Hello and welcome to the post-AGPL VII thread! As the tour has reached its conclusion, this thread has been released to give players, managers, and spectators to dump teams, make shoutouts, comment on metagame trends, and generally meme and poke a bit of fun. This post will also link week threads and some other important threads for easier navigation in the future.
SV AG teamdump! [BAD TEAMS USE IT AT UR OWN COST]
huge s/o SwasJKAdhilasombralegendaria for helping me out with building/testing. Overall I think my record was kinda bad sadly (3-1 but 2-2 if I didn’t luck the strap sorry)
Tocause scout had a shit ton of Excadrill HO with Scarf Calyrex-S, so I was thinking Landorus-T + Arceus for the first step.
Then I went through my builder and found out a team that I liked and made a few months ago. (Didn’t build much cuz I wasn’t at home til Saturday night or what as competition in Sydney)
I hoped to face LBN but I faced The Strap so I thought I was cooked, no point in extending the suffering so I offered to RFN
Had no ideas what to bring so brought smthing I like + was comfy with aka screens (sorry I should’ve lost that game :(
Remnonc said that he was waiting for teams when offered to rfn, so I was scouting for xinnobu mainly. Planned on using Axis 6, but it was fairly weak to Steel Kori, so swapped Ho-Oh out for Tera Steel Arceus, also a better mu into Calyrex-Ice or NDM.
I hate Jojen.
I prepped a shit ton for him, made over 20+ teams, lastly came down to Screens as I just wanted to have a good mu into BOs. I thought of bringing the exact same team he brought facing me a few months ago in AG Open. Used !pick in AG chat to chose team and it came back to bite me. Choked really hard with the Hatterene and Miri by not CM-ing and lost to him sadly.
Lastly, thanks swas & tdr for buying me even though it’s my first tour ever and im a fairly new player and Murphy lawden and wildfiree for managing this tour.

Haven't done full team tour shoutouts in a while but I think this warrants it. Loti and I have been running spheals since 2022, with finals tiebreak coming that year then 2 years of pretty poor showings for what we're capable of since sv came out. This was for me the best I've felt when prepping sv, having built all of mashing's teams and some of the bo1 slots here and there I was way more confident now than in the past and I think that's really important for sv since the meta is always being pushed even if just slightly since it gets the most plays. I believed from start to finish that our team was the best this tournament and I'm really glad we could make it happen, this is my first AG team tour win despite quite a few finals so it's nice to get one. I'll just be doing shoutouts in draft order
lotiasite - Couldn't have done this without you, we kept this going from both of us getting promoted then past retiring in AG and finally got it done. I'm not sure if I'd still be doing this tour every year especially with this amount of effort otherwise, so I'm glad we made this franchise and got it to a win this time. Every week I had full faith you could win and that takes a lot off me prep wise, this one was entirely deserved.
MZ - I know this probably didn't feel like the best tour ever for you but I'm still glad we could take it to the win. No matter the record I still believed you could get a win every week and still think you're one of the best oras players out there, sometimes things just happen and don't go your way. Hope to see you in more tours and you return to the form I know you have.
Fardin - I know I clowned you a lot especially after your finals game but genuinely I don't think we could have won this tournament without you. I dropped a lot of money in auction because I believed in your abilities in AG, and you put up a good record while also entirely carrying my own sm games in bo3 which helped me focus my effort in sv a lot more and got me probably more wins than I could have alone. Finally we didn't lose a finals together, good work.
Mashing - We flopped in agwl but I knew in auction that I didn't want anyone else to be our bo3 slot. Your play was always clean and your prep was always non existent, but the record was what we needed and you clutched the final game of finals to secure us the win. The undefeated AG lives on.
Nashrock - I kinda threw you into sv to start the tour without much practice so that was my bad LOL but I genuinely think you're a strong player and this small sample size isn't much, if you keep playing AG I think you can do well. Regardless I appreciate your effort and am glad we could win it.
xinnobu - I was very impressed with your ability in UPL so I thought you'd do well here also, and I'm glad I was right in thinking that. Your prep is strong and you put in great effort every week to keep our sv core up there which is super important for this tour. Hope you keep farming and it keeps being year of xinnobu.
pokenerddude - I have no idea how we got you for so cheap this year you're genuinely cracked, 5-1 record and a ton of prep every week. You helped carry this team with a guaranteed win almost every week, and are clearly one of the best sm players rn. Thanks for all the effort and of course the wins every week.
feen - Had to win this to keep our win rate high, we just have to forget UPL. You didn't play but I kinda didn't expect you to, I just wanted someone who's playing ability I could rely on to be on the bench and I knew if I needed it you could help out. You said you were willing to sub w1 in oras but just trust me and be glad you didn't have to LOL, glad we could win this tour.
Remnonc - My other sv carry who I was impressed by in UPL, I didn't expect to get you for so cheap and so late in the auction but your prep calls were usually quite strong and you played well. Hope to see you around more in AG since I think you can start doing a lot better, congrats on your first team tour win you'll have many more in the future.
l'habitat - Glad to see you back to the scene after a while, I still remember you being the early meta SS ubers goat when I was first joining the site. Thanks for the help you gave in sm and stepping up to sub in week 1 when we needed it, hope to see you stick around more in tours from now.
WillSeldannaMirrorSaMaNevelle thank you as well for joining our server and helping out / just chatting at different points of the tournament, means a lot to have people willing to help the team out even without playing.
Also shoutouts to cromagnet and Shivam3299, you two were some of the first people I interacted with in AG back in AGPL 2 when I was just a helper and when we teamed in AGTT that year as well, if I didn't start off meeting such nice people in the community I don't know if I'd even be playing this many years later. Couldn't officially get a win with the sableyes but finally got mine 5 years later, you're both goats.
Wow, finally winning this tour feels good. ever since the first time Fc and i managed the Spheal Ordeal in 2022 and came so close to the ring that year, we've been trying to win this. 3 years later and we did it. our team put up a pretty dominant performance, not losing a single week for 1st seed. i will never forget that finals comeback from 0-3 to 5-3 to seal it. waking up at 6am to play and win my game, then going to work and having the games open on the side and just praying that every turn went well for us. honestly i couldn't have asked for a better squad to win this with, the amount of prep, effort, and good vibes in the server were just amazing and i know that's what helped us win in the end. ever since the draft, i knew we were the strongest team and all we had to do was prove it. individual shoutouts will be below.
happy with the 5-1 record as well, ive been putting up good records in AGPL for years now but it feels good to finally have it sealed with the ring, especially with a win in finals. there wasn't really anything special about my games, so im just gonna talk about a few new things that i used. if you want any of the teams that i used, feel free to reach out and i can give you the paste.

