Saved one of the most notable in, at least to my personal 1v1 career, for last. Long story short, actually is still gonna be a bit long, I first entered the world of 1v1 during the 2023 1v1 Majors, where my first ever 1v1 opponents were in Pools Phase 1, of DEG, Clouds, and TrainerPla. Then in Pools Phase 2, there was DEG (again!?), justdelemon, and Fancy1. Yea, pretty rough crowd to start my first 1v1 tour, especially since a lot of my mons were just from sample teams. Next, was Round 1, the first phase of the tour where I only had to concentrate on a single opponent. This was the first ever time I ever tried to cteam someone in a Pokemon game EVER, and this is prob where my joy for buidling 1v1 started. I remember I built mons like vest magnezone nicknamed "Presssd for Time" as a way to try to get Sword to unconsciously think it was a iron defense body press set instead. But the most important mon to ever emerge from this nicknaming scheme was my favorite flying-type: Corviknight, aka "Daunting". With all the set compedium corvs being mostly a taunt variant, I tried to lure the idea I was too with how taunt and daunt rhyme; yea, i really was a sweaty nerd back then. Equipping it with assault vest + mirror armor, it became a staple for me, as it defeated stuff like oger-flame who'd taunt t1 or even stall azu (which it prob shouldn't). Honestly, if I had lost early in Majors, I prob would have just dropped 1v1 altogether and tried a different metagame, just as I had dropped hackmons and monotype before this tour. I still remember how when I first joined the 1v1 cord, I looked up my name to see the first things being DEG complaining about his pool phase 1 opponents, Lumii (now bellchime) asking who Indi01 as a response, and scrolling down a bit to find you complaining over losing to a rando, which at the time and still now I feel bad for given you would've made it pretty high in the tour given the remaining opponents. However, I do have to admit how great I felt at the time for beating someone with a single team of mons that I built specifically with one person in mind, while only changing items/sets if the team that mon was built to 3-0 already was used. And since then, I've kept an eye on your SV tour series, and really enjoyed learning how to better improve my building skills from how you built your teams. It was a great honor to fight together on the same team this PL, and although I didn't expect you to be given the chance to play much after missing that one series, I was really glad to see you providing the team with feedback and support, especially in the ORAS department. Good luck in your future teamtours, and thanks for giving me the opportunity to join such a great Pokemon community. :D
