s/o Chloe for the awesome art!! :3

As PUPL reaches its climax in the intense finals between the Magmortars and the Kingpins, I want you (yes, YOU) to yap about your PUPL XI experience! Whether it be about built teams that won, lost, or unique sets that were created throughout the season, talk about it here; you can even include things that weren’t brought! Not to mention, LTWC is also nearing its end where we saw a lot of PU being played there, and we'll also be using this thread as an outlet for LTWC discussion!

Good luck to all finalists!

somehow no one has posted here yet so i can try to kick it off, i didn't build a whole lot of my teams this season (thanks umbry SEA) but will post the things that i did make and use (my memory is so dogshit that if i didnt build one of these i wouldnt be too surprised but ummmm i am pretty sure i did...LMAO)

not a very fancy structure, for pretty much a majority of my games this year i've been fine running rhydon balance slop city because it had been working. revival blessing pawmot + 2 wincons (technically 3 with rhydon i suppose) gives you some freedom mid game. there isn't anything really special to say about this team otherwise, what i'll mention is that the rotom spread underspeeds other rotom which i think is pretty important. and the super slow milo is so that you're slower than wo chien which makes it easier to pivot against that. as the weeks went on it became a little more apparent that running that is dangerous cause of shit like golurk...

this was the week where amoonguss was allowed mid week, and at this time i was hyperfixated on making amoonguss spike teams, like i had made a LOT of them. i just couldn't really get anything i liked because building amoonguss is kind of annoying sometimes idk. eventually i realized that this structure would be completely better if i just used something over amoonguss so i adapted it a little to focus on wo-chien instead which is how this team came about. since the start of the season wo-chien spikes had been theorized since they worked so well in rupl, unfortunately the issue lies in that wo-chien partners in ru are good pokemon while its partners in pu are not that great. this team felt pretty comfortable to use though so i feel pretty satisfied with it. sneasel-h and bruxish make for pretty decent speed control, with both being able to bust through a lot of slower teams if you position them well enough. eq slash is here because wo chien spreads knocks easily enough as is, and flipping the cm tera steel guno mu / kind of the salazzle mu is nice.

im not doing the silly pun

somewhat similar to a team i had seen in ltwc i believe - i hadn't used a single gbro the whole season, though i did try a good amount to make it work on a team i feel comfortable with. was mostly just me being finicky, because whatever move id drop id end up missing severely, and building with av always made me paranoid about getting owned by hazards. decided to give it a shot this week because if everyone is slapping it on their teams then i'm probably doing something wrong. kind of wacky by my standards, because i usually hate dropping rhydon, and i don't really use shit like av goodra that often. i think both ambi and cb zoro are very very good right now due to the lack of amazing physical punishes, cram is the Hazard Control, and av goodra is kind of a soft check to most special attackers which i felt like i needed since i wanted to have cm gbro as a proper wincon instead of designating it to be av. mudsdale is stone edge instead of roar because i really hate the idea of giving guno a free in and stopping my momentum partially. that being said if i had roar on mudsdale, or psyshock on gbro, or trick on zoroark (foul play is good af :v ) this game wouldve been a lot easier for me but i bungled it anyway oops.

and here are two ltwc teams i built that are definitely shit but i felt like fucking around in that tour in the builder anyway https://pokepast.es/6de2a38e8f365fc0 https://pokepast.es/7c90631b87b0a64e do not use the second one

Here are some Teams I built for the Delphoxes:

Band Boar Sub Hoopa

https://pokepast.es/b6739bfa1960d262
:Emboar: :Rhydon: :Cramorant: :Amoonguss: :Hoopa: :Bruxish:
Pretty cool cook. Essentially relies on Muscle Band Emboar with trailblaze to break the defensive backbones of teams. It seemed to synergise well with Sub Hoopa who is excellent into the abundant Amoonguss-Glowbro core. Magician also leads to some cool tech where you can end up stealing a scarf, boots etc. Other than that, it's a standard structure.

