Project Secret Santa (Sign-ups closed)

Team-building Approach:
First,I examined Sandygast's movepool and discovered that it can learn Hypnosis, a very powerful move. As a result, I decisively opted for a Sandygast equipped with Hypnosis, complemented by three solid moves: Stealth Rock, Earth Power, and Shore Up. Though Vullaby and Toedscool might appear to fully counter Sandygast, they can be put to sleep when switching in. The Tera Steel typing could serve as a countermeasure against Shellder, as its ability Water Compaction makes it less susceptible to even Shellder's Liquidation. I invested 1 speed to outspeed Foongus.

Next, I needed to address the team's defensive shortcomings. The most obvious issue was that the Sandygast lineup struggles to counter Vullaby effectively, so I included Chinchou and Glimmet as two checks for Vullaby. Additionally, Glimmet can set Spikes, while Sandygast's Ghost typing allows it to block Rapid Spin. Following this, a spore-block mon was required, so I chose Toedscool, which can also benefit from Vullaby being put to sleep. Due to the presence of Toxic Spikes, I opted for a Substitute set on Mienfoo. Finally, the two Tera Ghost types on the team can also block Rapid Spin after Sandygast faints.

I played five matches with this team against my friends and ended up with a 4-1 record. I feel this team turned out surprisingly effective and is quite well-structured.

My request was: "a dpp team with a dynamic shitmon" So I picked my favorite shitmon to give to you!

:xy/gastly: :xy/remoraid: :xy/bronzor: :xy/munchlax: :xy/gligar: :xy/stunky:

Some quick team notes:

Lead Gas is heat and forces interactions from your opponent. Hidden Power Ground and Wisp gives you options into the pursuiters. Remoraid is Modest Scarf with Spout and three coverage moves. Those can pretty much be whatever you want so I opted for the ones that don't hit and Psychic. It's great and fun. I think you can double it as a wallbreaker for your endgame lines, or just kind of hold it if they throw away their rain answer quickly. Bronzor is HP Ground, Reflect to give you options to setup Gligar and potentially solid endgame lines. I was also considering Sunny Day or Trick Room on this team but opted for this set, I think you can make that swap if you like. Munchlax is Custap Boom. I was going to opt for Counter but decided that Boom was more dynamic. And we can't just run one explosion user, so we grabbed Stunky for the second and for a bit of extra insurance into Rain. Gligs is a standard SD set.

Enjoy!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Tryhard Version: https://pokepast.es/92968f7f1f0df3b1

Honestly, I really like Hyper Beam Zorua. I think the idea of getting behind a sub and then just letting it rip is super funny. And since you're behind the sub you can recharge for free. For some reason this just straight OHKOs Mienfoo by the way like who said this was okay...
252 SpA Life Orb Zorua-Hisui Hyper Beam vs. 0 HP / 36 SpD Eviolite Mienfoo: 21-27 (100 - 128.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Building this team has been super fun, which I never thought I would ever say while building TTM. I wanted to build a strong team in case you wanted to actually use it on ladder or even in tour. I think this was also my first time building Sub SD Mienfoo which was also fun. I liked the idea of having Sub Foo and Sub Zorua, so once behind the sub they won't know which is which still. The rest of the team is pretty standard and not really worth mentioning. I hope you enjoy it.

Using it vs some guy that likes to talk at me in the little cup discord

I'm not even going to try to explain what's going on with this team. I just wanted to build something a little more fun and creative.

You have mimiology who said this:
you are a gym leader choose a type at least 3 of 6 team members must have that type as one of their typings all team members without that typing must have a damaging move of that type
You made me reach deep into my bag with this one

Rock Spam

:sv/mienfoo::sv/koffing::sv/vullaby:
This team is based around the strongest pokemon in the tier, being Growlithe-Hisui and Cranidos. They tend to bring the same pokemon in and therefore they smack it for the other one to finish off later. Koffing is used to counter Regenerator strategies and Mienfoo/Vullaby provide Knock Off Support for both.

