Elekid @ Eviolite
Ability: Vital Spirit
Level: 5
Tera Type: Psychic
EVs: 12 Atk / 236 SpA / 236 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Volt Switch
Thanks to the highest Speed in the tier bar Choice Scarf users, an extremely wide coverage pool, and solid Special Attack, Elekid is one of LC's most reliable pivots. Psychic super effectively hits Fighting- and Poison-types, most notably Mienfoo, Foongus, and Glimmet. Focus Blast rounds out Elekid's coverage, nailing Alolan Sandshrew while also being its strongest option versus Ground-types like Mudbray and Alolan Diglett. Volt Switch allows Elekid to pivot out of poor matchups against the likes of healthy Foongus and Chespin and bring in frailer allies like Wingull in safely. Tera Psychic lets Elekid OHKO Mienfoo after Stealth Rock, as well as having small defensive benefits against Choice Scarf Gothita attempting to revenge kill it, at the major cost of being weak to Sucker Punch from the likes of Stunky and Alolan Diglett. Elekid struggles with bulky special walls such as Chinchou and Tinkatink, so teammates that can reliably deal with these two such as Foongus and Stunky can be helpful. Even with Eviolite, Elekid is still relatively frail, so it enjoys having slower pivots like Vullaby and Mienfoo to allow it to come in safely; it also forms VoltTurn cores with these two.
