the purpose of the solgaleOU movement is to push for an unban of solgaleo in gen 9 ou as it would be exceedingly healthy for the metagame but has very little widespread support from the community. this is likely to be the only chance we get to demonstrate that a gen 9 ou with solgaleo is in fact healthier in a mainstream way. gen 9 ou holds a special place in my heart and its kind of sad seeing it get so centralized so i for one am very behind solgaleOU. that is why i won't be supporting iron fist instead.

iron fist folks, i respect the fighting spirit, but unless you can magic up 65,000 more votes it's probably better to throw your weight towards solgaleou. we the smogon proletariat must unite against the elitist entrenched powers who want randbats 1v1 (which, by the way, can just be voted as the randomized format spotlight at any time). better one of us win than both of us lose

neither solgaleo nor 1v1 are the icons of the proletariat you are a load of unfunny tours players and i wish you nothing but torment.
calling dbw a tours player is overly optimistic

not really; the reason we're trying to win through the vote is that 1v1 random battles voted through the spotlight would just be random battles with the 1v1 modifier, with mons having stealth rocks, support sets, focus sash and the more the merrier, and no real 1v1 sets. Would possibly ruin the whole thing for people trying it.
I like iron fist and I think it would be fun for it to get a ladder, but this is our way of having 1v1 random battles done our way with our sets, and potentially making it a permanent ladder down the line.
i dont have beef with solgaleo + ou but wouldn't you guys also be able to just... get it suspected? I'm sure there must be a good reason why it's not happening, especially since guys like zamazenta have been dropped before
I think we should do rock paper scissors on if solgaleOU or Iron Fist should donate to the other.

the problem with trying to get solgaleo tested down through the normal process is that the council has total control over the suspect process and most of them don't seem to have any interest in testing it. it's also very difficult to show community support for a test because testing down ubers is a banned topic in the meta discussion thread (for good reason tbh, this is really the only instance where it's actually warranted) and they never put solgaleo on surveys so we're limited to write-ins. this is our only realistic avenue towards getting an actual look at what svou with solgaleo would be like
now hear me out on this. i have no real beef with randbats 1v1 either. i like the idea of it, even. but i don't think this is the vehicle you should use to promote it. i can, and will, help you find other avenues to build the format the way you want it and set it up for more than just a single month in the spotlight, if you help me out with this effort

solgaleOU would be a solomod

you can feel any kind of way about who is bidding their likes towards what, but you need to remember that this is a fun and friendly competition in the off-topic forum for a format to get a ladder for a month (no extensions whatsoever). bashing a format or the people who put likes towards a format because you think they could easily attain their preferred ladder through other means: helps nobody, disincentivizes people from wanting to put likes towards your preferred ladder, and disincentivizes me from wanting to put this up in the future.
