Hey. I honestly don't have too much to discuss compared to last time. I would say I've been getting my ass beat for the past month(which isn't entirely wrong). But compared to the struggle I had to endure before, this time wasn't as bad. I got to low to mid 1800s a few times just testing teams out. I was mainly doing things for fun and to keep practice. It just so happened I got this really high. Sure there were teams that were mildly wack like Sand Attack SD
on veil(don't ask how this got to 1800s), or trying to make HDB
work, but they were still fun at least. That's besides the point though, I'm here to show you the best one here.
For The Love Of The Game

For The Love Of The Game
The Last Ronin (
) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sharpness
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 232 HP / 84 Atk / 136 SpD / 56 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Ceaseless Edge
- Razor Shell
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
is here as usual for its usual shenanigans with Ceaseless Edge and Knock Off. If the spread looks familiar to the one on smogdex its cuz I may or may not have helped with creating the new spread for it, so yippee for me. I did opt to lower my HP a little since there wasn't any notable dmg changes that would be too significant. 84 Atk is here to kill offensive
after a spike. The combined HP and Spdef help with surviving Specs
after rocks, Modest
after rocks, and 2 +2
Sludge Bomb. 56 speed is still outspeed
,
, and Bold
. Tera Poison is still here as usual. Have fun with this goober as usual.
Vesuvius (
) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Flame Body
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 248 HP / 220 Def / 40 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
- Will-O-Wisp
- Stealth Rock
is the rocks setter alongside being the
,
and
check, though it can also be super applicable to a lot of the physical attackers rn. Helmet especially punishes midground moves and pivoting like U-turn from
and
, but also punishes Knock Off from
and
. Helmet also makes
especially hard to remove hazards in front of since it really messes with Rapid Spin from
and
, which forces super wack 50/50s. Lava Plume + Wisp is here to basically always force a burn onto the opponent, and also because Magma Storm + Taunt wasn't needed here. I went with a physically defensive spread with enough speed to outspeed Adamant
. Tera Grass is here to check
and
. I stuck with Flame Body since you can reasonably bluff Flash Fire against
,
, or
. Fun mon all around. Helmet is underrated
Wish Upon A Star (
) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Luster Purge
- Aura Sphere
- Flip Turn
is here for speed control and defensive utility with Levitate while also being able to exert immense firepower. I went with Modest here since Timid isn't too needed with
being rarer and rarer, while
are going Modest as well, so it doesn't matter too much. It still outspeeds
anyways. For a while I tried making Psychic Noise work but Luster Purge's extra power let me muscle through more stuff like
. Aura Sphere lets me hit
,
, and
, while Flip Turn lets me keep momentum up against a hard wall like
. Tera Steel is still important as a way to check
and
, which lets me function better as a offensive defensive tool. Great as a late game cleaner and strong pivot.
The Little Prince (
) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Vacuum Wave
So for a while I was running Scarf
, which I do think isn't too bad. But ValiantValerie gave me the idea of Specs tbh, so I have this goober now. It was also the main thing I wanted to build around. Vacuum Wave is used here to get
and
while smacking weakened mons like
. tbh 99% of the time you spam Moonblast and occasionally Vacuum Wave, so the other moves are sorta filler. Thunderbolt does help vs
and
, and Shadow Ball really chunks
. Tera Fairy lets me spam Moonblast even more, which honestly is disgusting with how fast it is. Incredibly nice to have overall as a wallbreaker.
Lightning Rod (
) @ Leftovers
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Ice
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Ice Spinner
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
is here as hazard control while checking
and
. I decided going fully spdef would be a overall boon since it let
be incredibly bulky against smth like
and even
. Iron Head is a neat tool for me to use as it lets
be an actual check to
and
, while also hitting
and
harder. Ice Spinner helps vs
,
, and
. Tera Ice is used to strengthen Ice Spinner and be a better
check. Fun guy to keep around and solid defensive pivot.
Transylvania (
) @ Choice Band
Ability: Clear Body
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Darts
- Tera Blast
- U-turn
- Will-O-Wisp
is used for breaking over bulky teams, and being the tera captain basically. Marnie gave me the idea of using CB
, which was great since it made
a lot more scary to switch into without a
. There's the usual of Darts, TB Ghost, and U-turn, so I can basically blow over teams with frailer ghost resists like
. Wisp was nice last slot as a way to cripple
and
without having to risk
. Clear Body is still nice as a way to beat down webs and
Intimidate. Great at throwing out attacks and chunking
with strong U-turns