lord knows i haven't built a new team in SS ag in years, i reuse the same ~6 teams in every tour unless i feel like building for a strong opponent. in this tour i wanted to try a bit more and actually weaponise my tendency to reuse without changing anything. my scout is generally very telegraphed because i only have 1 or 2 versions of a given 6 mons, and one example of that is this team:
ive used this LO ndm + coil zyg + ditto balance many, many times in previous AG tours, so i knew that i could change the sets and not rouse suspicion when using this team. i originally wanted to make an LO zyg version of this team and i'm obviously very known for using LO zyg, so i also got the idea to add Substitute to it and use screens on etern + ndm to allow it to set up a lot more easily. i didn't get to click reflect in this game but light screen + sub zyg has some very useful synergy - as you can see in the game, kyogre scald couldn't break zyg-complete's sub behind light screen and so i could 2hko it and win the game. it also just helps generally while sweeping to make zyg even harder to kill. reflect can be useful against opposing yve foul/knock, zac bblade, hooh brave bird, and groudon pblades. overall it can be sort of hard to use but very rewarding if done correctly.
nothing crazy here, i stole this idea from SV ubers where twave + 3a kyogre is pretty common. you don't normally see these sets drop calm mind in this tier and so you can catch people off guard with more coverage. the expert belt is necessary to 2hko etern, though you can also run leftovers and rely on rocks or para luck to beat etern. the idea is the same as in SV ubers, just twave the etern on the switch and then come back in later to 2hko it, dont 1v1 it on the spot. that way you can completely save your kyogre and use it to break later without losing any HP. the ogre did a ton of work in this game, able to twave etern and kill it, doing 60 to yve and killing ogre at the end. this set works best with zac so you can take advantage of rain, twaved etern, and ndm.
SS ag is in a pretty good state right now. it usually rewards the better player and has good opportunities both in the builder and in game to show your knowledge. there isnt much point building anything new in this tier though, just tinker with sets for known 6s and you will usually have a good mu if you've scouted your opponent well. i will probably keep playing ss in tours to come, i just find it fun but also quite flexible and not too stale.

Fc - co cap, we finally did it. ur probably one of my best friends on this site atp, crazy how long we've known each other, and ive watched you improve a ton to be the player you are now. ur the best multigen bo3 player and u could've easily gone 6-0 if not for a bit of luck, and it was always nice to have the confidence that you would win going into every week. we've been through a lot with the spheals in the last 4 years but i just want to say thanks for always putting in the effort to build sv when god knows i have no idea whats going on there. helping our 3 slots while also doing your own is no small feat and we had a really good sv record cuz of that. ur a key part of *** and that's probably the only reason ive been around trying to win this for so long. now go win SMPL with ur summerchus
Fardin ur bad and i shit on u a lot but it was cool to see how good u r when u actually try. the heart of ***, it's always fun to talk to ur ragebaiting ass. between me u and Fc i knew we would be going into every week basically 3-0. the insights behind ur prep is always interesting and you helped Fc a lot with sm as well. enjoy the AGPL win again and the custom and i will see you back on the OLT ladder. Mashing undefeated AG u truly are the cheat code. very deserved 5-1 record in the insanely volatile slot that is bo3 SV. i knew getting molders in chat with Fc's support would be a success and i was really confident that you would win every week, including clinching the final game. i didnt know who u were when you first joined *** but ur genuinely insane and funny af, and im glad youve stuck around so long
pokenerddude the next skarph. i knew you were gonna be a good pick ever since i saw you with the Ivory impalers in AGPL 2023. when i tested with you in w1 and u whacked me like 5 games in a row, i knew you would be one of our most reliable slots. ur insane at SM and your knowledge of the tier is really deep. best part is your prep and activity, u were extremely self sufficient and backed it up with great teams and great playing. u were even helping out xinnobu and rem in SV which i thought was amazing. ur extremely underrated but i genuinely believe ur a top 3 sm player and your 5-1 record in a strong pool speaks for itself. hope u keep playing and looking forward to teaming with u in the future
xinnobu year of xinnobu, the lynchpin of our chinese inquisition strategy. Fc spoke highly of u during the draft and he wanted someone to help with sv building, and you definitely did that and more. beating Strapsolo twice including in the finals was a real highlight, especially with how well u played them. i hope u stick around for ag tours, ur really good and a strong asset to any team for sure. your art is also sick and i hope our custom can be half as good as that sketch u did
Remnonc loved how supportive u were and how much u contributed to the team's energy. you helped a ton with sv including with key wins of your own and ur motivation to build and test a lot were really appreciated. similarly hope to see u in ag tours more, you'll do great
MZ not ur best season with some bad mus and worse luck, but we trusted in ur oras for a reason. you'll be back and im glad we got to win this together
