Welcome to the third ZeroUsed Circuit playoffs of Generation 9! Players battled throughout numerous official tournaments and the top 16 qualifiers will compete to be the ZU Circuit Champion. All rounds will be hosted in this thread. The winner will receive a banner as a prize. In addition, the following Pokemon Showdown prizes are being offered, courtesy of PS! Staff:
  • A custom avatar.
  • The ability to recolor your PS username.
  • The ability to claim an unused PS username.

Credits for the trainercards go to skrimps, Tuthur and this website.

Tournament Rules:

  • General tournament rules and regulations can be found here.
  • The banlist for this tournament is the same as the current ZeroUsed ladder of the Smogon University server of Pokemon Showdown, and can be found here.
  • Best of three, single elimination.
  • If metagame changes occur during the middle of Round 1, they will take effect in Round 2.
  • Battles must take place on Pokemon Showdown! or smogtours.
  • SV cartridge win conditions are in place; there are no ties.
  • Replays are required. Failure to post will result in a coin flip.

time to predict this tour, if i predict against you please take it personally (/j dont do that, its a joke im not taking these that seriously i promise)

OranBerryBlissey10 vs PlayaBeavs (as someone who has prepped with and against beavs, he has a unique take on the tier. I think Beavs might be able to find something OBB hasn't accounted for in the builder)
Michael Jordan vs Tizio (I like MJ builds better in general)
BloodAce vs Praise The Salt (I am rooting for Praise the Salt, he's been building this tier nonstop and I think he can take it if he locks in hard enough. I'd be remiss if I didn't call this an uphill battle though)
diegoyuhhi vs HAVOCKNIGHT (close one and gonna be a good match. edge is going to Diego because higher seed correlates with more recent success)
Drud vs DD Joe (Drud is pretty dominant, I don't think DD Joe can pull a Toto, as in loading that one team 4 times and winning)
Shadow079 vs hxmo (I'm bolding on the prediction that Shadow finds good teams)
TBasedGod vs zause (either zause crashes out after losing to gloom or zause brings absolute heat and wins because of it)
Baddy vs sleid (probably a close one, bolding sleid because baddy dodged ZU against fragments in UM poffs, and yes i did factor in Baddy picking ZU vs Memphis r1)
 
OranBerryBlissey10 vs PlayaBeavs (both players are pretty good but beavs has a tendency to go crazy in the builder, which more likely than not can backfire, and also somehow we all collectively let Obb go over 1k points ?)
Michael Jordan vs Tizio (MJ is way better in indivs for some reason, and I guess he beat Tizio in classic if that matters to some)
BloodAce vs Praise The Salt (going with the safer predict, although praise is completely locked in so this might go like bace vs pannu in UMFL)
diegoyuhhi vs HAVOCKNIGHT (pretty sure diego just has been playing and building more SV than havock which was too busy trashtalking ZUWC, diego is also fresh off of swiss win so he's got good momentum)
Drud vs DD Joe (if I predict against Drud he might kick me off of his minecraft server, sorry Joe)
Shadow079 vs hxmo (hxmo seems to have been training hard, and he won this same matchup during swiss, and shadow might throw by fear of being call a "zu player")
TBasedGod vs zause (maybe he's been training in the shadows)
Baddy vs sleid (for Baddy either the momentum and skill from an SCL carry over, or maybe he's burnt out, I really don't know, Baddy supposedly has less ZU knowledge than sleid but will sleid manage to make that matter)

Michael Jordan vs Tizio - mj and tizio are both rather newcoming to zu tournaments and have a similar profile. im gonna bold mj because he's got better results, but i think both players are kinda at the same level.
BloodAce vs Praise The Salt - not very familiar with PTS' level, so gonna go for the safest option
diegoyuhhi vs HAVOCKNIGHT - estra is really good, but diego comes from a dominant ZU Swiss victory against OBB and won the tour last year
Drud vs DD Joe - DD Joe lost to Drud in ZU Swiss and is begging for teams in the server
Shadow079 vs hxmo - it was already played, but c'mon how does someone lose to shadow
TBasedGod vs zause - zause is a tryhard and will most likely counterteam sand, tr, and gloom weird teams from tbg. Do not underestimate him though, last year he knocked out (no)obb
Baddy vs sleid - TL curse + Baddy is a reigning UMPL champion
