thanks to everyone for their support especially my SV crew and my fellow managers but everyone on the mags who make it a fun place to be. The passion everyone brings to the games and forcing ourselves to get excited over a 3 month long PUPL teamtour is not easy, but it wouldn't be possible with any other team. I love you Mags, this is for you.

Pretty disappointing to have opponent go for substitute instead of reschedule after catering to their availability, but that’s smogon I guess. Thank you skrimps for building all my non tiebreak squads when I’d play early in the week, can’t complain about 10-1. Apologies to the rest of my team.

Every year I look forward to three tours in particular - MPL, WCOP and PUPL (shame that they all happen at the same time). The vibes were kinda not it this year in our MPL team despite retaining the same core, so that left me dissatisfied. WCOP ended in a heartbreak, I was personally feeling very good about my play but misfortune coupled with us not executing our gameplans perfectly meant that we got bounced out in quarters for the second year in a row. Despite being bummed by that, I made peace with the situation given I knew deep down that the whole team tried their best this time, and that there were still things that we needed to do if we wanted to go all the way. As mentioned earlier, these tours were happening in parallel, so after I was out of both I really really wanted to win PUPL. We werent doing particularly well in the tour at that point but the vibes were there, every week the villain mags were bonding together as to how we were still being predicted against and the likes. Everyone was putting in effort, and we were having fun doing so. There was also always some entertaining shit happening each week - the act call, the u-turn last resort incident etc. which made the atmosphere even more addictive. The turning point was definitely pdt crashing out in announcements mid week6, when we were down 0-5 in a must win week. We went on to comeback to tie the week and thats when I think we all started truly believing that we had what it takes to go all the way.

Everyone had their own moments where they pulled their weight for the team. Despite throwing him to the wolves all season, mielke got us a much needed early win in semis. Neomon was the team punching bag for the entire tour and his presence was enough to lighten the mood in any situation. KT's final game has G6 miami bron shaking. Andy and Skarph were so easy to work with and brought important wins (and vibes!!). The Huzz showed up and was reliable when it was crunchtime. Flampoke and Drew didnt mind putting their foot down and did whatever the team needed always. Plznostep, LpZ, DD Joe, and many others helped us at different points of the season in one way or the other, for which Im very grateful. Akir in particular carried our ass once again in bw (our record is not testament to this, if we listened to him fully we'd have fetched atleast 3 more wins). Franchise legends Gawain and Baitwiz were really involved all throughout and helped wherever they could. kyuss, you were the unseen engine that always kept us moving. It was always so fun to just pop in and see what concoction you were cooking up (and you were damn good at it too). Forever undebted to the absolute carryjob that Many put in all season - he was the method to KT's madness, he was the calm amidst the SM storm. No amount of praise can do justice to how integral he was to our team. Im convinced that pdt needs the added pressure of being the deciding game, because he ends up turning into a different beast everytime. Other than saving our season (twice), you were the biggest reason as to why our morale was always high. Drud, my brother, im so glad that we were able to get the monkey off our back from that TB 3 years ago and personally help our team cross the line (despite my constant efforts to sabotage your SS prep). The day we stopped playing retro rewind was when we got back to winning ways. Im SO happy that the 4 of us can proudly proclaim to be the winningest pu franchise oat, though you in particular still deserve to be shot for not telling me until very recently about your pet cat.

I love the Mags. Probably my favourite team to be a part of, with people Im very lucky to call my best friends. You're the best. Winning with all of you makes me genuinely so happy. Will be difficult to match this feeling, and Im grateful that I get to experience it, so thank you everyone.
Mags Forever~!

Test

Shoutout Akir and Drud for teams and tests, i was definetly going 0-9 without you two

Shoutout pdt and dj spitfire for the advice and the encouragement

Shoutout to every mag that every picked on me, it was worth it (edit) and i deserved it

And shoutout to the mags culture, it was a pleasure

I think that tour went on for the maximum amount of weeks possible outside of a diff tie in the normal season (is that even a thing?), regardless I want to thank my managers as well as the PU community for allowing me to take part in your tier. Some shout outs just because it would feel disingenuous otherwise.

ManOfMany I have to thank you foremost for dealing with my constant autism when it comes to refusing to use standard builds. Your wealth of knowledge allowed me to go from my rocky start to one of the best oras records this pupl. Very few people are willing to humor my ideas.

Dj Breloominati♬ Ill call this even for uupl but you'll still get a passing middle finger when we see each other in future team chats.

pdt it was an experience watching you speedrun every generic brain rot phone game, I was half expecting the raid shadow legends advert at some point

TSR im sorry things haven't gone your way in recent times but you had an impact in a lot of my building and understanding of the oras PU meta and ways I could fix my team.

