5* Raids for Shiny Treasures of Ruin

Honestly hitting Chi-Yu physically is the better way to go anyway. 80 Defense vs 120 Special Defense.

Could maybe be another time for Azumarill to shine? (You know, for everyone; doipy hooves is way ahead of everyone there)
That may be true, but Kyogre is the exception to that rule since it comes with Rain and incredibly high SpA, and Chi-Yu’s low HP isn’t helping its special bulk that much, at least at 25x HP:

252+ SpA Kyogre Water Spout (150 BP) vs. Lvl 75 0 HP / 0 SpD Tera Fire Chi-Yu in Rain: 1020-1200 (21.4 - 25.2% of 25x hp boss) -- 0.1% chance to 4HKO

252+ SpA Kyogre Origin Pulse vs. Lvl 75 0 HP / 0 SpD Tera Fire Chi-Yu in Rain: 746-882 (15.7 - 18.5% of 25x hp boss) -- possible 6HKO

For a one-turn KO against even a 30x HP Chi-Yu:

:Kyogre: :Golduck: :Goodra: :Chi-Yu:

252+ SpA Choice Specs Beads of Ruin Kyogre Water Spout (150 BP) vs. -4 Lvl 75 0 HP / 0 SpD Tera Fire Chi-Yu in Rain: 6090-7166 (106.8 - 125.7% of 30x hp boss) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ SpA Choice Specs Beads of Ruin Kyogre Atk Cheer Origin Pulse vs. -4 Lvl 75 0 HP / 0 SpD Tera Fire Chi-Yu in Rain: 6698-7884 (117.5 - 138.3% of 30x hp boss) -- guaranteed OHKO

Considering azumarill resists both stabs, this should be pretty free for it :pip:

I know that. The joke was that Kyogre won't appreciate having its Special Attack dropped thanks to Ting-Lu's ability.
Your whale overlord will submit to my sleeping Ting Lu AND YOU WILL LIKE IT :zonger:

You're making bro fall on hard times...

Given that there are only a few days left, isn’t it kind of odd that they haven’t announced any numbers for the Ting-Lu raids yet? I feel like by this time in the Wo-Chien and Chien-Pao runs, the official accounts had posted that we’d crossed the 1 million victories mark.

I just really want this Shiny Ting-Lu; it’s my second-favorite of the Treasures!

Wo-Chien's numbers were announced at Friday 00:30 UTC and Chien-Pao's was announced Saturday 00:00 UTC, so we haven't quite reached either scheduled point yet for it to be out of the ordinary. We'll see which it is within about 3 hours or a day after that.

The drop off between wochien & chienpao is not indicative enough of ting-lu missing the mark. It would have to be a catastrophic further drop that I just don't see happening. People still want these shinies and you probably got enough randos grinding it out just in case to tip the scales to meet the million threshold.

I also think, after mulling it over the last time I went "hey is it weird" with chien-pao, if there was a sign of it not making it, they would post it earlier because at the end of the day they do probably want to give these things out and the vibes would be Bad if we failed that hard. And probably a lot more, ah, public than the time we continually failed the Gen 7 plaza missions.

That’s quite a significant drop off compared to the other two, no? Glad we have managed to get the third one! Lets go get that final one. I have a few water types I am going to trial out.

Or I could just try Sylveon and metronome again. XD

The early totals for Wo-Chien & Chien-Pao were 3,504,861 and 2,956,622

It's honestly about as much dropdoff. Arguably Wo-Chien -> Chien-Pao probably had more of one because I think Chien-Pao & Ting-Lu were 1 week totals but Wo-Chien was 5 days.

Again I think this makes sense. Wo-Chien was always going to have the biggest push behind it. It went live basically immediately after the presents, it had the most unknown about if we could make it and it's probably the easiest of the 4. After that it's a lot easier to forget to do them after their lengthy play period and there's not as much incentive to do them since it beat the threshold so easily. Those factors will compound on themselves.

I was wondering if the drop offs were from raid fatigue setting in for a lot of players. Constantly doing these raids with no knowledge of whether or not you even hit the threshold until a few days before it ends would be exhausting after awhile even if the reward at the end is extremely desirable like a previously unreleased shiny legendary.

I think it's just boredom.
There's no real challenge, the rewards are kinda whatever (most players at this point drown in money and TM items as well as herbas and whatnot).
You're literally just spamming the raid for no reason and at some point you ask yourself "ok but why".

And I can totally relate. I did Wo-chien twice then I went "ok but why am I even bothering?". I've done the other two once just for the sake of saying "yep i did it", but there's just... no reason to bother.

Feels like once more TPCI hasn't quite realized what makes a live service "interesting". Expecially when even if they failed the deadline... lol you think they'd really go "btw you failed the Chi-You amount, no shiny for you :)".

I mean they still got over 2 million things when their expectations were 1 million so I think they consider this a success even if most people just do it once for the rewards and to contribute a +1

Oh I know, it was just in response to "why are the numbers dropping".

Ofc they are, outside of the novelty of doing it once, there's little incentive to repeat it. In the end even if people just do it "once each" that's probably way more than 1m kills on its own, without need of any repeat.
