Tournament SCL V UU Discussion

Week 6 Predicts:
SV UU: Sabella vs Sacri'
Sacri has been getting extremely unlucky these past couple of weeks, losing to zS due to a poorly timed crit and losing many other games down to luck. While Sabella also lost last week, I feel like his loss was worse because he lost Excadrill, which was his only spinner, early on in the game, which contributed to the rest of the team getting worn down. I expect Sacri to win this week to stem the bleeding of a horrible season so far.
SV UU: Mimilucha vs JustFranco
Franco had a phenomenal win last week, defeating Sabella with a Spikestack team that gradually wore sabella's team down with the help of knock off and getting rid of excadrill early. While Mimilucha also won last week, defeating pdt's team which lacked a water resist. Franco is phenomenal player who I expect to win this week.
SV UU: crying vs pdt
crying dominated Punny last week, after getting a little lucky with a timely crit on Araquanid, which snowballed into a 6-0 featuring vacuum wave Gardevior. However pdt, despite losing to Mimilucha last week due to lacking a water resist, will be prepared to deal with crying's teambuilding. I expect pdt to win here.
SV UU: etern vs Punny
etern is having a fantastic season, as he is currently 4-1. However, his next 3 opponents are Punny, pdt, and Franco, which will be extremely difficult. etern also won against SoggyDoggySage last week, playing extremely well and timing his tera perfectly to be able to sweep SoggyDoggySage. Punny on the other hand got a little unlucky against crying, which all unfolded after a turn 1 crit. Punny I feel will be more prepared this week, and I expect them to pull of the win here.
SV UU: zS vs SoggyDoggySage
zS got a little lucky vs Sacri last week, winning by virtue of a well timed critical hit. SoggyDoggySage on the other hand, lost to etern despite having a team that I felt had a better matchup into etern's team. I expect zS to win due to them having played more games of SV UU in the tour so far.

hi, i had a ton of fun playing uu this season so i decided to share the teams i made which i thought were p cool. before I start I wanna give a quick shoutout to my managers Dave , Vulpix03 , and Larry for having me, despite not making playoffs i had a ton a fun. now without further ado:

week 1 vs Eternal Spirit:

I honestly had close to 0 experience playing this tier but one thing that i realized pretty quickly was how potent ho was in this tier during the torn economy so I decided to try my hands at a few structures and ended up deciding on webs + screen because gama was someone i expected to either bring something really fat that would struggled with screens or some big ho that would struggle vs webs, having bee gave me both so this team ended up being pretty adaptable and covered a wide range of mus which I really liked, especially vs someone like gama who is known to cook hard in the builder + had 0 scout to speak of prior to the tour, i'm not gonna talk much about the sets for the 1st 4 weeks because they aren't really relevant anymore, but sub ghost mana and np ghost thundy are really good even now for anyone who wants to give those a try.
week 2 vs Mimilucha:
Capture d’écran 2025-11-08 à 01.05.42.png
Week 2 came and I tried my hand at a much more standard structure to see how those played out before really getting my hands dirty and trying unorthodox things out like I often do, dgmw this still had some nice twists but I honestly got p cocky and decided that I would win this game solely on play and this kind of team assured my at worst a 30-70 mu so I thought I could just play p comfortably. God was I wrong, and mimilucha took advantage of that p nicely with the structure they brought. there's a few sets on this I thought were cool, mental herb king was Colin 's idea which took advantage of taunt torn to ease the slither + zarude breaking which was p cool, av slither was nice altho it didn't end up doing much.
week 3 vs crying:

