have you considered that I just have anxiety and am self-awareIf I have the gun right now I shoot celever because their entry to the thread represents an overly self-aware perception of how others are viewing them in the thread, presenting a general anxiety of coming under suspicion at a point where they are not yet comfortable with their thread presence, in a position where a town oriented mindset would not be concerned unless they were specifically thinking that a fairy was targeting them as a misfire...on page 1.
TBH Im not sure if Ive ever played Popcorn before so I cant say for sure whether or not this is true. But if I were maf I would probably double down on defending my teammates here. Because when town successfully shoots maf they earn another mislynch, so I think its even more devastating to maf to lose a teammate.I'm sorry to say that this will be a difficult first game for you, the structure of popcorn leads itself to very different mafia motivations than traditional NOC, somewhat hazy memories from the last time I played this, but given the nature of the kill structure and the lack of night kill analysis motivations, mafia play tends to encourage significantly more isolationist game play than the usual expected coordination. It's fundamentally a structure about individual game reads - this is particularly more difficult from the town side of things in that it also discourages active discussion and consensus building
I was also joking gang :sob:I was jokingly accusing Tommy of also joking about the Top CC badge vs Smog Awards in scumchat with you and DBD
the with them is important in that sentence![]()
Ah interesting. Like I said, this is my first time playing this setup that I recall so I hadnt really thought about it at all. I just checked my phone and saw Hyhy was chosen and thought "ok", and scrolled down and was surprised to see you thought it was an unusual pick. I guess my stance as scum would be to elect a gunbearer who I think I can pocket to start with and then hope town makes a comedy of errors. Which lets be honest, there probably will be a comedy of errors by towni spent most of the decision period trying to wonder what mafia's plan would be. my gut instinct was to give the gun to des, but i think any of those other people would've made good options too. hh would not have been on my shortlist, though i do see the logic.
I appreciate the insight! Yeah this is def different than any other mafia I’ve played before (same with the final fantasy one that just happened). I think it’s interesting that you say “who is making the post and why? what do they gain from it?” Because so far (and this is not a personal shot at anyone) I see a lot of what I would call nothingburgers or fluff from people. So based off your post here that makes me think of the opposite of my initial suspicions, where maf members might be trying to distract rather than lay low.phoopes I'm sorry to say that this will be a difficult first game for you, the structure of popcorn leads itself to very different mafia motivations than traditional NOC, somewhat hazy memories from the last time I played this, but given the nature of the kill structure and the lack of night kill analysis motivations, mafia play tends to encourage significantly more isolationist game play than the usual expected coordination. It's fundamentally a structure about individual game reads - this is particularly more difficult from the town side of things in that it also discourages active discussion and consensus building, I don't need to convince you my reads are good if I'm willing to have you shoot me so I can shoot my reads. This approach tends to be the default for anyone coming into the structure because the incentive structure supports the hero shot, but it's of course inherently anti-town to push for a self shot when it limits shots on mafia reads or POE - on that note POEs are very difficult to make coherent given all the above, it's much easier for a mafia member to play a pure town game without consequence and thus slip into the town "core" in the end game.
All town should be first and foremost focused on making their reads on an individual level, assess the motivations, who is making the post and why? What do they gain from it? What are the mindsets in which they are more or less likely to approach? What does the projected emotional state imply about the worlds in which they make that post?
no you're correct and should say it. d1 alleviates it but like, this is good perspectiveBecause so far (and this is not a personal shot at anyone) I see a lot of what I would call nothingburgers or fluff from people.
I don't mind being shot tbh, it's not a good play for town but at least I get a cool gun or somethingA Unicycle is a cycle with only one wheel, typically used by acrobats. The modern unicycle which is propelled by pedals originates from the 1800s but unicycles without pedals can be dated back far longer. This has been... unhelpful informationbut I believe this is the day that never ends
I think we should shoot AirC btw, they are number one on my list
Damn look at all these people dropping town slips everywhereAura Guardian I didn’t even know the game started until now, this is why we need role PMs. It’s not that hard to copypaste for however many town are in this game.
PM3 the early game we voted on the killIs there a better strategy for now than to just randomly shoot someone? I don't see how we can get any info without killing someone
