Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Boasting access to one of the best setup moves in the game in Tail Glow, Manaphy can function as a dangerous breaker, being able to muscle through some teams with ease. Its colourful coverage and serviceable bulk can make it a nuisance when on the field, being able to potentially spiral out of control with its setup. How will you build around this dangerous Water-type?
Boasting an interesting defensive typing and good utlity, Gastrodon finds itself fulfilling a niche utility role on some teams. Its decent stats and typing make it an effective defensive piece, providing an Electric-type immunity and potentially a Water-type one as well through Storm Drain. It boats a decent move pool, with attacking options such as Scald, Earth Power and Ice Beam, as well as strong supporting moves such as Toxic, topped off with access to good recovery in Recover. How will you build around this underrated sea slug?
Curse Gastro
Dont ask who's skeleton i stole for ts. All i know is that curse gastro can clean sometimes and the rest of the team assists that goal in some way. Use grassy turns to set up curses, not throw out earthquakes.
With the arrival of Kingambit in SV, Bisharp has very quickly fallen out of favour, but this is SS! Boasting a great offensive typing and access to strong priority in Sucker Punch, Bisharp can become a threatening sweeper with Swords Dance. Defiant can be used as a great deterrent to moves such as Defog, while its STABs also let it threaten the majority of the tier, especially when coupled with passable bulk and speed. How will you build around this now overshadowed not so supreme overlord?