Guno Qwil Spikestack

https://pokepast.es/db4b8b6cfff32c77
:Amoonguss: :Qwilfish-Hisui: :Articuno-Galar: :Rhydon: :Houndstone: :Cramorant:
This was a pretty classic spikestack but proved very deadly. Use Houndstone to spinblock, Guno to prevent defog and Roar Rhydon to get your chip and phase. Pretty solid team into any structure!

Friendship Breaker Tox Spam

https://pokepast.es/25ad262500d5167f
:Goodra: :Decidueye-Hisui: :Dudunsparce: :Salazzle: :Bruxish: :Rotom-Heat:
The dreaded tox spam team. Toxic spam is pretty broken and easily abusable right now. This team lacks immunities, however, it has a strong defensive base in Goodra, Dudun, and defensive hecid and Rotom H. This team is actually very easy to pilot and can auto win a lot of matchups.

LO Pawmot NP Lazzle BO

https://pokepast.es/97589eb310c08150
:Salazzle: :Goodra: :Cramorant: :Mudsdale: :Rotom-Heat: :Pawmot:
Very solid team which relies on Pawmot and Salazzle to abuse passive backlines. Defensive Goodra is a cheat code with Toxic and Koff. Mudsdale has great longevity and overall the team just feels solid into any scenario.

Booster Spam BO

https://pokepast.es/7aa45008b82f7ad9
:Grimmsnarl: :Mudsdale: :Cramorant: :Rotom-Heat: :Articuno-Galar: :Florges:
This team works mainly on a psychological basis. Your opponent will need to play very accurately to stop the onslaught of boosters on the team. Bulk Up Grimm can go crazy if it gets enough momentum and every single mon on this team is dangerous.

Cloak Dudun SD Qwil

https://pokepast.es/d2fb0dae58916960
:Qwilfish-Hisui: :Dudunsparce-Three-Segment: :Goodra: :Mudsdale: :Venusaur: :Cramorant:
Here is another Bulky Offense which leans on people expecting more passive sets from Qwilfish Hisui and Dudun. Cloak Dudun can literally sit on half the tier if your opp doesn't play aggressively. Never losing the Triple Arrows flinch war, never getting moonblast drops, never getting poisoned by ssa is very, very strong. SD Qwil also knocks dents into the fattest of backlines and can set up vetry reliably with Intimidate. Finally, Scarf Venusaur is rare and often snags a free kill based on people expecting passivity.

I had a blast managing and building this PUPL. I hope people can have some fun with these teams!!!

Opening this post by saying I'd like mannat my record. It looks really fucking bad at first glance and I hate that but when you watch the games I genuinely play really well but I just did not have things go my way. It really really sucks, I put so much effort into this tour like it was a official and we didnt come out with a win (tbs sludgebomb 5am schedule gate...) nor did I come out with a good record. Like id excuse the outcome if it was a fine record or we won but my herculean efforts just feel insanely pointless now. I did have a lot of fun though, THE_CHUNGLER and skrimps are two people i did not know at all before this (i made fun of chunglers name pre tour) and honestly they are some of the most interactive managers ive had outside of officials. They genuinely made a effort to be present in every tier in the cord even ones they werent particularly knowledgeable of and did absolutely everything they could to make sure people were ready for games outside of the usual "yo hows prep". Also very important to the fun environment we had all tour when some managers kinda rely on the team to do that themselves esp outside of officials. They also kept glazing me even with my record so thats a plus, would team with again, thanks for having me and trusting me so much with general sv prep even if i wasnt building the slots considering im not known as a pu player. zS the loors somehow almost won... loved being able to team with a good friend without the pressure of managing this year and i hope the LOOR CITY COCKROACHES core can actually win something eventually we were so close. robjr you're a beast bro, if you werent so good at SM PU i think we wouldve flopped earlier. you being so good was very vital because it pushed people to perform at a higher level constantly + you got us out of sticky situations. avarice thanks for the carry in bw and tiebreaks alongside robbie, youre a really nice person and a good player in this lower tier oldgens but please learn to schedule it would make things so much easier.-. Metallica126 tour didnt really go how you wanted either but you actually collected wins and ive talked to you a lot about the tour over the weeks, shit happens, dont feel bad about the tb game at all you know nothing about the tier and youre the only person avail since most of us dedicated benchwarmers were asleep, thats high test energy. thanks for all the ideas through the weeks, you have some of coolest ideas and even if i personally had a stroke looking at what you were bringing I always came out with a new concept of something to use in the future. big tony 2014 canadian core sucked this time but only this time! thanks for helping me build and test as always. DD Joe didnt interact much since you joined in playoffs but appreciate you coming in and helping because on my own i mightve died irl lol. finally thanks Tenebricite Fragments for trusting my teams and advice so much after yall subbed in, i felt like i was winning through you two.

