RBY LC is back! This time we're doing a tournament where all Sleep and Accuracy-lowering moves are banned as a test run before we suspect both categories of move officially. Placing well in this tournament will provide you an opportunity to vote in these suspect tests if you failed to attain reqs in prior tournaments, as well.

Tournament Rules:
  • Matches will be best-of-three in every round (defined as the first player to win two games; ties are not counted).
  • All tournament games must be played on Pokemon Showdown!, and all replays of all tournament games must be posted.
  • Winner of the tournament will receive a $30 prize - I will deliver this via PayPal, Venmo, or a gift on a platform like Steam, or we can discuss other options after the tournament concludes depending on region of the winner.
  • The matches will be played in the [Gen 1] LC format. Sleep-inflicting moves (aside from Rest) and Accuracy-reducing moves are banned - you can enforce this via the following challenge code, or if a player uses one of these moves it's an automatic game loss:
/challenge gen1lc @@@ -Sleep Powder, -Spore, -Hypnosis, -Sing, -Sand Attack, -Flash, -Smokescreen
  • The format will depend on number of signups - if feasible we will run a Swiss with a top cut, otherwise we will run a double elimination bracket.
  • Each round will last exactly one week, barring extensions.
  • All general tournament rules and guidelines apply. Please note one specific section I want to emphasize below; poor sportsmanship may result in removal from the tournament in addition to any infractions you would otherwise get for poor sportsmanship or insulting others. We're here to have fun, lets keep things fun for everyone!
    • Sportsmanship: If a player displays exceedingly poor sportsmanship before, during, or after a tournament battle, they may be disqualified or otherwise punished.
  • RBY Little Cup rules that are important to know:
    • Dragon Rage, Sonic Boom, Wrap, and Fire Spin are banned. Clamp is not banned, and Bind cannot be learned by any LC-legal Pokemon.
    • Tradeback moves are banned.
    • Sleep moves are banned for this tournament.
    • Accuracy-lowering moves are banned for this tournament.
    • Level looping is legal, so all Pokemon can access all of their level-up moves; this also legalizes Clefairy, which cannot be legally obtained at level 5 even with GSC Tradebacks.
