We are so back... this time with a Ground-type that doesn't see much use compared to the almost omnipresent Primal Groudon and Zygarde... it's Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground!

:sv/arceus-ground:
Arceus-Ground @ Groundium Z / Earth Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 72 HP / 252 Atk / 60 Def / 124 Spe
Tera Type: Ground
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Recover / Taunt

Although it has much less use than it did near the start of the generation, mostly because of the dominance of Arceus-Dark and Extreme Killer Arceus, Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground still remains a powerful wallbreaker and sweeper, especially with the drop in usage of Giratina-O + Alomomola structures that would otherwise beat it. How will you build around it? Deadline is Monday 28th July.

pogre webs

Hello chat I dont feel like going into depth today but look its kyogre you smack shit with it and you heal it with groundceus healing wish and then you slap shit with the kyogre again and then you do webs so the kyogre is fast wow incredible and then ndm is also kinda bulky so it benefits from healing wish too and zacian and yveltal cuz theyre broken

Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground Offense :arceus-ground: :kingambit: :groudon-primal: :giratina-origin: :zacian-crowned: :necrozma-ultra:

I posted this in #ndot-discussion of the NDOU discord server and everyone made fun of me. Anyways, Kingambit is a funny partner since it appreciates Arceus-Ground luring in Giratina-O for it, while Kingambit also beats Yveltal, Ultra Necrozma, and Lunala for this team. Primal Groudon serves as my main Zacian-C check since Arceus-Ground is very inconsistent at doing that, while Giratina-O serves as hazard control and a Primal Groudon check. It also soft checks Primal Kyogre to an extent. Zacian-C gives me speed control and a secondary wincon, while Ultra Necrozma provides hazards to this team, and acts as a secondary way of pressuring Coil Zygarde.

edit: groundceus spread outspeeds yvel, avoids ohko from +1 tera dragon etern dmax cannon after rocks, and avoids 2hko from offensive hooh bbird

Next Pokemon is... Defensive Primal Kyogre!

:sv/kyogre-primal:

Kyogre @ Blue Orb
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 248 HP / 236 Def / 24 SpD
IVs: 0 Atk
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Rest

Primal Kyogre almost guarantees progress in this tier, whether it be against hyper offense or against stall, because of its superb trading ability thanks to the bulk investment. How will you build around the king of the ocean? Deadline is Thursday 6th August.

Love Wins
:gothitelle: :arceus-rock: :yveltal: :groudon-primal: :kyogre-primal: :ho-oh:
This team gets its name from the core I used to make the team, that being Gothitelle, Arceus-Rock, and Yveltal, or GAY for short.
This team- Hold on, I have to take this.

Hello? Yeah, Gothitelle traps Pokemon like Zygarde, Ultra Necrozma, and Ho-Oh. What does it contribute to this team? Well uh...

Flyspam Wins
:arceus-rock: :yveltal: :groudon-primal: :kyogre-primal: :ho-oh: :salamence-mega:
This team is actually the one I brought to the Pentathalon. How did the titular Kyogre perform there? well uh...

I was told Arceus-Rock is a Pokemon people don't prepare for, and apparently that's correct. As a blanket check to a bunch of difficult things, its pretty useful, and frees up the rest of the team. Yveltal is a revenge killer and panic button for webs, Ho-Oh is a standard defogger, and mmence is for general offense with some solid fat. Kyogre is here because it can switch into other Kyogres, answers Meteor Beam Eternatus, and can handle Groudon, along with other things. Generally, I think it's quite underrated, as it answers a whole bunch of headaches.

And the (delayed) winner is... "Flyspam Wins" :arceus-rock: :yveltal: :groudon-primal: :kyogre-primal: :ho-oh: :salamence-mega: By Cancel Cult

Next Pokemon is.... Mega Mewtwo Y
:sv/mewtwo-mega-y:

Mewtwo-Mega-Y @ Mewtwonite Y
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 88 Def / 204 SpA / 216 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Psystrike
- Focus Blast / Fire Blast
- Ice Beam / Substitute / Fire Blast

From being an A- ranked Pokemon at the start of the generation, to falling all the way to C+ and potentially lower, Mega Mewtwo Y (and, I guess, Palkia-O) has had what is probably the most dramatic tiering history within the tier. Regardless, its outstanding special attack stat combined with outspeeding key targets such as Eternatus and Chien Pao still makes it one of the tier's most deadly wallbreakers, even if it overlaps quite a bit with Ultra Necrozma and Lunala on most hyper offense builds. Can you fix the "most powerful Pokemon of all time?" Deadline is Friday, 22nd August.

