Smogon's mascot, Koffing, has been spreading noxious gas around the NFE battlefield! Poison-types are a rare commodity aside from Ivysaur, Mareanie and opposing Koffing, making Toxic Spikes unbearable for unprepared teams since they primarily rely on Rapid Spin from Quaxwell for hazard removal or Hattrem for hazard detterent. Koffing's great typing and bulk with reliable recovery in Pain Split make it a great check against strong physically offensive attackers like Thwackey and Raboot. Thief is a great way to steal items after being knocked off by Tinkatuff, Ivysaur, and the aforementioned Thwackey. Will-O-Wisp sets strong breakers like Fraxure, Gabite, and Pilowswine ablaze, rendering them useless. Koffing really struggles into special attackers like Girafarig and Sliggoo-Hisui, making Tinkatuff and Dunsparce great teammates since they can take them on. Koffing can struggle into Ground-types like Gabite and Piloswine, so the likes of Quaxwell and Fletchinder are helpful to combat them.

Koffing's great typing and bulk with reliable recovery in Pain Split make it a great check against strong physically offensive attackers like Thwackey and Raboot. Thief is a great way to steal items after being knocked off by Tinkatuff, Ivysaur, and the aforementioned Thwackey. Will-O-Wisp sets strong breakers like Fraxure, Pawniard pawn is not that good, id mention smth like gabite instead, and Pilowswine ablaze, rendering them useless. Koffing really struggles into special attackers like Girafarig and Sliggoo-Hisui, making Tinkatuff and Servine servine doesnt really take them on all that well, mention a solid check like raboot maybe? great teammates since they can take them on. Koffing can struggle into Ground-types like Gabite and Piloswine, so the likes of Quaxwell and Dunsparce are helpful to combat them.
