Choice Specs Latios is a dangerous wallbreaker thanks to its good Speed tier, array of high-powered options, and solid coverage to hit potential checks. Luster Purge obliterates Fighting- and Poison-types like Great Tusk, Iron Hands, and Toxapex for teammates like Roaring Moon. Its Special Defense drop chance also allows Latios to take on neutral targets like Clefable and Articuno. Thunderbolt hits bulky Flying- and Water-types like Corviknight and Empoleon. Draco Meteor is Latios's strongest STAB move, most notably annihilating threats like Archaludon, Walking Wake, and Kyurem. Ice Beam forms a deadly BoltBeam core with Thunderbolt and allows Latios to hit Ground-types like Gliscor and Landorus-T without its Special Attack dropping. Aura Sphere can be run over Ice Beam to hit Steel-types like Heatran. Trick allows Latios to majorly hinder defensive staples like Assault Vest Galarian Slowking and Hisuian Goodra that can take it on.
Archaludon functions as a wonderful teammate for Latios, as it can take on Bisharp and other Dark-types like Ting-Lu with Body Press and Stamina. It also provides entry hazard support in the form of Stealth Rock. In return for both, Latios can switch in on Ground-type attacks, like Earthquake from the likes of Choice Scarf Great Tusk and Choice Band Excadrill, thanks to Levitate; this also allows Latios to find opportunities to fire off its strong attacks. Another good defensive partner for Latios would be Hisuian Goodra, as it can take special Fairy-type attacks from Flutter Mane and Hatterene and remove them with its STAB boosted Heavy Slam. Hisuian Goodra also removes important items like Articuno's Heavy Duty Boots with Knock Off, allowing Latios to break it easier with the help of hazards. Utility Dragapult is another great teammate, as it can outspeed threatening foes that outspeed Latios, like Choice Specs Flutter Mane and mixed Iron Valiant, and ruin them with Thunder Wave. Choice Band Dragapult also pairs well with Latios, as it can take out faster threats to Latios like Choice Specs Greninja and Darkrai after Stealth Rock chip and also bring Latios in safely with U-turn against it's own checks like Toxapex and Skarmory. Garchomp is yet another good teammate, as it sets entry hazards to make Latios's wallbreaking job easier while scaring off Steel-types such as Heatran and Gholdengo lacking Air Balloon with its powerful Earthquake. Raging Bolt finds its place alongside Latios, removing threats like Choice Scarf Enamorus and Choice Scarf Iron Valiant with Thunderclap at +1. Choice Scarf Roaring Moon provides speed control for Latios and takes care of troublesome threats like Choice Scarf Gholdengo, Choice Specs Flutter Mane, and Galarian Slowking.
