With all that in mind, lets discuss what we think of these Pokémon - both for their competitive merit and their potential as the base forms for future submissions!

Code:
:kingdra: -

:nidoqueen: -

:bisharp: -

:corviknight: -

:krookodile: -

:ogerpon: -

We return for submissions on August 23rd. Until then, stay tuned!

:kingdra: - it’s basically water latios here, pretty neat overall and is ok at best comparatively but quite healthy to “six by six” due to its somewhat balanced stat line generating defensive dragons and waters potentially
:nidoqueen: - kinda holding everything together rn as the special wall, has potential to “six by six” into other good types as both poison and ground easily six by six, and it’s already a good type on its own. Depending on what type you do change it too, I’d be careful on how unkillable this thing can get, as the only thing keeping this is its only ok typing and low defenses
:bisharp: - the sharper. A much needed physical attacker, who will eventually be able to transfer out physically defensive steels depending on what future “six by sixers” submit. Does have the scizor method of sd bp which allow it to contend with the relatively stronger power level seen by this set, and future six by sixes can keep this role or make a way to deal with itself.
:corviknight: - it’s zapdos, kinda sucks that it needs to antisynergy heat wave to utilize its only really useful ability, but other than that it’s solid and opens weather warring early so six by sixers are informed and not subbing proto left and right. Is imo the weakest of the bunch due to this factor, but helps tone down the krook a lot but requires it to lose its best supporting coverage. A perilous decision as its other abilities are kinda meh and very situational
:krookodile: - this guy is kinda, really strong no? Both its magma storms and overheats + the mguard suite of benifits leads it to only itself checking itself as of right now, which isn’t a very good thing in a meta like this imo. Because everyone is gonna sub stuff that hard counters this (ie neutgas, extremely fat resists), which might not even consistently work considering it’s stab combo is very good, it has coverage to deal with the few multis that can deal with it, and has taunt switcheroo and encore, allowing it to brick pretty much everything slower while having semi competent defensive stats at 90/85/90 Also it gets eruption with mguard I guess? Kinda insane comparatively to some of the others, especially since it will share checks with kingdra + its variants due to them both having heavily special offenses that require fairies to deal with. I’m not sure if meta adaptation or just an outright nerf is required here but like, I do think it can be handled but subbers need to be very careful in the directions that you steer it, as it will almost always have fire coverage due to the sheer amount, and dark stab is very very good especially with buffed dark pulse.
:ogerpon: - very very strong as well, but in this case we have good poison special bulk that can be six by sixed that can reliably scare it and it’s future six by sixes. I personally hate fast wispers that are good but that was the exact stated intent of this mon (being pult clone) and it works out since you will likely need to remove it for coverage or other utility when you six by six

Not my favorite but it is pretty well planned out, and has some neat mons to “six by six” with capabilities to become very different mons due to stat balancing. I am excited to see where this goes!

A few announcements

- We now have a discord server! Click here to join.

- We now have a Form Tool Spreadhseet that helps users in creating their forms, telling you whether or not your submission is Legal and immediately formatting it to be copy/pasted onto the forums. Make a copy of this document and start editting the values in the blue boxes to fill out your submissions. Thanks to zxgzxg for the help!
(Do note we currently have a small issue where the sheet takes into account type order when validating forms. If you have a Fairy/Ghost and make a Ghost/Steel Form, the sheet will count as if both types are changed, even though it keeps the Ghost type. Keep this in mind when creating the submissions!)

- Due to Ogerpon only having one ability in its Base Form, I had to make a small update to the Ability rules for submission. In the event of a Pokémon only having one ability in its base form, Medium and Large changes allow it to gain one additional ability, so long as it still follows the other limitations set by the ability rules. (Medium-sized changes require you to stay within one similar ability and one free ability, whereas both abilities are free for Large-sized changes)

With those out of the way, let's move on!

