Project SS National Dex OU Team Bazaar

This is my first post and NAT DEX team

Please give me feedback on the team

Although not my first team it is the first team I’ve built for the format and I’m sorry if my post isn’t perfect it is my first post on Smogon although I have dwelled for four ish years (I’m still a kid please don’t harass me

Mega pinsir works as a wallbreaker and gets kills on the stupid water karate bear,

(if it’s Non speed boosting nature)

Graninja which is a important matchup due to being able to kill it before protein or battle bond activates

Serperior which with 4% usage and its contrary, leaf storms needs to be handled quickly before it boosts out of control and if you can snag a kill before it mega evolves you can get a plus one boost which could let you skip swords dance or get to +3 both of which can get you sneaky KO’s on a lot of Pokémon that otherwise would survive by a little bit (and changes a lot of 70-80% kill calcs to 100% chance to KO



Then after looking over matchups of mega pinsir I decided to add a ground type mon due to its bad matchups with zerarora, tapu koko, Zapdos, and melmetal and with the main bad matchups being weak or resisted to by ground/steel I decided to slot in Gurren the excadrill due to its good matchups and synergy



Excadrill was a good pick here specifically due mega pincir being weak to mons like Zapdos,

countering both greninjas and mega lopunny which exploit it’s weaknesses out of sand due to its bulk being good at best, thus I used max speed lorb with rapid spin as you can take most hits with about 50ish percent left on whichever stat side you invest in (I chose special because the two types it is weak to is mainly special (except the best vgc Pokémon of all time) *insert Tera ____ incinaroar joke here*



(although a bloom doom, substitute, swords dance, Kartana set instead might be better depending on playstyle)



I then added toxtricity because it’s boombursts deal huge damage, as well as completing the type core. And it is going to function as a semi special wall to tank all of its resists with one 4x weakness to ground and one 2x weakness to psychic using air balloon to get rid of the 4x weakness



After I had gotten this far I decided that overall my team lacked a general switch in and wish passer so I chose scream tail due to its excellent bulk with good speed and offense of a mid stage starter, which caused me to chose a purely disruptive set

Of wish for support healing

Perish song to apply switch pressure

T wave to inflict pera

And disable to hard counter any mons with only one attack or damaging move



Then I added gliscor because it acts as a secondary flying/ground type mon incase of pinsir or excadrill perishing with a semi standard set sacrificing substitute for rocks and using facade instead of earthquake swords dance

Hp fire(put for kartana,Scizor and Ferrothorn)



At which point I needed to add my last mon to fill the weaknesses of my team and the team was both laking in a fast attacker and special attacks so I landed on iron moth due to its poison fire type excellent special attacks and speed as well as giving offensive poison attacks which toxtricity doesn’t cover as well as having STAB fire to deal with steel types my team struggles with
