Happy Holidays! <3 Overused

Secret Santa returns! Happy Holidays to all who celebrate. I'm excited to host Secret Santa this year simply because it's an anonymous exchange of gifts. To sign up, reply to this thread letting me know you are interested, and send me a Smogon DM with either a Pokémon, core, or archetype for you to receive. Ideas for personal Secret Santa ideas must be submitted before December 12th, midnight. Right afterwards is the building stage (everyone is assigned a Christmas request), which lasts roughly a week. Reply with "in" to sign up or some form below. Happy Building!

:sv/sawsbuck:

- Don't sign up if you can't guarantee that you'll be able to finish building a team in time.
- Avoid telling people what request you sent/got, as it could ruin the surprise!
- Your allowed to request anything its legal in gen9ou.
- After sign-ups close, I'll use the same DM each user sent with their request to let them know the Pokémon or core that was assigned to them.
- Once you're done building, post the team you made on the thread and share the gift!
- Don't be afraid to join just because you feel like you might be "bad" at team building. Its just a fun activity.

Deadlines:
Secret Santa Sign-ups Deadline: December 12th, 11:00 PM GMT-5
Must submit your Christmas idea in Smogon DMs by December 12th alongside a sign-up post.

Here's the serp team! I tested this on ~1800s ladder and it worked pretty well.
Overall basis of the team is to paraspam with serp/Zapdos to clear up faster mons for the teammates who aren't necessarily the fastest.
However you can go another route; leech seed < glare on serp to help heal the hoopa more (hwish is mostly for it)
And run scarf enamorus then, since you lost a bit of speed control.
Anyways merry Xmas and enjoy the team :3

Hello Eeveeto, happy holidays! Your team w/ Poliwrath from last years secret santa is actually what got me interested in the project, i thought it was a very interesting use for a mon i had never thought of before, and it actually worked really well for me on ladder.

For this year you gave the challenge to build a team with Band Ceruledge and no Knock off users. Here is what I came up with:

:ceruledge: :tyranitar: :excadrill: :amoonguss: :corviknight: :darkrai:

Since sand seems to be on the come up recently, I wanted to try it out with Ceruledge as it destroys Corviknight, Drills no. 1 mortal enemy, from there the rest of the team followed suit. I was able to keep a pretty good record in laddering with the team, and Band Ceru put in some serious work that I was not expecting. Overall this was quite fun to make and play with, and I hope you enjoy it!

:ceruledge:
Ceruledge @ Choice Band
Ability: Weak Armor
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bitter Blade
- Poltergeist
- Close Combat
- Shadow Sneak

I figured this had to be the best set for Band Ceru, just the strongest moves possible. Tera Ghost Poltergeist is a nuke that can blow up any pokemon, even 2HKOing full max def Dozo. CC is nice to snipe gargs and lus

:tyranitar:
Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 240 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Ice Beam
- Heavy Slam

Ttar without knockoff is funny, but it works out pretty well. Rocks are still nice to have even w/o knock support, Stone edge is super strong damage for stuff like Moth, Ice Beam actually hits pretty strong on grounds with Ttars decent 95 SpA, and Heavy Slam hits fairies. Roar and Low Kick also sound good here

:excadrill:
Excadrill @ Loaded Dice
Ability: Sand Rush
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Blast
- Iron Head

Im not sure where I first saw LD Drill from, i think OLT? but I figured it would work really well here to hit the non metallic birds like Zapdos and Moltres. Because we're not smooth rock Tar I figured i wouldnt have much possibilities to go for Swords Dance stuff so I just went simple 4a.

:amoonguss:
Amoonguss @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Foul Play
- Toxic
- Synthesis
- Clear Smog

Look at the three guys before this and look at Ogerpon-W. Nice tspike absorber, Synthesis with Sand is pretty troll but since we're not using Smooth Rock its not that bad. I'm not sure what the tera for this pokemon usually is, but I've used Tera dark in the past for them ultra boosted Foul Plays

:corviknight:
Corviknight @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Body Press
- U-turn
- Defog
- Roost

Team needed a defogger, and Corviknight fit the bill here. I figured ID was not absolutely necessary as body press on gambit is gonna do a lot even without any boosts, and if we can force tera thats a W for us. Max def RH + Tera Dragon for if things go awry with Amoongus as an oger check, perhaps Fighting is better tho

:darkrai:
Darkrai @ Leftovers
Ability: Bad Dreams
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Sludge Bomb
- Ice Beam

For my last I wanted a fast pokemon that could threaten ghold, excadrill out of sand being my fastest pokemon could not work. Standard NP darkrai set, I really wanted to fit focus blast here but I'm not sure if any of the other slots are worth giving up. It's all up to preference, this mon can be customized so many different ways and theyll all still be op lol

Note: I feel like either making one of Ceru or Drill Jolly nature is probably correct, to outspeed Non-scarfed ghold. Ghold hstack can be annoying for this team, and this team doesnt really have a switch in to MIR, so I think trying this change out could help alleviate this weakness

Thanks for the team SirPeanutCronch , it looks very good.

Now, I didn,t know that teams had to be posted in this thread instead of sending them to the host, but since this seems to be the case, I present the utility Hisuian Zoroark team Faux Focalors Furina asked for:

:overqwil: :zoroark_hisui: :gholdengo: :heatran: :dragonite: :iron_valiant: https://pokepast.es/b072f987bcaea93b

Hopefully WoW + Memento qualifies as utility. This was very hard to build and with Zoroark being the "utility Mon", I couldn,t use a Specs set or NP with it, therefore the rest of the team had to be very offensive, which I don,t usually like.
Team has 4 Air Balloon Mons in order to not only be immune to Spikes and Webs, but also to use Illusion. Zoroark should be disguised as Heatran always, unless Heatran has to be the lead, in that case Gholdengo is the disguised Mon. Wow burns and makes Hex stronger, Tera Blast Fairy surprises Dark types but can also be used as a Normal STAB in battles in which Zoroark doesn,t use Tera. Memento is a suicide move that sometimes allows sweeps... or prevents them from the opponent.
Overqwil is a funny Spiker that also has Intimidate and surprise Destiny Bond. In theory Crunch can be used, but everyone expects it, so I went with Liquidation to damage Ground types, especially in the rare battles in which Overqwil uses Tera.
Gholdengo is a second spinblocker that also blocks Defog. Vs slower teams it sometimes sweeps, though usually it just uses offensive moves.
Heatran puts Rocks and prevents the same from slower Mons, as well as healing. With Tera Ghost, its the third spinblocker and walls all Cinderaces.
Finally, we have 2 sweepers. Nite does Nite things... in this case its Tera Ground, since we have no electric immunity otherwise. Iron Valiant is the only Knocker of the team and good revenge killer... once. Spirit Break sometimes helps Nite to set up.

Issues with the team:
-Players that you face more than once, especially if they change team and you don,t. Reliance on surprise is too high.
-Many Boots Mons, Hazards become worse and only Valiant has Knock.
-Weather teams. Vs Sun, Rocks have to be put turn 1 (unless Hatto) and even then Wake is one Nite away from sweeping. Still beatable, but its a very hard match-up.
-Ting Lu by itself will be defeated. The problem is that sometimes it will do too much damage before that happens.

My goal was to reach 1900 on ladder with this team. Unfortunately, I failed by 9 points, but still reached Top 40. Probably if I dedicated more days, I would have reached 1900 and maybe even more. These are the only 2 replays of the team I saved:
