GSC GSC OU 2025 Circuit Championship: Semifinals

16. Conflict vs MrSoup - 2 vibes-based trainers step into the ring after solid round 1 showings. On one side stands a legendary world-beater, a name that echoes across older generations...especially GSC..needing absolutely no introduction. On the other, a surging contender who’s been carving up OU all year, sharper by the week and showing zero signs of slowing down. I've been very impressed with soups picks and play so far ngl. Damn shame bro is a wimp and is opting to not SPL this year?? Lame

History teaches a simple lesson thou: you almost never bet against the Don. The man’s track record speaks for itself. However, this matchup has real upset potential. Flict is the safe pick, the one I’m sliding my chips toward, but with the form Soup is riding, fresh off a clean and comfortable 2-0 win against the undefeated GSCPL Crobat menace Underlying, the gap tightens fast. So I'm putting this one at a 60-40 favoring Flict, and wouldn't be surprised to see the odds shift to a more even balance as the set goes on.

15. KeshBa54 vs Rubyblood - Well shiiieeeet.

Wtf can I say?! Keshba took my trifling words from last week and stuffed them back into the flaming pit they crawled out from . His performance versus Siatam was legitimately impressive...an unexpectedly clean 2-0 against a long-standing GSC mainstay. And sure, some folks argued that Siatam handicapped himself in the builder for both games, but credit where it’s due: Keshba capitalized perfectly, maneuvering each situation with the precision of someone who didn’t come to fk around.

He's going up against Ruby however, one of the strongest active GSC staples and someone far less likely to clown around in the builder too much. Tho, despite his tendencies to stick to the solid, tried-and-true structures, his Round 1 showing proved he’s willing to branch out when the moment calls for it: tapped-in Donphan technology and a Double-Elec composition with an interesting Eggy set that ended up clutching the series. Bro looking confident and composed overall as we inch closer to SPL szn.

As much as I respect the high Keshba is riding after last week’s shocker, I’m boldly and comfortably leaning Ruby here to bring him back down to earth.

Prove me wrong tho bud. Always love to see it.

14. Fear vs 6. Skarpherim - This one writes itself. In this year’s GSC Cupit was Skarpherim, the eventual champion, who slammed the door on FOAT’s long-held dream of winning it all in the semifinals. So you know Fear's stepping into this one with a full head of steam and a taste for vengeance.

Both trainers looked pretty solid in their r1 set with some "classic" offbeat builds/techs. Skarph had an interesting 4A Champ going crazy vs fellow Crobat OmBrArch. Fear brought back one of his old time favorites in restless protect skarm. Very fun, scrappy matches for the spectators.

Logically I should always bold Fear here, but like they say in MMA: styles make fights, and I think these 2 styles clash head on into what will make for A very unpredictable bout. Going neutral here. But if I had to put my house on the line I'm bolding FOAT to take it

13. PDC vs 12. cyberacc - Eh.

I wasn’t particularly convinced by Cyber’s showing against Tyler, and PDC, meanwhile, looked dominant versus The Psychologist and has been remarkably consistent over the past few months thanks to his rigorous classic prep. Given all that it’s hard not to lean his way here.

Easy bold for the champ.

Looking forward to ggs

if no one else will do predicts ill write some up:

8. MrSoup > 12. cyberacc
This is a close one. Usually I would favour Soup as I really disagree with Cyber's theory of the game, but he had a very good showing vs PDC. Soup I also dont really get as a player, but seems go have a more go with the flow approach to team choice, and is a bit more willing to take risks in game. Typically in a match vs a more linear vs freestyle player I would favour the freestyle one (Soup), but "yber seems to have transcended so should be close. Not sure what to expect game wise but should be good. Would like to see 1-2 tenta stall mirrors though if taking requests.

7. Rubyblood < 14. Fear
Ruby is hard to classify as a player for me, not super extreme in the builder or playstyle but still wins (likes phys / "french" offense + screens but w/e). Kind of just someone who plays a good game, sort of CE like, i.e. not super flashy but wins. Fear on the other hand has a very "deep" style - very tapped in to the flow of play, and is able to make key reads and generally guide the game to go where he wants. Also has a knack for little optimizations in play, which add up over the course of a game. Would favour Fear on balance, but hope we get 3 good games out of the set.
