Players who participated in 1v1 World Cup VIII

If a player participated in 1v1 World Cup VII, they will be locked onto their team from the previous year, barring the following exceptions:

If the team they most recently played for no longer exists, they will be treated as a player eligible for a new team (see below)
If a player's region has changed since last 1v1 World Cup VIII, they may choose to instead play for the region currently associated with their forum IPs. This is a one-time choice; doing so forfeits their previous eligibility. They will not be able to be grandfathered back onto their previous team in the future, and even if they return to their old region in the future, this eligibility will remain forfeited.

Players who did not participate in 1v1 World Cup VIII / players eligible for new teams

Players that are not locked on a team and are not eligible for grandfathering (new players or players whose previous teams no longer exist) may only play for the regions associated with their forum IPs. If a player has IPs to prove that they spend extended periods of time in multiple regions within the past 12 months (e.g. students who attend university in one region and live in another), they can apply to join the team associated with either region. TDs will review this on a case-by-case basis. Eligibility for the rejected team will be forfeited. However, players with significant periods of provable residency prior to the past 12 months may apply to join the team associated with their old IPs. The TD team will consider these applications on a case-by-case basis.

In cases where regional eligibility is unclear, please reach out to one of the hosts.

Re: Replay Posting

All replays for matches must be posted within 24 hours of the first game occurring, or else the result from that series will be voided and the series must be replayed. You have a 24 hour grace period from right now (12:59 AM GMT -5) to post the replays from any games which already occurred.

Re: Replays

Due to some issues regarding replays, ALL GAMES ARE HEAVILY ENCOURAGED TO TAKE PLACE ON SMOGTOURS (https://smogtours.psim.us/).

If you cannot connect to smogtours, you may still play on main (https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/). Then, the following rules apply:
  • You MUST KEEP THE ROOM PUBLIC. Do not click the checkbox when sending/accepting challenges. If a game starts in a private room, both players must use /publicroom to make the room public.
  • You MUST NOT HIDE THE REPLAY. If you do not know what this means, you do not have to worry.
  • Anyone deliberately refusing to either of the above will be infracted.
It is unclear exactly what causes these replay issues right now, but please let me and the forum moderators know if any new evidence emerges. For now, these two methods appear to be safe. Once these problems are resolved, I will post in this thread again to give permission to play on PS again.

Re: rarax vs LongRat

rarax and LongRat likely played a series earlier today with rarax winning 3-1. However, rarax posted links to rooms and not replays, and as nobody uploaded a replay for the fourth game in the series, it was not preserved. Thus, there is currently no replay or proof of a win.

1. Please remember to post REPLAYS and not links to rooms.
2. rarax has until 24 hours after g1 occurred to produce a link to a replay for game 4. If such a replay cannot be produced, both rarax and LongRat must schedule a time to replay the series starting from game 4, with rarax up 2-1.

Re: Cono de la Corrèze / Team France

Cono de la Corrèze has been banned from Smogon for reasons unrelated to 1v1 WC IX. They have been removed from the tournament. Team France may elect a new co-captain, and may choose a replacement player from their signups. Akeras

Re: pignoufland vs Niko

No member of Team France posted the replays to this series within 24h of the first game occurring. Per the ruling earlier in this thread, the results of this series are voided, and the series must be replayed. pignoufland Akeras Niko RADU Close