These are the people I mostly interacted with because I didnt travel much outside of general and sv but genuinely everybody was amazing to interact with I just dont have much to say because I wasnt involved in their games and didnt really watch most of them till playoffs ;-;. Wish we all couldve won together, i keep comparing the Roachpins to a official team but it genuinely felt like I was in a official with the amount of effort that every slot was putting in.

Okay here is teams

Theres some spreads with speed creeps and stuff that skrimps made that I liked but I forgot to put them where they were important so if you can find them feel free to like add them to whatever you want I just wish I remembered where they were so I could showcase them more ;-;

PUPL
This is everything I built that was actually used by myself or teammates. With all the following teams im dumping below, I did go through and slightly update some stuff if I felt like there was some changes that stood out at a first glance. I didnt go over absolutely everything im about to post with a fine comb and with a meta that has slight changes constantly like SV PU theres probably something im missing but these teams immediately below are going to be the teams that had the most of my attention. im not gonna sit here and explain everything like ive done in previous tours because I uh grinded too much, so im just assuming you dont need hand holding to understand my brain. I do wanna say despite the poor record, I do have utmost confidence in the quality of most of these teams. When it comes to PU, I enjoy building a lot and take a lot of care into the stuff I build, a lot of the losses here are too almost worst case scenario matchups outside of the week 3 team where it was decently even.

:cramorant::zoroark::ambipom::slowbro-galar::rhydon::decidueye-hisui:
https://pokepast.es/d4d94a72f3654a0a
Week 1 - Honestly I do regret bringing this, I kinda did not realize I needed two psychic resists with zoro since it wasnt a mon I used often ;/ but offensively was a lot of fun in testing

:mudsdale::bruxish::goodra::wo-chien::sandslash-alola::florges:
https://pokepast.es/26a339272f75f1a3
Week 2 - I knew pdt and mags in general liked these fatter teams so tried to target that. chungler had the idea of this muds set and I thought it was cool so tried to build around it and band brux. Goodra is acid spray because its just a fun move to click, can probably be another of its 80 options. unfortunately I did not consider pdt loading pu muk stall (lol) just could literally do nothing

:delphox::palossand::skuntank::hariyama::rotom-mow::milotic:
https://pokepast.es/2a66c239c051f026
Week 3 - Liked Hariyama and Delphox into bouffs scout so I built around those two, also thought this game was a good excuse to use rotom-mow which is a guy I dont use often. Honestly, this game annoyed me because I got pretty unlucky because I autowon if I didnt low roll but I made a blunder afterwards which mightve put me back in the game if I didnt miss the line like a dork.

:rhydon::slowbro-galar::sandslash-alola::florges::wo-chien::pawmot:
https://pokepast.es/146fb658050f2765
Week 4 - mind gaming was using this slowbro set and looked good in this game. not gonna lie this is the game im the most salty about because I played well but the trick room slowbro set i faced was so botted into this team which is otherwise pretty solid.