:kingdra::nidoqueen::bisharp:Slate 1:corviknight::krookodile::ogerpon:

We may now begin Slate 1! Remember, the following is what you have to do for this slate:

  • Submit a form for the winners of Slate 0, those being listed here.
  • You may only submit one form per Pokémon.
  • You may submit a form for each of the 6 Pokémon, but you are not required to. (You may just make forms for some of them if you wish)
  • Remember to give a name to your form, and if possible, try to stick to the naming convention already established by the Slate 0 winners.
  • For every one Relevant Move you add, you must remove two. (following Showdown's own definition of Relevant and Usually Useless)
  • If the form's typing is changed, you may remove one Relevant Move of the type it lost and add one of the type it has gained.
  • The BST of a Pokémon must be the same across all of its forms.
  • Form-Changing abilities are banned.
  • For each form, you'll be able to do one Large, one Medium and one Small change to Abilities, Types and Stats.

TYPES
Small - Loses a type and becomes monotype or Typing remains unchanged
Medium - One type may be changed
Large - Both types are changed

STATS
Small - Changes only up to 10 points per stat or Stats stay unchanged
Medium - Changes up to 20 points per stat
Large - Changes up to 40 points per stat

ABILITIES
Small - May change up to 2 abilities, but has to keep a similar effect to the original
Medium - May change up to 2 abilities. One ability may be replaced freely, the other one with a similar effect to the original
Large - May replace or remove abilities freely

Submissions will be open until August 30. You may now post!

Base Stats: 50 (-40) / 110 (+40) / 100 (+20) / 100 (-30) / 120 (+30) / 70 (-20) [0 BST] (Large Grinder Lunch
Abilities: Berserk / Purifying Salt // Swift Swim (Small Sandwich)

Pain Split, Dragon Dance | Usually Useless Moves

Aqua Jet, Body Slam, Double-Edge, Dragon Hammer, Dragon Tail, Facade, Flip Turn, Knock Off, Liquidation, Outrage, Waterfall, Wave Crash

Blizzard, Clear Smog, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Scald, Surf, Tera Blast, Weather Ball | Aurora Beam, Bubble Beam, Chilling Water, Dragon Breath, Hyper Beam, Icy Wind, Muddy Water, Swift, Twister, Water Gun, Water Pulse, Whirlpool

Agility, Disable, Dragon Dance, Protect, Rest, Sleep Talk, Substitute | Dragon Cheer, Endure, Focus Energy, Leer, Rain Dance, Scary Face, Smokescreen, Snowscape, Splash, Yawn
- Knock Off, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Disable, Agility, Dragon Hammer, Dragon Tail, Outrage | Usually Useless Moves Lost
+ Mighty Cleave, Meteor Beam, Pain Split, Earthquake, Salt Cure, Power Gem | Usually Useless Moves Gained

Role Justification: swift swimmer with a bp neutral type and a relatively vulnerable rock side so it’s kept in check decently easily, while still being potent because it’s a swift swimmer. Also notable as a half decent switchin to krook as it’s quad resistant to fire and resistant to its most common coverage, I don’t think a water fairy is the solution to its power right now, but giving options to out offense it is. Also funny pain split abuser

Pokémon: Krookodile-Purgatorium
Type: Fire/Fairy
Base Stats: 90/90/95/93/95/90 [550 BST]
Abilities: Magic Guard/Snow Cloak/Dazzling
(full movepool W.I.P)
- Will-O-Wisp, Eruption, Magma Storm, Dark Pulse, Throat Chop, Shadow Claw| Usually Useless Moves Lost
+ Moonblast, Moonlight, Play Rough | Usually Useless Moves Gained

Role Justification: Unmaxed stats and the removal of strong offensive tools allows you to use your newly added recovery to make use of tools like Encore and Parting shot to be a good knock absorber/pivot for offensive threats while also checking Krookodile-Infernal and being decent into Kingdra if it's choiced, which lightens the load off of your nidoqueen. Will-O-Wisp removed for being annoying reasons, Lunar Blessing chosen for both flavor and to effectively give you nerfed healing since it's unlikely you'll get statused anyways.

