr1nce0fAllSaiyans [W] Ground vs Ground
:Landorus: :Great tusk: :Hippowdon: :excadrill: :mamoswine: :clodsire:

This was the real shitty week where I didn't have time time to prep, so I had a quick look at my builder a few minutes before and decided to use a ground I topped ladder with ages ago. Im pretty happy with the team comp, AV mamo always takes a specs lati draco meteor and KOs back, and is nice for greninja's guessing games. But that never happened, we loaded a mirror. I think at that point I just played it quite well, but an enjoyable one nonetheless.

Week 6 vs Manan999 [W] Psychic vs Flying
:scream tail: :hoopa-unbound: :slowking: :latios: :metagross: :Iron boulder:
My scout was not quite weak enough to dark at this point so I went with Neko's really fun plan to use SCREAM tail!! Royal did build a perfectly good psychic team but it just wasn't right without SCREAM tail, so I made a few edits (Neko also kept me away from running trick on scream to meme vs knock) and loved the team. I played the game itself well enough to win I think despite losing arguably the best mon in the matchup, had a lot of fun that week.

Week 7 vs seth [W] Fighting vs Dark
:iron valiant: :great tusk: :sneasler: :iron hands: :urshifu-rapid strike: :scrafty:
The mental build up to this was crazy lol, I knew seth would load some kind of dark since he can pilot whatever and my scout was finally amazingly weak to it, so I gambled and it worked! Scarf sneas, shifu>keldeo was a bit weird to me at first since I always go keldeo and scrafty was an awesome pointer from Jack. Not much else to say, I didn't play badly enough to throw it so whatever.

Semis vs ySagaz_ [L] Dark vs Ghost
:Darkrai: :meowscarada: :samurott-hisui: :mandibuzz: :hoopa-unbound: :ting lu:

Unfortunately this was my worst week in terms of prep and it came in semis. Huge thanks to adjustments for letting me steal your boots dark, and that was the only good that really came out of this week for me. I wasn't really comfortable with dark, didn't enjoy it in tests but I brought it anyway (this is of no discredit to the team, it is amazing when I'm not piloting) and lost. This was more a problem with them being Scarf flutter mane and I skipped turn 1 which involved the only calc I really needed to pick up on. Need to play perfectly to win these, and I didn't sadly.

Huge thank you to everyone on the team, especially RoyalReloaded jackuzzler and even feen for drafting me and having faith in me to win. Every golett was amazing (adjustments you were basically one of us so thank you aswell for being amazing support <3) and I had a lot of fun this tour, hope to see you all again in the future!
