Functioning as a niche setup sweeper, Iron Crown can leverage its good natural bulk and excellent coverage to effectively sweep. Psychic Noise is used to prevent healing from foes such as Gliscor and Moltres, while also being a more reliable STAB option when not yet set up. As an alternative, Stored Power can be used in conjunction with Iron Defense in order to make Iron Crown a threatening double dance sweeper. Focus Blast is used to hit Steel-types such as Heatran and Ferrothorn who could otherwise comfortably take Iron Crown's STAB moves. Tachyon Cutter is used to hit Fairy-types such as Hatterene and Tapu Lele who would otherwise be able to switch in on Iron Crown. Iron Defense can be used as previously mentioned to boost the power of Stored Power, while also making Iron Crown more resistant into physical attacker such as Zamazenta and Ogerpon-W letting it turn them into setup fodder. 172 SpA EVs are used in order to grant Iron Crown with Quark Drive speed from Booster energy, letting it out speed most foes.
This Iron Crown set fits exclusively on hyper offense teams where its ability to clean late-game is appreciated. Due to often lacking the bulk to set up reliably dual screens support from teammates such as Zamazenta and Tapu Koko are appreciated, with the latter also activating its Quark Drive, potentially enabling Iron Crown to run a different item. Another good teammate is Tapu Lele who provides Iron Crown with an immunity to priority from foes such as Kingambit courtesy of Psychic Terrain, while also boosting the power of its Psychic-type moves. In return, Iron Crown can provide a switch-in to Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, while also threatening foes such as Hatterene. Iron Crown struggles to beat Gholdengo, meaning Fire-type teammates that can threaten it such as Volcarona and Mega Charizard-X are appreciated. In return Iron Crown can threaten foes such as Toxapex who could otherwise come in comfortably. Iron Crown also struggles with Ground-types such as Choice Scarf Landorus-T and Gliscor, meaning Flying-types such as Dragonite and your own Landorus-T make excellent teammates, with Landorus-T also effectively damaging Steel-types making it easier for Iron Crown to sweep. In return Iron Crown can break through Flying-types such as Zapdos and Tornadus-T who would otherwise be able to wall Landorus-T. Iron Crown also struggles to beat Ting Lu, meaning Fighting-type teammates such as Zamazenta and Iron Valiant are enjoyed, with Iron Crown in return beating Fairy-types such as Mega Diancie, Clefable and Hatterene.

Teammates that are vulnerable to the aformentioned Fairy-types, such as Dragonite, Garchomp and Hisuian Samurott all value Iron Crowns defensive capabilities as a result of this. In return, all 3 can effectively pressure opposing Steel-types such as Heatran and Gholdengo. Iron Crown struggles with Ground-type foes such as Garchomp, Landorus-T and Gliscor, meaning Flying-type teammates such as Zapdos and Moltres are enjoyed. In return Iron Crown can provide a good switchin against Electric-types such as Raging Bolt and Tapu Koko that could otherwise threaten them. Iron Crown also struggles to break bulky Dark-types such as Ting Lu, meaning Fighting-types like Zamazenta, Iron Valiant and Urshifu-R can make good teammates. In return Iron Crown can provide a reliable answer to Psychic- and Fairy-types including the aforementioned Iron Valiant as well as Tapu Lele as well as pivoting them in against Steel-types such as Ferrothorn.