Thisbemyalt similarly ty for noticing my painfully obvious teambuilder mistakes in our Minecraft sessions.

neomon especially thank you for being the teams punching bag so I could troll the oras slot without incurring the wrath of pdt spamming his cursed HOs in my channel.

PUPL is my favorite tournament here on smogon, not just because i love all of the pu tiers in it (except adv), but because of those people i play with every year. The core group of mags is my favorite group of people on smogon. We aren't just a ordinary team, we are a group of friends who have defied the odds in so many times now, and i could not be more grateful for my fellow mags brothers. It's funny to me that this year I had my best individual pupl season yet, in bo3 of all tiers, despite being a "dpp one trick". But i couldnt have won this tournament or have done anything else in pupl without my great teammates,

I don't really know what made this year so special for me, but out of all 3 PUPLs i have now won, this was the one of the 3 that i wanted to win the most. This tour wasn't always fun for me, it wasn't a complete secret that i was a little annoyed at the start of the tour, when we lost the first two weeks. later in regular season, it was still dire, pdt threw in the towel right before we came back from 0-5 to 5-5. in playoffs too there were plenty of points where it was looking completely dire for us, don't get me started how i felt about us starting 1-4 in finals. it was a very bumpy road, that became a slow, agonizing grind. But maybe that's what made me want to win it, every week that the tour prolonged, i kept getting more motivated as it would be even bigger waste to not win after all that time put in. every week i devoted myself to working even harder to win than the week prior, and i'm lucky to say that i wasn't the only one on my team that did. I couldnt have won this tournament or have done anything else in previous pupls without my great teammates, so i want to do some shoutouts:

pdt: The OG. The only player other than me that has been fielded for the mags in all 5 seasons. We've been through a lot together, all through the (mostly) good and bad. Ever since you beat me in PUWC 2021 when you beat me, I knew I really wanted you when I was managing my first PUPL half a year later. I traded for you during the auction and the rest is history. There's literally no replacing you when it comes to PUPL and i'm so glad you stuck around for another year, the energy you bring to our team, the speeches, the support, everything. You never have the best record, but you're definitely one of the best players on this and in this tournament. No matter how good or bad your record is, there's no one I have more faith in than you. You're a really inspiring and great person and honestly i dont know where the mags would be without you. It sucked that we had to use you as a bandaid for our SM slot when you were doing well in SV, but hey, I had to put myself in the BW mines halfway through last year, so we all have to make sacrifices sometimes. My name in the mags server will always ring true. Despite kyuss' insane record I was so confident in putting you into tiebreak when I heard you were motivated, to the point where you had me defending the pick against randoms in PU cord when they questioned it, and man did you deliver. I hope I made you proud in Bo3 this year, love you brother.

Dj Breloominati♬: My birthday twin. You might have the best record on the team but honestly, you're the person on the team I can come up with the most negative things to say about. Half your messages are unfunny jokes about me and the other half is you sabotaging my SS prep every week, including lying about when you'll pass me a team just for it to be 5 minutes before my set anyway. But i don't really care about all that, you're an amazing player and an even better friend. I know how much time you sank into this tour and how much you wanted to win, and it all paid off in the end. All of these insane things happened this season and somehow the most insane of them all was that 26k for you wasn't a overpay

ManOfMany: The nicest person on the team. It's legitimately insane that we won the 2 years that you weren't officially on the roster, but you deserve the credit so much. Along with pdt you're the only other person that's been there since the very start, and every year you do an amazing job of building oras and helping with the other gens, with this year you also helping me a lot in bo3. it's a pretty thankless job to just support a whole season like that without an official spot on the team, but you do it regardless, putting in so much time. I hope i stressed it enough this season that you're one of the most important members on our team, and it will stay that way regardless of how long you're staying on the mags

BeatsBlack: Ever since you started helping me with my prep at the tail end of PUPL 2022, i think we've made for an amazing duo in any given DPP lower tier. In a niche tier like DPP PU, when our timezones and schedules didn't always align, you would always play a million tests if i requested it, would discuss anything prep related, made your own teams. Maybe it didn't really show as much in your prep or your record this year but I knew you wanted to win this tournament as much as anyone, as shown by the fact you even gave me SM tests the last week. That work you put in the past few years means way more to me than any 1 given record, and you are one of the most deserving of a PUPL title on this team in my opinion. Despite you ignoring about 70% of my dms and only responding when you're driving, i value you greatly as one of my best mons friends. Although 90% of your messages outside of the dpp channel are either just dumb, bad ragebait or both, you approach DPP tiers and your play in them in a very intelligent way that always gives me full confidence in you regardless of what else happened in the tour, though it will take 1000 more years of training if you want to surpass my DPP legacy. Congratulations on your well deserved PUPL bro