:tatsugiri::avalugg-hisui::decidueye-hisui::frosmoth::delphox::skuntank:
https://pokepast.es/a7abe2de878dc149
Week 5 - I thought sufys would be a good opp to offense and get a win back on. I was wrong and got a really poor mu that I cant really outplay of. Biggest blunder was bringing offense, which I really shouldnt have done but me and chungler kinda gaslit ourselves into thinking it would win this week easily.

:Passimian::sandslash-alola::venomoth::wo-chien::lanturn::mudsdale:
https://pokepast.es/7419faa64cc70019
Fragments vs Xiri - Honestly, my favorite team I built this season. Venomoth and Pass are fun and cool to use and the way the team is built is just super annoying to play versus in general. Personally, when looking at the venomoth teams that were used this season I'd say this is the best comp ive seen with it? at least my personal preference. Really happy this team won.

:orthworm::jolteon::sneasel::amoonguss::milotic::rhydon:
https://pokepast.es/5dbf84b8eb984fdf
Tenebricite vs Violet Ryan - Yes this is a offensive milo and I do not remember why we used it but probably something along the lines of amoong is good enough defensively, make milo the fog denier. This structure is mostly chunglers but I made a lot of changes + a mon change while keeping the identity of his original vision where its basically a duo effort.

:hariyama::rotom-heat::zoroark::hoopa::cramorant::mudsdale:
https://pokepast.es/754c3a6b6d8a8b67
Fragments vs Fish ANanannene - Chungler had the idea of AV Yama into fish + some of the recent stuff being used in the tour so I went with it. Honestly forgot most of the process here but they function well together. We used NP on Heattom in game and you can probably switch it back to it if you feel like it but we agreed after the game we should have used wisp since it was the safer option into rhydon and co.

:mabosstiff::magneton::uxie::salazzle::rhydon::milotic:
https://pokepast.es/5507e35e8194de97
Fragments vs 691 - Honestly, I got to whacky here and I feel bad. I probably shouldnt have passed fragments this type of team considering he couldnt test. squads like this have super specific lines into stuff like pawmot and while I personally feel some of the early game was messed up this wasnt the type of team I shouldve passed to begin with. I do think this is not bad but just a bit too silly given the circumstances. No, giving the Boss wasnt a throw. Genuinely think its underrated and functions better as a scarf dark better than zoroark in most cases.

:hoopa::decidueye-hisui::rhydon::florges::persian-alola::slowbro-galar:
https://pokepast.es/1467a98121226a90
Tenebricite vs Dunoks - Honestly was itching to prep agaisnt dunoks because hoopa + horn don was a idea I had to play against him since literally week 1 and tony didnt listen >:(. I feel very validated that the core I wanted from week 1 won in semis.

:jolteon::zoroark::florges::mudsdale::cramorant::slowbro-galar:
https://pokepast.es/f6b4f993cedf35da
Fragments vs Andyboy - SubCM Jolt looked very good into the scout so built around it. I was insanely confident in this team because everything just worked so well together down to the concept. Scarf Missy Offense is quite literally the worst possible matchup fragments couldve played here, especially because there was some last minute changes that I wasnt around to look at that made the mu worse. I reverted some of the changes in this paste and made zoro black glasses instead of band which should improve the offense matchup.

PUPL Unused
This is just stuff that went unused for whatever reason, whether it was a preliminary idea or something built for fun. Regardless, these might be sorta half baked but sharing because theres some fun ideas in here and there might be a diamond in the rough. Unlike the stuff above, the order of the teams here are going to be in the order they pop up in my builder (so most likely more recent first) and im like oh this is cool enough to post.

:sceptile::zoroark::rhydon::arcanine::cramorant::slowbro-galar:
https://pokepast.es/518ce72dd0d0b417
Sceptile is a mon I really came around to at the end of the season, wish I got more time to polish the idea.