This team may seem unserious at first but it has deep lines against many common teams. Requires good clicking and is therefore not an easy-to-pilot team. I hope you enjoy it!! Merry christmas.

I suck at drawing

MERRY CHRISTMAS Winterbub !
The roostless Quaxly team : https://pokepast.es/9a78e7aa1de98c8d

Was going for a more offensive approach with Aqua Jet instead of Roost, giving the team another sweeper. Stellar Tera helps boost either Brave Bird or Water moves. Goth for Mareine and Foong, which are preventing the bird from sweeping, and added some filler mons that can complement Goth + Quax. Hope you enjoy this team!

this is so awesome

Merry Christmas not enjoying lc! Here's your Inkay Trick Room team:

:diglett-alola::inkay::solosis::dewpider::snubbull::chinchou:
(click on mons for the paste)

:diglett-alola: The dedicated suicide lead. Protect for Fake Out, and Steel Beam/Memento after Stealth Rock depending on the matchup.
:inkay: The star of the show! TR setter and abuser. I chose Psycho Cut for the 4th move because Superpower into Psycho Cut KOs Foongus. Unfortunately has to tie at 8 speed :/
:solosis: Yoinked from bleahey. Second TR setter and the Foongus switch-in. Thunder is an OHKO on 23/13 Vullaby. Tera Blast Ground is for Stunky, which is one of the hardest matchups.
:dewpider: The last TR abuser and a demon. Surf/Hydro Pump OHKOes Mienfoo (fast and slow), Vullaby (after rocks), Elekid, Stunky, Tinkatink (56.3% after Rocks), and many more. Ice Beam for Toedscool, and Giga Drain to regain some health. Hates to see Waters coming, but Solosis and Chinchou help with that.
:snubbull: Mienfoo + Vullaby check and can Eject out to safely bring in one of the TR setters or abusers.
:chinchou: A pivot that's fast enough outside of TR and helps to improve the Water matchup. Flip Turn so opposing Chinchou don't 6-0.

Emolga LAB is coming back for the new Secret Santa and this year our commission is from mmtaccos who whats a HO team! Talking about HO my first idea is just SCREEN and thats all

:Impidimp: :Drifloon: :Teddiursa: :Shellder: :Axew: :Vullaby:

This team aims to set up screen and just DESTROY

:Impidimp: The guy who sets screen and pshot
:Drifloon: The ballon who switches into MIENFOO and helps with memento
:Teddiursa: This bear is very interesting, found it year ago playing around ladder and it can be really good at end game TOXIC FACADE uhmmm GLISCORRRRRRR
:Shellder: The Shell smasher, tera ghost helps to avoid fake out and sweep better
:Axew: The Dragon Dancer, when fairy r removed this guy just OUTRAGEEEEEE
:Vullaby: And at the end our loved VULLABY with NP and tera blast BOOOOOM

Merry Christmas for every one and ENJOY

Merry Christmas Kowasabii! I tried my best to create a decent trickroom team: https://pokepast.es/b286d940924d54a1

:Bronzor: This is the dedicated lead. You get rocks up, setup trick room and then future sight.
:Tinkatink: Offensive tink sounds weird, but with max attack investment those play roughs and ice hammers are no joke! Sleep talk makes it a great foongus check, but it's mainly here for vullaby.
:Slowpoke: IMO this is the best trick room setter there is. Great bulk, amazing longevity and decent damage.
:Toedscool: Rapid spin + great typing + access to trick room (for some reason?) makes it a no-brainer
:Growlithe-Hisui: Rounding off the fire-water-grass core, growlithe hisui might be an odd pick for trick room but here me out. With 14 speed it's slow enough to work inside of trick room, but after 1 flame charge it outspeeds the entire tier. It's also very fun to use.
:Ekans: I needed a poison type, and like xonks said eject button + intimidate is great for safely bringing in one of the TR setters or abusers. Sucker punch catches a lot of people off guard too.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9lc-2504500446
This was a pretty good showcase of the entire team, slowpoke went lebron near the end. Only lost because of a low-roll last turn.

