Hello and welcome to playoffs.

Playoffs Portion Rules
  • Rounds will be Best of Three. You may switch teams in between battles of the same set. Playoffs are Single Elimination.
  • Matches are to be played on Pokemon Showdown!. Smogtours is mandatory for the entirety of playoffs.
  • Replays are required for all matches.
  • Activity calls will be made by me, potentially with neutral assistance from a BW Moderator or Tournament Director. Coin flips will be done publicly on PS!
  • In the event that something is added to or removed from the BW OU metagame in the middle of a round, that change will be in effect starting the next round.

The seeding for the playoffs portion was done on order of qualification. Cycle 1 Rank 1 will be seed 1, Cycle 2 Rank 1 will be seed 2, so on (Cycle 1 Rank 2 will be seed 5).

6. ReshiRampage vs 11. Wesleyy

1. Cow vs 16. NoName6293 - Cow will likely be the favourite amongst many here, due to his vast experience in the tier and coming off the back of success in BW Seasonals and BW WCOP, however, NoName also has very good competitive fundamentals with some impressive tour wins, such as beating pkel in the DPP OU 2024 Circuit (pkel likely was the favourite there) - don't write NoName off, but I think Cow may edge it.

8. chansey and lulu vs 9. Raiza - Both are good players, however, I think Raiza's BW and overall Smogon experience means I'll be bolding him here.

4. nigel vs 13. Cielau - One that may surprise some, however, although nigel had a great seasonal run and has the fundamentals, I believe Cielau will edge it here. Both are creative builders, and will be an interesting match.

5. Monai vs 12. egalvanc - Coming off another tour win (DPL), the confidence will be high here. In all seriousness, I've seen Monai perform well in several tours, and with their vast experience and success in BW, will have to be the favourite here.

2. Remnonc vs 15. violet river - Two talents here, however, I believe violet river will have the advantage in this match up.

7. Meridian vs 10. Dusk - I don't really know Meridian much unfortunately compared to Dusk, I'll be bolding Dusk here.

3. Lezzz_gooo vs 14. Sergio Aguero - A hype match up, but if Sergio is back in his BW prime, I think he will win the set.

6. ReshiRampage vs 11. Wesleyy - Although I would probably say Reshi is more experienced in BW, I think Wesleyy has the better fundamentals overall, so will slightly edge him in this one (just make sure you bring a ground resist unlike our seasonals match lol)

P.S. These predictions are just a bit of fun, everyone here is solid hence why you all qualified - good luck everyone!