:ogerpon-wellspring:
Pokémon: Ogerpon-Wellspring (incompatible with Wellspring mask)
Type: Grass/Water
Base Stats: 90/110/90/100/95/115 [600 BST]
Ability: Pickpocket
(full movepool W.I.P)
- Will O Wisp, Poltergeist, Shadow Ball, Hex, Shadow Claw, Throat Chop, Knock Off, Shadow Sneak, Lash Out, Night Shade| Usually Useless Moves Lost
+ Ivy Cudgel (water), Spikes, Horn Leech, First Impression, Synthesis | Usually Useless Moves Gained

Role Justification: Better bulk, HL, and Spikes and a new type allow you to be answers to both Krookodile in the short term as well as Kingdra long term, as well as gain longevity in general, again placing less weight onto your Nidoqueen. Fimp also allows you to faint the latter two as well as opposing nidoqueen when chipped. However, Corviknight gives you a large amount of trouble and you dislike the presence of your original form which is both faster and stronger.

:kingdra: :duraludon:
Pokémon: Kingdra-Castling
Type: Steel/Dragon
Base Stats: 90/100/85/100/90/85 [550 BST]
Abilities: Wimp Out/Heatproof/Regenerator
(full movepool W.I.P)
- Aqua Jet, Flip Turn, Liquidation, Waterfall, Wave Crash, Surf, Scald, Hydro Pump, Disable, Weather Ball, Agility, Double Edge | Usually Useless Moves Lost
+ Flash Cannon, Doom Desire, Spin Out, Psyshock, Iron Defense, Body Press | Usually Useless Moves Gained

Role Justification: regenerator glue-mon which uses it's varied coverage, mixed stats, and decent type into the meta to act as a mixed(ish) wall that can cover many different roles on a team without being the standout option. flip turn removal keeps Regen a lot more in check while still letting you clear smog/ID. can use future sight and/or iron defense to mitigate this but usually is checked by nidoqueen and bisharp, and has to choose between being less threatened by them and walling Ogerpon or being a decent special wall into base Kingdra, Corv, and Krook. can also go offense with meteor spam or DD due to it's decent physical movepool.

:Corviknight: :Lokix:
Pokémon: Corviknight-Mothman
Type: Bug/Dark
Base Stats: 80/65/105/105/86/89 [530 BST]
Abilities: Wandering Spirit/Quick Feet/Tinted Lens
(full movepool W.I.P)
- Defog, Iron Defense, Body Press, Supercell Slam, Thunder, Thunderbolt | Usually Useless Moves Lost
+ Dark Pulse, Bug Buzz, Nasty Plot | Usually Useless Moves Gained

Role Justification: t lens breaker with wide coverage and decently powerful STABs recovery in roost + you retain Vswitch to be a decent pivot. Mostly meant to be out offensed than really walled, which encourages faster subs/more offensive subs and prio. Your breaking power is also checked partly by requiring boots. I expect a lot of fat mons to be subbed and probably to win, so this should work as an option to keep them in check.

:nidoqueen: :nidoking:
Pokémon: Nidoqueen-Butch
Type: Poison/Ground
Base Stats: 104/ 100 / 80 / 85 / 85 / 86 [540 BST]
Abilities: Poison Point/Prankster/Sheer Force
(full movepool W.I.P)
- Barb Barrage, Hex | Usually Useless Moves Lost
+ Teleport | Usually Useless Moves Gained

Role Justification: Every Queen needs a King... but seriously, Ground/Poison and this mon in general are already about as good as it would be in the meta + this is currently the hardest mon to justify a form change given you carry the metagame on your back as of rn so this form just does Nidoqueen-Classic stuff but just more offensively, preferring to check shit by killing them instead of just walling them. Teleport enables wish passing on prankster sets which can also be annoying with hazards and priority slack off, giving you similar utility to base but better on more offensive squads, balanced by the opportunity cost of losing SF + EP. Checks and counterplay are around the same as base, although you threaten your checks more in the short term at the exchange of being less effective against them long term.

- Air Slash, Body Press, Brave Bird, Discharge, Drill Peck, Hurricane, Roost, Supercell Slam, Wild Charge, Zap Cannon |
+ Calm Mind, Earth Power, Earthquake, Power Gem, Sandsear Storm, Scorching Sands, Stealth Rock | Dig, Sandstorm

Role Justification: its landorus. we love landorus. a little frailer than nidoqueen or definitely-not-drizzle-zapdos, but makes up for it with 3 incredible abilities. regen makes this an incredible defog, while prankster lets it be a screen setter.