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9lc-2504494995
pretty good showcase of growlithe

Anyway hope you enjoy the team, I had a ton of fun making it! I asked for a trick room team and ended up having to make one

Merry Christmas giove97!

https://pokepast.es/8af1d92e82e004a6

I wanna thank Eniigma and Returnz for help on this team cause my skilless ass couldn't get it done on my own.

Now how do I explain my deranged team building...

The team centers around Growlithe-h, I didn't wanna go with the basic scarf set (even tho it would have been easier to build and maybe better) so I went with the eviolite set. I went with flame charge to allow Growlithe to squeak out some endgame wins. toeds was added for hazard removal to support Growlithe. foo was added cause he's foo. elekid for speed and additional assurance against foongus. Mareanie was added as a foo/vull check that chips mons for Growlithe. The snub was added over the more traditional tink in a TTM core because adding tink would make the team very weak to ground and sandshrew. This team was doing decent on ladder and I hope you like it cause I tried my best lol.

Merry Christmas Rarre!
For the holiday season, I was commissioned to build a non sand sandshrew k team for rarre. Now, why someone would want to do this, I am not sure. After all, sand is in sandshrews name. But nonetheless, it is Christmas, and no wish shall go unfulfilled; so I was more than happy to bestow this gift of a team upon rarre.

:sandshrew: :chinchou: :Mienfoo: :Vullaby: :Foongus: :Mudbray:

I decided to use sandshrew as a sort of set up sweeper, similar to how sandshrew alola is used. His physical defense is quite impressive, his special bulk is abysmal. So, the goal of using him on this team is to sort of revenge set up on physical threats like mienfoo. Steel tera to defend against grookey prio. My results on the ladder with this team were, let's say, inconclusive. But alas, I built this team with love, and sd boost eq/leech life hits like a truck, so when you do reach the set up it's fun. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night. Also sub mienfoo for added help against the mushroom guy. That is all.

Dear Éric,
i hear you've asked for an SM team built around munchlax, well today is your lucky day!!

Let's start with a basic set. We can fill in the coverage move later.
:munchlax: (click sprites to view)

My biggest concern with munchlax is that it struggles to punish foo, so I feel like adding a ghost just to scare it from clicking hjk. That should make foo easier to play around and potentially help munchlax trade with it if really needed. Opting for frillish to keep things interesting and because it synergises nicely with body slam paras.
:munchlax: :frillish:

We're still gonna need a fight resist though. Don't think mareanie works here at all, it conflicts with frillish. Could try spritz or snub, but I like foongus the most because it covers snivy, gives us a sleep absorber for other foonguses, absorbs tspikes, and is generally a better pokemon imo.
:munchlax: :frillish: :foongus:

At this point the team is very weak to pawn so we need a fighting type. In this case, foo is preferable to timburr becuase of regen/longevity, which is much needed considering how fat the team is so far. This also makes us incredibly weak to vullaby, leaving no choice but to add an Onix at the same time.
:munchlax: :frillish: :foongus: :mienfoo: :onix:
There's some important set choices here. With 4 mons that lose to vull, this team needs all it can get, so Foo is fast with max attack in the hopes of catching out offensive vulls (ohkoes after rocks). Acrobatics helps break foongus as we don't have a great foongus switchin.
Onix needs endure as a way of stopping shellder, and endure means it needs stone edge for compatability reasons. Adamant is important for stone edge rolls vs vull.

For the last slot, the team needs something really fast (20+ speed) and strong, as there isn't much of an offensive presence. There aren't many pokemon that meet this criteria, as most scarfers are underwhelming offensively. The only scarfer I consider threatening enough to make up for it is Rufflet, which kinda sucks without removal, but it's so much scarier than every other scarfer that I think it's worth it anyway.
:munchlax: :frillish: :foongus: :mienfoo: :onix: :rufflet:
Now we can fill in Munchlax's last moveslot with EQ as a way to break onix for rufflet.

