Randbats Spotlight Tournament
Welcome to the fifteenth bimonthly Spotlight Tour! This iteration will feature the recently elected Hyperblitz Auto Choose format. This tournament is your chance to showcase your skills in Timeout Auto Choose Gen 9 Hyperblitz in a single elimination best-of-5 series.
What is Hyperblitz Auto Choose?
The bug that afflicted the timer in Blitz in the last month is now gone, but playing an even faster variant of this format would be quite exhilarating, wouldn't it? In Hyperblitz, you'll have only 10 seconds to pick a move, but fear not! Losing due to inactivity is made impossible by the "Timeout Auto Choose" rule, which makes the game automatically select the first move in your moveset once the timer hits 0. So yes, there is a scenario where you can actually win games by doing... absolutely nothing
Prizes
The winner of the Spotlight Tournament will receive the Room Prize Winner rank in the Random Battles room for a month and the possibility to pick a format for the next Randbats Spotlight poll!*
*Important: It's likely the next Spotlight poll will start before the end of this tournament, so the winner's pick is probably going to be delayed for a future cycle

Congratulations to all the players who have reached the asymmetrical top cut of the Hyperblitz Auto Choose Spotlight Tournament! 7 long weeks of hyperfast gaming led 12 players to reach this stage, but now all it takes is a few minutes to lose and leave the tournament for good. Who is going to go all the way through the finals and crown themselves as the champion of this spotlight format? Without futher ado, let's take a look at the bracket!
Since the Hyperblitz ladder should only last a tad more than 7 days, we also have decided that make a change: instead of waiting for all the matches of the same round to finish, as soon as a new matchup is made official, we'll ping the players so they can immediately start to schedule their game. This will likely lead to an asymmetry in the completion of the bracket but it's a preferable solution to speed up the tournament.
Outside of this small change, the rules and the structure of the tournament remain the same (which means that the series are still best of 5). As always, in case of doubt you can check the Smogon Tournament Rules and General Guidelines and contact the tour hosts, adorluigi, Ghostilex, July, Celever, Flights of Fantsy, meamPearl and 35Q71N here on Smogon.