Sorry I'm late to the party, let's give this a try.

:Bisharp: :Tinkaton:
Pokémon: Bisharp-Valkyrie
Type: Fighting/Fairy [Medium]
Base Stats: 75 / 130 / 120 / 45 / 75 / 75 [+5/-10/+5/-10/+5/+5] [Small]
Abilities: Mold Breaker / Steely Spirit / Defiant [Large]
Physical.png

Brick Break, Bullet Punch, Drain Punch, Facade, Focus Punch, Foul Play, Gigaton Hammer, Hammer Arm, Iron Head, Low Kick, Night Slash, Play Rough, Spirit Break, Superpower | Arm Thrust, Axe Kick, Bulldoze, Dig, Double Kick, Dynamic Punch, Feint, Fling, Force Palm, Giga Impact, Guillotine, Headbutt, Low Sweep, Metal Burst, Retaliate, Reversal, Rock Smash, SSlash, Take Down, Thief, Upper Hand
Special.png

Air Slash, Aura Sphere, Flash Cannon, Focus Blast, Steel Beam, Tera Blast | Dazzling Gleam, Final Gambit, Hyper Beam, Misty Explosion
Status.png

Bulk Up, Curse, Detect, Iron Defense, Protect, Rest, Sleep Talk, Stealth Rock, Substitute, Switcheroo, Swords Dance, Taunt, Thunder Wave | Armoatic Mist, Baby-Doll Eyes, Coaching, Endure, Fairy Lock, Leer, Mean Look, Metal Sound, Misty Terrain, Noble Roar, Scary Face, Torment, Wide Guard

Moves added: Gigaton Hammer, Play Rough, Spirit Break, Aura Sphere | Usually Useless Moves
Moves removed: Body Press, Poison Jab, Shadow Claw, X-Scissor, Air Slash, Grass Knot, Weather Ball | Usually Useless Moves

Role Justification: This should be a Pokemon that has the benefits of Bisharp but at the cost of not having the Steel typing defensively. Can still benefit from a fake Steel STAB thanks to Steely Spirit, boosting the damage of its Bullet Punch or Gigaton Hammer. It can run the classic Tinkaton set thanks to Mold Breaker Taunt, Thunder Wave or Stealth Rock ignoring Magic Bounce or other relevant abilities. Or finally it has Defiant which can always prove itself to be useful.

Moves added: Dragon Dance | Usually Useless Moves
Moves removed: Hone Claws, Rock Blast | Usually Useless Moves

Role Justification: This Mother of Dragons benefits from her Sheer Force-boosted Special moves, or can do decently on the physical side thanks to Dragon Dance. While Sheer Force may be the main set, having the power of Merciless + Toxic/Barb Barrage will also be an effective strategy available to it.

Role Justification: A form of Ogerpon looking a lot more like its classic counterpart, but if it had a baby with Deoxys-Speed. With Iron Barbs and a decent bulk it can either run very bulk or very fast. The only setup moves it has are Curse, which lower its excellent Speed, or Growth, which would only do well on designated Sun teams.

+ Knock Off, Power Whip, Leaf Blade, Bullet Seed, Grassy Glide, Seed Bomb, Leech Seed | Vine Whip, Branch Poke, Leafage, Mega Drain, Absorb, Grassy Terrain, Razor Leaf

Role Justification: Resident physically defensive guy with a decent spread of utility moves in Knock Off, Thunder Wave, and Stealth Rock, among others (not too dissimilar to Ferrothorn, without the Iron Barbs). Grass/Steel is a very competent defensive typing, which further backs up Bisharp's good all-around bulk, and 110 attack ensures that it's not a complete sitting duck. Setup options with Iron Defense + Body Press or Bulk Up might also exist as bulky wincons too, but are hampered by weak coverage pools. Suffers from a lack of instant, reliable, recovery, since Leech Seed's healing isn't instantaneous - this leaves it rather easily chipped down, which can put it in range to be KOed by guys it would otherwise check. None of its abilities are exceptional either (Bulletproof is strong but not great, and it's not that good at making use of Technician anymore), and its lacking special bulk makes it very exploitable on that front.