At this point you might be wondering, "where's the Vullaby?"

And you're absolutely right to question that. A team without vullaby is a waste. So for the final touch, lets delete munchlax and replace it with spdef Vullaby.
:vullaby: :frillish: :foongus: :mienfoo: :onix: :rufflet:
This fixes a lot of issues. It provides removal for the rufflet. It's a 2nd knock off user (1 wasn't enough). It gives us a proper Foongus counter, allowing Mienfoo to drop acrobatics and instead run fake out for priority. Having a proper foongus counter also allows us to drop synth for hp fire, fixing the ferro matchup. And it covers the glaring Timburr weakness. All whilst having a better offensive presence than Munchlax.

merry christmas!

i hear you've asked for an SM team built around munchlax
thanks lily, i kinda cant tell (with love).

Merry christmas hybone, i got here the terablast flying mudbray team you wanted!
:mudbray::mienfoo::glimmet::foongus::vullaby::elekid:
It is the most normal looking thing in the world, but thats kinda the point.
1766601179686.png

The general idea of the team is that using terablast flying mudbray as a lure for toedscool or foongus will give a way for one or some of the following possible win conditions: elekid or spikes if toed dies, and mienfoo or tspikes if foongus dies. Using mudbray early to generate momentum and lure stuff in will ease the path for your other, more conventional wincons, while its a set so unexpected in a very normal team, giving it more chances to succeed.

:mudbray::glimmet::mienfoo: This is the core i started building with. With this mudbray set, i knew i couldnt rely on it to do proper defensive value, as terastilizing to a flying type makes it weak to electric types and to rocks. Thus, a second vullaby answer was needed, entering glimmet. Glimmet has the additional advantage of setting both spikes and tspikes up, which has really good synergy with the lure mudbray set you gave me, as whenever toedscool dies, spikes will go uncontested vs ttm teams, and whenever foongus dies, most teams wont be able to remove the toxic spikes.
:foongus::vullaby: These two were the second core of mons to be added. They fit the team by giving you a fighting and a ground/psychic resist respectively, adding a ton for the defensive synergy of the team, helping against pokemon such as mienfoo, gothita, chinchou and diglett alola. They may look nothing special, but that nothingness is the key to succeed here: the team has to look normal in order for the lure to work, and also they are used in pair for a reason, as they work incredibly together with mudbray and mienfoo.
:elekid: For the last mon, it was obvious i needed something fast and capable of cleaning once damage has been dealt. Elekid felt like the perfect pokemon for this role: it is the fastest pokemon in the metagame, it benefits incredibly from both spikes to get stuff in range of its moves and toedscool dying, as it is one of its biggest roadblocks. I chose the terablast grass set because i needed a much better matchup into chinchou, admitting i dont need knock off that badly if i lay down spikes. This set also helps against opposing mudbrays, which could be hard to take down otherwise. I figure having two terablasts isnt a huge deal, since their targets tend to not team up, instead fitting different roles in very different teams.
Beating LeJames Chonk, whos using a larvesta team. I didn't end up using my tera, which means mudbray couldve very much used it to ko gothita and avoid its death. https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9lc-2505727273-gq0rrncclnsvgu7cckq8qrd7btqsgi2pw?p2
Using the teraflying to beat turtwigmygoat, who was rocking another secret santa team. Team was able to beat down toed even without mudbrays help, which allowed me to use its tera to beat a late game scarf mienfoo. https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9lc-2505728653-i3jryuf2x6d37c420hv6y383bu1g5xkpw?p2
Tera grass elekid being incredible against xonks team with foongus, elekid and trapinch. Spikes and offensive play from mudbray made this matchup easier to play, and terablast elekid, with help from spikes and smart play, was able to beat even a trapinch. https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9lc-2505729951-j29hv3k75r8tk1ujikldy5go5wyeaagpw?p2