Akir: Another longterm Mag, you always build amazing stuff for my teams, whether it be in PUPL or BWPL. The passion you have for BW PU is inspiring and you're also just a great guy. Having neomon as our BW starter was the biggest disservice i think i could've done to you, but hey, we still won the tour. I hope you still had fun this season sticking around with the Mags and I hope to still see you around in PU for more years to come. Just like Many, it is a thankless job, but I hope you know how much we value you

kyuss: The steal of the draft. You are such a fun, motivated and creative player and builder it's actually insane. It was a joy to see what heat you came up this time everytime you dropped a new pokepaste in the teamchat. I'm glad you bought into the team culture and the tiebreak speech you did was hilarious. Don't let your finals game anywhere near the memories you made from this tour, we only got so far because of your performances and clutch tiebreak win in semis. Although your teams didn't work out for the games I used them in, I really think you're great at building. Enjoy this win and keep up the great work

neomon: One of my longest standing friends on Smogon. We knew going into the draft we were gonna get a super cheap bw and just kind of have that slot coast with hopefully a decent enough record. Me and spitfire discussed buying you beforehand and when we got to your nom, you got upbid to 4k. I told spitfire: "This is a overpay already, lets just get someone else" but he insisted. That was both a great and awful decision by him, great because you definitely increased our team morale and you're a really fun person to have on the team and to talk to, and bad because of your 2-7 record. I'm not really pressed about your record though, even though we gave you at least 5 100-0 matchups. What i found really awesome is that you kept trying your ass off and practicing a lot every week even when your record was one that would demoralise most players. You kept trying and putting the work in and I honestly really respect and appreciate that, congrats on the tour win.

Killintime: Never have I seen someone complain this much about someone about the tier they're playing in, and yet, after a 0-2 start to your season, you locked tf in and ended up 5-4, with your finals game being possibly my favorite of the whole season. Maybe we weren't who you wanted or expected to be bought by, but I hope you're fine with it now. I could tell that despitle all the complaining, you did secretly care about winning the tour, with you even testing SM with me during the last week. Thanks for it all and thanks for being a easy person to make jokes about when i was doing a speech

Skarpherim: We didn't really talk that much during this season, but man, you're insane at this game. Outside of a certain Ambipom incident you always showed up with good plays and carried especially the early weeks hard for us. That game vs Tuthur is also one of the funniest things i've seen all season. IDK if you're gonna play more PU, but i would happy to see you do so.

Andyboy: Our SV supersub, pdt's recommendation and also his replacement when we sent him to the SM mines. Despite also initially not being the most familiar with the tier, you practiced a lot and that paid off. We both were sad during the kyuss finals game vc, but we both vowed to win our own games and here we are now. Great job this season, and you're also a really nice teammate that I would love to team up with more in the future

mielke: It's tough being the ADV player on our team, none of our core members really play it and it's also common in similar tours for the ADV slot to be pretty isolated from the rest of the team. So I apologize on our behalf for not really being too involved. Our ADV record wasn't the best but you got a very clutch win for us in semis which we wouldn't have won the tour without, and you were always cheering on your teammates which was awesome to see

FlamPoke: I wanted to buy you as a SV cook and someone that could sub in there if needed, but honestly, our SV was so cracked that we didn't really ending up needing you. I'm also someone who does scouts every week already, so both of those factors kind of put you out of a job. You still pulled through and made yourself useful when the time called for it, whether it'd be posting scouts, testing SV with me during the early weeks or sacrificing yourself in the ADV mines for a bit. And most important of all, buying you was the best way i could think of to ragebait zause

AJ: Not your most active tournament, but we already talked about that. Life happens. It's okay. You will always be a legend of the team, with your infamous 5-0 record when we won 2 years ago. When it's time for finals you did your best to help out and was always still cheering on your teammates, and I still value and respect

BaitWiz: Possibly Probably the worst player in the Magscord, but one of the most willing people to help me test Bo3 in and out every week, when no one else wanted to. You're a really hard worker, even without a roster spot, and I value your contributions to the general team vibe. Thank you

BlackKnight_Gawain: Sorry we didn't get you this year, but you were still helping out with multiple slots, so thanks a lot for that. I did notice that you didn't test with me this year, i'm sorry if the SMPL thing made you hate me

everyone else in our discord that still stuck around to cheer on the team or came in as a helper TWiTT, Jett, plznostep, Xrn, Monai, LpZ: No matter how big or small your contribution was, thanks a lot for sticking around and cheering on the team or helping with playoff prep. Similar case to anyone not on our team or in the server that helped me with bo3 tests, i appreciate it a lot.
