[SET COMMENTS]
Although Landorus typically run Sheer Force and Life Orb, Choice Scarf Landorus can be used effectively as a reliable form of speed control alongside its Ground-type friends. Earth Power is a reliable STAB move that can check Steel- and Poison- types like Archaludon and Iron Moth while also doing great damage to neutral types. Sludge Wave is great coverage to deal with Fairy and Grass type's like Iron Valiant and the Ogerpon Formes after minor chip. Focus Blast checks threatening Dark- types like Choice Specs Greninja and non Choice Scarf Meowscarada, while also hitting Steel- types like Skarmory in which Earth Power can't. Rock Slide With a Naive nature is a good alternative move to deal with Flying- types like Articuno and Moltres that Ground can struggle against, while also checking Volcarona. U-Turn is a great form of pivot, allowing Landorus to swap out while also checking Hoopa-Unbound.
This style of set is typically ran on sand-less Ground teams, so having a Defensive partner like Quagsire pairs effectively as with Unaware and great Defense investment can Quagsire take hits from threats like Urshifu-Rapid-Strike and Belly Drum Azumarill while also providing Status and Hazard support with Toxic, Spikes, and Stealth Rocks depending on which one you choose. Clodsire is Ground's best Water immunity, so having it paired with Landorus in front of other threats like Ogerpon-Wellspring and Choice Band Barraskewda is very appreciated as a immediate swap in. Clodsire also can spread status and set hazards to help Landorus sweep late game as well. Gliscor can also be a great pairing with Landorus as it has a plethora of options to either be a Defensive partner, a secondary wall-breaker, or additionally spread status and hazards with reliable recovery with Poison Heal and Toxic Orb along with Protect to scout for Choice-locked users. Iron Treads effectively pairs well with Landorus as not only can it take Ice- type hits reliably, but it also provides hazard removal with Rapid Spin. Mixed Garchomp complements Landorus as well as it has access to setting hazards, while also being a reliable check to Dragon's like Kyurem and Hydreigon with Life Orb Draco Meteor along with Corviknight with Fire Blast. Great Tusk is an alternative Defensive switch in that has access to hazard removal with Rapid Spin and remove pesky items with Knock Off from faster Choice-locked Pokemon like Meowscarada. Mamoswine pairs as a secondary wall-breaker, although slower, can utilize a Choice Band and defeat Flying-types that threaten Great Tusk like Tornadus Therian and Gliscor, while also dealing great damage to the Steel- flyers like Corviknight and Skarmory. Mamoswine is also a great swap in to Flying-type teams that use Articuno with it's neutrality to Ice- and ability Thick Fat.
