/!\ Only the playoffs phase at the end of the 8 separate Cups (SS, SM, ORAS, BW, DPP, ADV, GSC, RBY) will grant UU Tournament Circuit points (on a basis that will be adapted to the number of entries). There will be a best finish limit present in this edition of the tournament.
Won vs my friend reina, ggs. funny that this tour was the first time we ever really interacted however many years ago. youve come a long long way since then and im glad we got to play. Also thanks to Indigo Plateau for hosting and dealing w my constant tags for the new round.
Also managed to win this one without dropping a game like last year. If that comes off as a brag then fair, you're probably right. To me it just makes me happy that it's possible to be that consistent in this tier. I've talked about it a million times, but Conk meta was incredibly matchup based and barely anyone built fresh. The tier could not be more different these days, there is a lot of room for creativity. There are a ton of viable team frameworks and that has shown with some of the player base's own unique styles as well. Over time that has become one of my favorite aspects of this awful game; people putting their own spin and ideas into practice and carving out their own approaches. In any case, this is just a good tier to play and I could not be more happy with its development in recent years.
ggs to you and congrats on the flawless repeat, incredible achievement and good luck in playoffs if you end up making it. As you mentioned this tour is the reason why we started talking all those years ago so i'm happy we got the chance to play for it in the finals, especially after years of somehow dodging each others even though I've been slotted in this more than i would've imagined(or liked). Leaving a bit bittersweet as I think i could've done better both games but overall still happy with some games I played through the tour and it was probably the most enjoyable the tier has been for me in years. And speaking of that, I'd love to double down on what pak mentioned: this tier has come a long way from the dark conk days and is now one of the best pokémon experiences you can have in my opinion. Whatever kind of teamstyle you want to use is at least playable in it, everyone who has been playing it for years has their own style and takes that differ quite a bit from someone else's, it's reasonably balanced even though there's a portion of the tier that elevates itself from the rest and as much as it's not perfect it's one of the tiers that still offer some real back and forth nowadays. Lastly (and the reason why I wanted to make this post really) I just wanted to say a big thank you to umbry for making every team I've used in this cup or in this tier in general in the past 3 years, I can't stress out enough how talented of a builder you are for being able to make teams that both adapt to anyone using them but also play exactly to their strengths at times like it happens with me in this tier, I really love your work and think if there's anyone other than pak and dingbat who has had incredible influence on how this tier is played nowadays that's definitely you.