I'm gonna be honest, crying was probably the opponent I was most afraid of going into this because of how insane their builds can get, but this is also the moment of the tour where I really started getting comfy with the tier and wasn't really afraid to start experimenting with lesser used mons like av mienshao which was so sheist in torn meta, brambleghast, cloak hippo because fez is fez and it was doing fez things which are annoying. honestly this is probably my favorite team of the first half of the season because I think it had the perfect balance of nice fun techs + really solid backbone and it ended up working quite nicely despite the infestation bramble tech not getting a chance to hit.
week 4 vs etern:

not much to say about this team, it was just my entei week and I really think entei is very solid even rn post torn because sacred fire is a filthy move and having a strong prio is always nice. the team is just standard, hazard stack + knock + ghost. it is admittedly pretty slow but that meta honestly you could get away with slow shit, it didn't work due to an untimely poison from heat wave on lati but still was a cool game / team.
week 5 vs Sacri':

the big meta shift came, bye tornadus (thank god) and heatran, welcome weavile. Lyssa kinda challenged me to finally get an elecblast weavile win because apparently that set was talked about a lot every single time weavile was in this tier but nobody could make it work, so I took my chances and ended up getting a lucky win vs Sacri. the real star of this team is sd protect tink tho, i think that set is so good in a tier filled with strong prio users and general tendencies being a lot bulkier since weavile's arrival, so I wanted to give it a go and it did not disappoint. Disclaimer however, if you plan on using this team please make tinkaton max speed, the spread here eats something that i forgot so it's prob not that relevant anymore idt and I almost lost because of it being slower than a hawlucha so, change that.
week 6 vs SoggyDoggySage:

only team I won't share the paste for because I didn't make it, I only edited like 3 sets but this one is all spell . I was kinda swamped this week and couldn't get a good idea of what I wanted to use but spelly stepped up and gave this sheist rhyperior build that I really liked so thank you spelly.
week 7 vs Punny:
Capture d’écran 2025-11-08 à 01.06.25.png

first of the big 3, and honestly, this is probably one of the best teams I made all tour (I think it's close with the week 9 team but i'll get to that one soon), i really wanted to ditto someone and honestly punny felt like the prime candidate to do so. it's sooo good into every single form of cheese (barring stall and terrain which i ended up facing) and the rest of the guys were there to ensure I had a solid tools into standard shit if punny ever decided to run one of those although i thought it was p unlikely. harc is honestly really good rn if only for the fact that it is the single best non ep dirge answer (and come on we all know ep isn't real). it is still pretty hard to build with but i think throwing it on a h-stack squad with taunt kix and reuni + skarm as knock absorbers made it all the more threatening. reuni itself is a p cool pick into bulkier teams if you're wondering how you're gonna break fez structures look no further than this guy, he's sheist he absorbs status colbur lets it 1v1 most zarudes if you're lucky what's not to love.
week 8 vs pdt:
Capture d’écran 2025-11-08 à 01.06.31.png
i'm gonna be honest here, i did not think about bringing sun vs pdt originally, i wanted to bring webs because he hates boots and tends to stick to more offensive structures with some nice techs. but then Sabella pointed to me that sun was a great bring and uh, hell yeah it was. it's a pretty standard sun i think, weather ball specs latios is honestly filthy and hella impossible to switch into. the real star of the game ended up being tblast ghost hilli, i didn't expect that she was originally here to support lati / venu sweeps but she ended up killing everything so thanks hillI.
week 9 vs JustFranco:
Capture d’écran 2025-11-08 à 01.06.38.png
last but certainly not least, franco. his season on the line, i kinda knew some sort of stall or at least semi-stall was coming so i opted for taunt nasty plot tera ghost mon a la darkrai in ou and it ended up on what might be my favorite team i made all season. it just wins so consistently, rh fez is so annoying to take down, scarf drill helped with the minor lati problems i had and tera ground addy has like an 81% chance to ohko. cb pon is so so so good paired with thundy because at worst you get a free pivot into thundy vs skarm and break the sturdy so they're way less inclined to whirlwind you. np lefties bulky thundy is honestly pretty filthy esp with dual hazard control, hazards on my end ended up going on my choice locked mons since uh, didn't really need them but they were still really nice to have especially since i expected to play a fairly long game (lol). this just has everything i like in a team, strong pivots, great bulky unexpected wincon, solid speed control, future sight + strong breaker, hazards, hazard control, statuts game all combined into one hell of a sturdy team that isn't just there to target the stall matchup but actually does really well into most shit in the meta rn.

and that's the end of my yapping, thanks for reading or not and again i really really enjoyed playing uu this season had a ton of fun in the builder i think it is truly the best lower tier rn. see you next SCL maybe.