Mega Mewtwo Y Bulky Offense :mewtwo-mega-y: :marshadow: :fezandipiti: :ho-oh: :groudon-primal: :zygarde:

I know I said above that MMY "overlaps quite a bit with Ultra Necrozma on most hyper offense builds" but unlike Ultra Necrozma, MMY works pretty well on bulky offense builds since its Speed is more consistent. I used Substitute here to avoid unnecessary mindgames against Sucker Punch Yveltal and to punish passive Pokemon like Garganacl. It also gives me a lead against Smeargle teams. I added Marshadow as a secondary wallbreaker that eases the Arceus matchup nicely. Fezandipiti helps against Yveltal, Arceus-Dark, and Arceus-Fairy, and combines nicely with Ho-Oh to handle Sticky Web. Primal Groudon helps against Zacian-C and Primal Kyogre, while having Stone Edge to quickly get rid of Ho-Oh which Mega Mewtwo Y doesn't always like dealing with. It also helps wear down Tera Fairy Zygarde for the team. Finally, Zygarde itself is a nice blanket check to most physical attackers, synergising nicely with Fezandipiti, and is Tera Water to handle Dragon Dance Necrozma-DM.

And the extremely delayed (sorry) winner is Mega Mewtwo Y Bulky Offense :mewtwo-mega-y: :marshadow: :fezandipiti: :ho-oh: :groudon-primal: :zygarde: by... me?

Next Pokemon is: Arceus-Fairy!
1757079217843.png
:sv/Arceus-Fairy:
Arceus-Fairy @ Pixie Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 216 HP / 156 Def / 136 Spe or 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Tera Type: Dark / Poison
Timid Nature
- Judgment
- Recover
- Taunt / Toxic
- Calm Mind / Toxic / Stealth Rock

Despite its drop in viability recently, Arceus-Fairy still remains a consistent defensive unit and bulky sweeping option for many teams, especially against common threats such as Marshadow, Zygarde, and Yveltal. Even if it faces competition with Arceus-Dark, Arceus-Ground, and even Fezandpiti to an extent, it is still a prominent piece to the metagame. How will you build around it? Deadline is 12th September.

Palkia-O Bulky Offense :Palkia-origin: :landorus-therian: :groudon-primal: :ho-oh: :marshadow: :arceus-fairy:

Palkia-O is definitely the Pokemon of all time because its either a genuinely good wallbreaker or its just a dead slot if it misses or not. I'm using Thunder Wave over Fire Blast because firstly, who actually runs Ferrothorn (clueless), and secondly, Thunder Wave behind Substitute punishes opposing offensive teams pretty nicely. Landorus-T helps Palkia-O get in safely against targets such as Giratina-O and Yveltal while giving us Stealth Rock support. Primal Groudon appreciates Landorus-T beating Zacian-C so it can run a more offensive set which synergises nicely with Palkia-O, notably abusing the latter forcing Tera Grass Ho-Oh and Tera Steel Giratina-O. Ho-Oh gives us Defog support and helps beat Eternatus; paralysis spam with Palkia-O is also pretty funny if you pull it off. Marshadow gives us a final wallbreaker while blitzing past Ultra Necrozma and Deoxys-A. Finally, the main Pokemon, Arceus-Fairy, helps us beat Yveltal, gives us a secondary wincon that appreciates Ho-Oh and Primal Groudon being beaten down, while having a semi-decent matchup against Stall with Tera Poison.

:zacian-crowned: +3 252 Atk Tera Fighting Zacian-Crowned Close Combat vs. 248 HP / 84 Def Groudon-Primal: 340-402 (84.3 - 99.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
