Signups for the November 2025 tournament are officially open!!!
This metagame, moreso in my opinion than some recent ones, reminds me of classic 35 Pokes metas that made you stop in your tracks when the thought of "I need to account for this pokemon in the builder otherwise my team's going to lose" crossed your mind. For me, that was the realization that shadow ball
was a sleeper anti-meta threat I had not accounted for, and that 
, a pokemon once quickbanned for being too unuseable to allow for another spinner to enter the meta (this was almost exactly 2 years ago), is genuinely a threat and a win condition in this metagame. But fans of more conventional tiers, don't abandon hope yet -- we have something for you too in the form of Pickpocket 
being the current most used pokemon in the entire metagame. Even webs, screens, and paraspam aren't enough to stop this absolute demon from using what it learned in its time in SV OU to mop the floor with the comparative toddlers (and 
) occupying natdex 35 November this year. The tournament scene itself is also heating up, with higher numbers of highly decorated players than ever entering the competition at the same time as we've crowned our second brand-new champion in a row!! I absolutely cannot wait to see what everybody comes up with for this next tournament, and can barely contain my excitement for what we have in store for the tier's top players at the end of this year...

Regarding Squawkabilly [December 2025 metagame]:
Only the Green form is legal to use this month; the Yellow and White forms are not. The Green and Blue forms have Guts as their hidden ability, while the Yellow and White ones have Sheer Force. Since no individual Squawkabilly can potentially access both the Guts and the Sheer Force abilities, the forms with different hidden abilities are considered different pokemon for the sake of legality in this tier. And, despite the Blue and Green forms sharing the same hidden ability, since they are technically considered different pokemon on Cartridge and in National Dex, they are also considered separate pokemon.

The Council has voted unban the following items:

Solganium Z
Lunalium Z
Mewnium Z
Marshadium Z
and ban the following:
Booster Energy
The respective Z crystals were unbanned because of them bypassing Knock Off's increased damage as well as making the users immune to Trick and Switcheroo which is better in most cases over using no item; Shaymin in January25 for reference. These Z crystals were added because there was a definitive decision that the mons that could potentially use them, would never be added to the rollable pool. Tapunium Z & Kommonium Z are not added despite their Pokemon not being rollable because there is still debate if Kommo-o or Tapu Bulu should be allowed to be rolled. Booster Energy was banned as a precaution for the addition of Sandy Shocks & Iron Leaves into the rollable pool, and the ban may possibly be lifted in the future.

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but you are probably aware of what was happening in the Discord server. My Discord account had been compromised and spamming messages to suspicious links in the server. Please let everyone know that I am 100% innocent and fell to an unfortunately very convincing scam that came from a former user on the Smogon forums. This should not in any way affect my standings in the 35 Pokes community.
Unfortunately, whenever it comes to metas that don't fall on April or October, it's always the #matchmaking channel on the 35 Pokes Discord server, and it seems like there's no other good options at the moment.
Discord has been known to be quite risky in the past and you and I should know — this is coming from someone who recently suffered from a compromised Discord account and now currently barred from touching their services IRL.

With the year of 2025 ended, I've decided that our goated community deserves some awards, so I will be officially starting stage one of the award process, starting with the nomination stage, which you can find
HERE!!!
In order to submit your nominations:
- Click the link above.
- Enter the username(s) of whoever you wish to nominate in the appropriate field.
- You can only nominate ONE (1) user per category.
- If you don't know anyone to nominate, leave the field blank; no need to fill everything out.
- You cannot edit your votes after you've submitted.
- When you're done, click "Submit" at the bottom of the page.
- The 5 most mentioned players in each category will be declared the official nominees and move to Phase 2, Voting. During the Voting phase, you will pick between those five to determine the winner of each category.
- Any attempt at trolling by submitting non-existent users or fake smogon usernames will result in the entire nomination being invalidated.
