Work In Progress (WIP) Pokedex Entries can be posted at any time for comments from the community.

No more than three sets of WIP Pokedex Entries can be posted by any individual person through the entire course of the submission thread. This limit applies to ALL posts made by a single person, even if previous posts are edited or deleted. This limit is intended to curb the tendency for some submitters to spam the thread repeatedly with multiple Pokedex Entries. This detracts from other submissions and makes it difficult for commenters to survey the submission thread.

Do not bump your WIP Pokedex Entries by posting them repeatedly, or making minor wording changes. Bumping will result in the disqualification of all Pokedex Entries by the offender. Editing or deleting bump posts will not prevent disqualification.

Only ONE Final Submission can be made per person.

Final Submission

Zacian, the Warrior Pokémon

Scarlet: Known as a legendary hero, this Pokémon absorbs metal particles, transforming them into a weapon it uses to battle.

Violet: This Pokémon has slumbered for many years. Some say it's Zamazenta's elder sister—others say the two Pokémon are rivals.

Zacian-Crowned

Scarlet
: Now armed with a weapon it used in ancient times, this Pokémon needs only a single strike to fell even Gigantamax Pokémon.

Violet: Able to cut down anything with a single strike, it became known as the Fairy King's Sword, and it inspired awe in friend and foe alike.

Any Final Submission that does not follow the proper format will be disqualified.

Final Submission

Ramnarok
, the Dishonoured Pokémon

Scarlet: It fought in a terrible war 3000 years ago, alongside those since buried on the Menhir Trail. The heavy armor it dons was forged as part of its penance.

Violet: Ramnarok’s acute senses allow this veteran to foresee every intention. Behind its thousand-yard stare is a tranquil fury tempered by combat fatigue.

Ramnarok-Radiant, the Harbinger Pokémon

Scarlet: Shanties passed down by a savage, seafaring people refer to this Pokémon's clashes against Zygarde as a means of motivating colonisation efforts.

Violet: Ramnarok relapses into its true form when blinded by rage. Infinity Energy leaks out from its body like aurorae, irradiating foes into soulless husks.

I've gone into this more in my movepool sub, but I've elected to depict Ramnarok as a shell-shocked veteran, much like God of War's Kratos. Dormant form is basically the Older and Wiser Norse Kratos, Radiant is very much a Light Is Not Good/Holy Is Not Safe Greek-era Kratos.

Scarlet-Dormant: Implicates Ramnarok as a participant in the Kalos war ended by AZ. The Menhir Trail, in case people don't know what it is, is Kalos' Route 10, where the graves of the Pokémon sacrificed to power the ultimate weapon are lined. Evidently, like AZ, Ramnarok regrets fighting in the war and the lives it took.

Violet-Dormant: Ramnarok's inspiration is Heimdallr, though in this case the specifics is a Shoutout to God of War's version, whose foresight is, to quote Mimir "More like… he reads the person. Sees their intention." Ram isn't Psychic-type, after all. Combat fatigue, for the uninitiated oversimplified in layman's terms, is short term PTSD, and one of its symptoms is hypervigilance. It also neatly and implicitly explains the upsides and downsides of No Guard: Ram is capable of aiming all its attacks because of its acute senses, but because it's overreactive and sensitive to any possible threats, it also leaves itself vulnerable.

