Welcome to the BW UU Resources thread! In here you will find a selection of resources put together to help players get involved in this amazing tier!

BW UU is the 4th official generation of UU. The main difference from previous generations is the change in how sleep works. Pokemon put to sleep in BW games will have their sleep counter reset if they switch out before waking up. This can be used to benefit Pokemon that run rest / sleep talk or can be a detriment to Pokemon that want to do big damage before switching out. The turn timer for sleep now also only lasts a maximum of 3 turns, with an equal chance to wake up on turn 1, 2, or 3 respectively. On top of the new Pokemon released for this generation, the Black and White games introduced Hidden Abilities to the game. This gave older Pokemon new edges to help them succeed, while also raising versatility for new Pokemon options. An example of this is the Nido duo gaining access to Sheer Force, which has made them a lot more aggressive and viable than in previous generations.

BW UU Viability Rankings

Welcome to the BW UU Viability Rankings!

Here, our goal is to sort every Pokemon with viability in BW UU into rankings that can distinguish them all based upon their specific value in the tier. The community and the Viability Ranking's council will work together to refine the rankings from time to time to make sure they are as accurate as possible. Being an oldgen, updates will happen infrequently, but we will work to keep ranks up to date for any developments that occur.

The S tier contains a select few metagame-defining Pokemon, the best of the best, and the A tiers reflect on the Pokemon which are extremely effective but flawed in some aspects. The B tier is slightly more expansive, with the B+ tier representing Pokemon that are fairly common and threatening but aren't as threatening or consistent as those in A-. The B and B- tiers represents Pokemon which can fill relevant holes in team building, despite having more weaknesses in the current meta. B- being more niche in these cases. The C tiers display Pokemon who fill value on specific team building Archetypes, but do not give much value beyond that. They also contain Pokemon who may be more niche or seen as usable, but are generally outclassed by more prominent Pokemon in the tier. Below the C tier, the generic D tier displays the rest of the Pokemon that are usable in UU, but don't have a niche that is appreciated by most UU teams.

All Pokemon are also ordered within each subrank, so the top Pokemon in A+ is considered "better" than the Pokemon below it. As we go into lower subranks, the differences become more and more negligible, so feel free to comment your opinion below on any of the rankings. Welcome to the BW UU Speedlist! This post is to create a quick-access list of all the Pokemon in the BW UU Metagame based on the Speed stats of their sets provided on showdown or through analysis.

Editors Note: I have adjusted certain Pokemon that would normally be grouped together into seperate cells for different speed benchmarks for the following reasons:

Keep accurate / easy to read records of certain sets that that invest specific EVs to reach these benchmarks
Show accurate speed adjustments for pokemon running hidden powers that require 30 IVs instead of 31 (Ex: Hidden-Power Fighting)