+ Overheat, Lava Plume, Heat Crash, Temper Flare, Will-o-Wisp, Power Gem, Meteor Beam, Flare Blitz, Stealth Rock | Ember, Fire Spin, Follow Me

Role Justification: Physically defensive tank that can also function as a pretty competent bulky attacker as well. Fire/Ground works wonders defensively, offering worthwhile resists in exchange for very little weaknesses, and 125/100 physical bulk with Flame Body lets it punish physical attackers with dastardly effectiveness. Has the ability to spread burns with Lava Plume, set up Spikes (or Stealth Rock) for its teammates, and can even pass Wishes to its teammates. It can even go on the offensive with Sheer Force and a very usable special attack stat (and not exactly the worst coverage around to boot!). However, it has no immediate form of recovery - Wish + Protect is fine but takes up two moveslots, rendering it very passive and stuck with a bad case of 4MSS, and its special bulk isn't the greatest thing around, leaving it open for special attackers to pick it off with little effort.

+ Aqua Cutter, Aqua Jet, Aqua Tail, Bulk Up, Ceaseless Edge, Hydro Pump, Liquidation, Superpower, Surf, Waterfall | Aqua Ring, Bubble Beam, Dive, Rain Dance, Water Gun, Water Pulse, Whirlpool

Role Justification: More or less a pretty competent midrange option. Movepool is surprisingly deep, with a bevy of options to pull from (Parting Shot, Encore, Taunt, Knock Off, Ceaseless Edge), and with a strong enough defensive typing, it can generally make the most out of them. Alternatively, if you so desire, Bulk Up variants exist and can serve as functional late-game wincons with powerful STABs and strong coverage options. That said, it's not especially fast, which might pose a pretty severe problem in the future (this in tandem with its rather weak special bulk means that it bricks into Corviknight and Ogerpon way too easily). In addition, while its attack stat is decent enough, none of its STABs are particularly strong (yes, even Knock Off), which means that even with Magic Guard + Life Orb to back it up, it can potentially fall short of certain KOes.

+ Draco Meteor, Dragon Claw, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Tail, Glare, Outrage, Rapid Spin, Spirit Break, Superpower, Wish | Breaking Swipe, Bulldoze, Confusion, Dragon Cheer, Dragon Rush

Role Justification: Yet another special wall... or is it? Fairy/Dragon is a pretty interesting typing that hasn't really been seen much (only on Mega Altaria, and even then only in Generations 6 and 7), and here it works pretty well. Despite primarily being intended as a special wall, it has quite a bit it can do, be it speed control with Glare, supporting its team with Wish and Spirit Break, or providing hazard removal in the form of Rapid Spin. Trace lets it snag an opponent's ability for itself and is significantly more immediate compared to its base's Wandering Spirit. Suffers from rather exploitable physical bulk leaving it open for the likes of Bisharp to pick it off, as well as a lack of reliable recovery, since Wish is fine, sure, but it can also be played around quite easily.

+ Coil, Earthquake, Glare, Gunk Shot, Poison Jab, Sludge Bomb, Recover, Toxic | Acid Spray, Poison Sting, Poison Tail, Sunny Day, Venoshock

Role Justification: Bulky sweeper that can double as a potential wincon in the lategame. Its stats don't seem exceptionally great at first, but 110/80/95 defenses are plenty usable, and Poison/Dragon carries some nice resists in the meta. Coil lets it make the most out of Gunk Shot and Dragon Rush as STABs, with Earthquake as strong coverage (or Knock Off for item manipulation) to back it up. Meanwhile, Regenerator and Recover ensure that it can stick around for a long time throughout a match, ensuring that it has plenty of setup opportunities throughout a game. However, it is extremely slow, being easily outpaced by the vast majority of the meta, and its typing can also fall short defensively in certain matchups.