:grimmsnarl::jolteon::rhydon::cramorant::decidueye-hisui::slowbro-galar:
https://pokepast.es/928528540ef24f98
preliminary version of the finals team but didnt really use it because of the uncertainy of hecid as a scarfer right now, defensively a bit weaker and the used version is more sound but does have its perks that seperate it.

Wild Charge k9 looked good into the mags before of their insanely high cram usage but we ditched the idea midish week so never fully fleshed this out.

:florges::salazzle::mudsdale::sandslash-alola::decidueye-hisui::Dudunsparce:
https://pokepast.es/9dfae659415dc24e
metallica had the idea of hex dun earlier in the season and tox lazzle looked okay into 691 but we ditched the idea because fragments isnt a fan of dundun as a mon

:slowbro-galar::tatsugiri::florges::pawmot::rhydon::orthworm:
https://pokepast.es/946b8cd120cac973
early version of the pawm bro team i used, the one I used is better but this has enough differences and benefits over the other one its worth sharing, i mostly was paranoid about no ghost resist so i decided agaisnt it

:whimsicott::bombirdier::jolteon::rhydon::milotic::sandslash-alola:

I wonder what week this was.... mostly just experimenting with different combos of mons and bait ideas. its offense these should all be useable and i just picked the one i ended up thinking was safest. lots of cool ideas here though like tr p2, sd tera blast brux, sd qwil etc...

:braviary-hisui::zoroark::jolteon::mudsdale::cramorant::slowbro-galar:
https://pokepast.es/addae16b38c3c2b3
not really sure when this was built again but I know i really wanted to use hrav but its just not consistent enough to trust, mons fun though if you can accept it either owning 30% of the time or dying instantly 70% of the time.

:espeon::arcanine::rotom-mow::palossand::milotic::skuntank:
https://pokepast.es/d0fa094d4407ce71
this was a version of the bouff team without the yama and with a espeon and k9. ill take this time to say espeon is a mon that i really wanted to use myself because its a insanely good progress maker but i just had such a hard time putting teams together where I didnt go "i think im more comfy using another variation of this"

:rhydon::persian-alola::venusaur::cramorant::espeon::arcanine:
https://pokepast.es/25ede1a540f4cb77
just a variant of a team metallica was playing around with that i edited heavily. seems cool but wasnt metallicas speed

unused variant of the vs pdt team that didnt have our silly offensive mudsdale.

:electrode-hisui::ambipom::rhydon::sandslash-alola::milotic::slowbro-galar:
https://pokepast.es/f0ebb22e6a592553
unused variant of the week 1 team, i pivoted mostly because I really liked the decidueye set i had lol. this eems okay when looking at it though just a bit offensive rhydon weak me thinks.

------------
Not PUPL but played in this and built for myself some months ago so figured id just tack this on to here since I didnt PU in LTWC. Stuff is a bit old so theres gonna be some outdated concepts/structures/evs that i missed when slightly updating but I did like some of these and prob fine if somebody goes over them more indepth for current meta. just gonna skim past these because it was such a long time ago now.

Week 1 - You know this team and im sorry. Tera Blast Grass K9 was a idea tony had that puts in a surprising amount of work

:cramorant::bombirdier::rhydon::shaymin::slowbro-galar::florges:
https://pokepast.es/9c1c70dc4692a82f
Week 2 - This use to have scrafty, scrafty was stolen from us shamelessly. Bomb is close enough I think. Honestly, I think this is still a fun shaymin structure if you wanna try shaymin.

:avalugg-hisui::sneasel::oricorio::decidueye-hisui::salazzle::farigiraf:
https://pokepast.es/77c6f24d7ab2f7b6
Week 3 - fun raf offense Kyuss helped me with (s/o raf) oricorio is pretty funny and the team helps annoy its checks pretty well. people have told me oricorio is shit but its defensive profile is actually insanely unique as a offense tool where I think it has some worth.