Scarlet-Radiant: ...I admit that I've been listening a bit too much to Miracle of Sound's Ode to Fury and To Be Better; 'a savage, seafaring people' is what :Meowth-Galar:'s Sword dex entry called Vikings; anyways, I'm also interpreting Ramnarok as a outcast member of the Aura Trio, partly cause they are also based on Norse mythology and to ride the Legends: ZA hype. I've chosen :Zygarde: as the narrative foil because 1. Zygarde is (tentatively) based on the three children of Loki, who (Loki, not his children) is fated to mutually kill Heimdall, Ramnarok's primary inspiration. [That said, one of Heimdall's possible disguises, Rígr (TLDR about this identity is that he invents social classes. Yay.), has been argued by some scholars to have been referring to Odin, who is fated to be killed by Fenrir aka :Zygarde-10%:] 2. where Zygarde represents a protector of the balance of nature, Ramnarok, in this case, could represent the anthropogenic environmental impact, I.E. man versus nature. I should point out that IRL shanties were typically work songs used to raise morale, and the Ramnarok shanties are not exactly... well, environmentally friendly, for starters, if you read into the lyrics. An approximation could be made with Do They Know It's Christmas? or Every Breath You Take. 3. There's also an interesting narrative symbolism in regards to types: In Dormant From, Ramnarok is Fire/Steel, which makes it extra vulnerable to Zygarde's Ground STAB; conversely, and the reason this is a Radiant dex, is that Ram's Ice-STAB is in turn super effective against Dragon/Ground Zygarde, which better illustrates the contrast.
Slightly off-topic, Ramnarok also compliments :Xerneas: & :Yveltal:'s motifs: Fire is a tool (if used properly) that can be used as a weapon. For Fire/Steel :Ramnarok: (which amusingly completely resists Xerneas' Fairy STAB), Ramnarok represents smithery, the creation of tools or works of art that can improve our wellbeing, physically or mentally. For Fire/Ice :Ramnarok-Radiant:, this oxymoronic nature could be a paradox that breaks reality, aka destruction, or leaning below, a Nuclear winter.

Violet-Radiant: Remember how Dormant form's dex mentions 'a tranquil fury'? Essentially, the use of Polar Flare is Ramnarok's trauma trigger, bringing back, to paraphrase a quote from Kratos, "...the god I once was". Also relating to Kalos, I am implicitly stating that AZ was inspired by Ramnarok's fury to build the Ultimate Weapon, and so, Ramnarok undergoes the opposite of what the Ultimate Weapons development, from a indiscriminate weapon of mass destruction towards something that could help restore life. The original wording unintentionally referenced nuclear warfare, but after it was pointed out to me that it's beyond GF's baseline I'm trying to censor the aftermath.

Ramnarok,
the Alphorn Pokémon

Scarlet: The runes on its armor are what keep its immense power in check. It keeps itself isolated from people, perhaps out of fear of its own power.

Violet: Its booming cry is amplified by its hollow horns, allowing it to be heard from regions away. Those who hear its cry become extremely eager to battle.

Ramnarok-Radiant, the Northernlight Pokémon

Scarlet:
3000 years ago, this Pokémon unleashed a snowstorm across Kalos that lasted for three years. Filled with shame, it fled to the south and has not been seen since.

Violet: Its control over temperature is powerful yet unreliable. Its body can go from 999 degrees F to -500 degrees F in a matter of minutes.

Scarlet Dormant: a kind of basic Mythical Pokémon dex entry that highlights its runes

Violet Dormant: a reference to the Gjallrhorn that Heimdall blows in Norse mythology to signify the start of Ragnarök

Scarlet Radiant: a reference to Fimbulwinter from Norse mythology, a terrible winter that lasted three whole years and was the direct preceding event to Ragnarök. Also establishes Ramnarok's home region as Kalos, not only to capitalize on PLZA hype, but it's also extremely fitting as the Kalos box art legendaries are also based on creatures from Norse mythology.

Violet Radiant: plays up the Fire/Ice typing

Ramnarok-Dormant's category is the name of an old type of instrument made with the horns of animals, while Ramnarok-Radiant's category is another name for the aurora borealis and also a reference to Deltarune teehee

Ramnarok
, the Omen Pokemon

Scarlet: Even with armor that restrains its power, it can spew flames as hot as the sun's. Every time it blows into its horns, its armor melts a little more.

Ramnarok-Radiant, the Crossroads Pokemon

Scarlet: The horns of frost and flame have been bellowed. Soon, there will be nothing but a shining aurora left.

Violet: With its physical and emotional restraints broken, Ramnarok threatens to scorch everything with ice-hot flames. The fate of our ancestors awaits.

Final Submission

Ramnarok-Radiant, the Omen Pokémon

Scarlet: Auroras can be seen when Ramnarok gallops over mountains. Myths claim this heralds a new age of endless frost.