:rhydon::typhlosion-hisui::pawmot::sandslash-alola::milotic::dipplin:
https://pokepast.es/d5f28126789075ec https://pokepast.es/012343f7da0b8632
Week 5 - snake stack.... played drud this week, wanted to use dipplin. i used the cm version because it seemed fun, hyph kinda meh now but uniquely fits not bad on this team. got rolled by specs zoro bc i got turns wrong but overall team fun tm.

Week 6 - I just wanted to use a pretty generic stack comp with scarf pers bc terrain was insanely popular at the time. I used band bull but bull itself is not the best right now so I present a pawm version

ngl barely the same team I originally built but normal brav got stolen so I had to swap some things because the original version was ok. honestly, not sure what 4th should be on orthworm, sub was on the zu coil set but you can do stuff like tect maybe. fun exercise for those that want to try this.

team ive been gradually coping about after bans and stuff. think this was something i built during bd and have been just changing mons since. most recent addition is band persian which is something i stole from metallica!

Overall, I think I enjoy playing and building this tier. I like is how many different perspectives there is when it comes to building from person to person ngl. I can open pastes from other players and get new ideas from something they see as just another option (ex. never considered roar rhydon until i opened a dd joe paste). I think the tier is in a mostly good spot honestly but I will say I do think we did not make the right decision on the pawm suspect. I still think Pawmot is really restricting in builder and insanely low risk high reward when it comes to just being a breaker. When it comes to building you're pretty deadlocked to like mudsdale or rhydon + physbro (or physdef goodra now ig? though the sets a little not consistent) when it comes to your cores of good mons, and these arent even that reliable. Theres some situational options like amoong and palossand but these arent amazing mons and are also not amazing checks either. Pawmot can kinda muscle through pretty much everything defensively thats supposed to check it and a lot of teams have to over commit to teras to deal with it which I dont think is relatively indicative of a healthy mon. Sure ingame you have options like priority and hazards alongside your 3 mons designed to deal with it but why do we have to commit so many tools just to deal with something. Its annoy to prep for in builder and holds back some creativity in the tier especially from the breaker side of things since it kinda just does everything you need. I dont think its fair to say the tier wont have good breakers if it gets banned either because theres so many lesser explored options that have a more fair trade off while still being good, that are just inferior to pawm and the over-centralization around it isnt particularly kind to fitting them on team comps. Semi brief rant so particulars are left out but hopefully that makes sense. Also I dont see Slowbro as a bigger issue as pawmot atm, I think its just one of those defensive mons that are just really really good that tend to pop up in lower tiers as things currently stand and I wouldnt support a suspect. Uh heattom is another mon thats annoying in builder but ngl in game its just less good than how much of a headache you got prepping for it so im fence sitting that one. I do like PU though, its a nice break from my typical OU adventures, even with my poor record this tour I had a lot of fun.

To close out my PUPL essay I want to congratulate the Mags, I know I mightve sounded salty about particular things esp in finals tb but I know how much effort drud pdt and spitfire also put in from previously teaming with them and knowing them well. im salty from the circumstances of somethings not because I think theyre villains! I yapped a lot for a tour I kinda sucked in when i was playing and didnt even manage but this tour genuinely meant a lot to me and I spent way too much time in the sv channels despite how busy I am so it kinda felt like i was the secret third manager at times. ok i work in the morning and its 1am thanks for reading if you actually did.

I want win, i really want win, but when win desire too much, it make myself more pain than enjoy, idk i still can play what time, after SCL, my most focus will on real life and not build new team every week and tested full of the week, but if team have some problem need sub, i will going on and play again, even that tier not too familier for me.

I'm lazy to explain every team but some not common pokemon i will explain, ada emboar 2hko milo, best item is muscle band but zs want use av, sceptile fast almost everything and with tera have good corvage, snorlax is soild spdef wall and wincon, band sandaconda 2hko milo and lure wo-chien, these put my most effort, if SCL coming and i play PU, will build new again and again.
